I am too overwhelmed for words. My favorite composer, the best conductor of his music I have ever seen, and the best rendering of Solveig’s arias I have ever heard.

Superbly touching performance. Greig on home turf. Sheer genius in the captivating complex range of emotions expressed by this music. The musicians, conductor, and singer, were equally transported into another realm.
To what do I owe my immense good fortune in coming across this outstanding orchestra, these soloists, this voice, this conductor? The soloists are world class, the oboe to my ears, beyond words.
Not a very famous orchestra compared to the royal concertgebouw orchestra but they play the music of their homeland with an absolute delicate power and stunning beauty. The soprano is beautiful as well.
The conductor is so expressive and yet natural and charming.
I came to find calming lullaby musics, but I was so mesmerized that I watched the whole video instead of sleeping. That voice tho, oh my... I just can't find any word to describe how I feel.
An absolutely transcendent performance supported by top notch production values. Truly a gem. Thanks.

Grieg is one of my favourite all time composers, and Peer Gynt is an exceptional
piece of fine music, those strings pull at my heart leaving me in a sheer state of
pure joy. and what's more if you close your eyes you can sense the beauty of Norway.
Grieg was a musical genius. Ms Moen's voice is enchanting. Loved the whole performance. Thank you all.

Oh wonderful! Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra is beautiful. Delicate and dynamic strings, charming wind instruments,especially oboe. Maestro Edward Gardner is the talented conductor. He have so rich expressive power and a gift for catch the essence of the music. Ms. Ann-Hellen Moen is a singer with a certain singing.

Composing this nearly cost Grieg his mind lyrical composer here he was adding music to a play by Ibsen about a worldly person Peer Gynt . During the 2nd world war the BBC broadcast this to Norway to help support the Norwegians and let them know they weren’t forgotten. Ironically the director of the radio play had said some time before if he had chance of producing Peer Gynt he would ditch the incidental music on this occasion he had no option it was included to give a focus for the resistance fighters. Marvellous playing and sound by the Bergen philharmonic .
Ik was gisteren bij het concert. Nu weer beluisteren en opnieuw tranen in mijn ogen. Het is en fantastische uitvoering.

Sehr lebendige und gut phrasierte Aufführung dieses farbenprächtigen Meisterwerks im lebhaften Tempo und ohne überflüssige Agogik. Der Dirigent leitet das ganze Orchester echt künstlerisch. Die Stimme der Solistin klingt auch wunderschön!
Für meinen Geschmack fast etwas zu lebhaft.

But also a world class orchestra. You won't find it on a list of the best orchestras in the world but it is absolutely brilliant and beautiful what they do. Compliment to Bergen.

I love that Bergen, besides having a beautiful Wharf of the Germans, have a magnificient orchestra like this one. I miss the Lament of Ingrid, The Arab Dance or the Return of Peer Gynt, but what is there is great.

David (Stewart), if you see this, Hi. I recall working with the orchestra 1985-86 as an extra player (vikar). Just want to say a pity Aldo was in a temper that day. However, despite that decision causing great sorrow for several years, he did try to change it but was prevented by the office - the office!! What did they know?). Now things have worked out and I have done a lot more than I would have done remaining in a salaried job. You were always fair. Good luck, Roger

Puro umm what do you mean? Their applause at the end is a well deserved standing ovation and cheering, what more could you want?!
the etiquette is that you should not clap between the movements.I find that to be a difficult rule to follow, too.

Un très beau concert ,hélas ponctué par des abrutis irrespectueux qui auraient mieux fait de rester chez eux plutôt que de poluer une écoute ou le son passant par l'oreille est primoridale. Les quintes de toux vont crescendo quand l'orchestre se tait.
Quel dommage. ..
