I actually played the PS2 fes version in the beginning of this year and I absolutely frickin loved it. My first persona game and I just played it on a whim lol. Thank god I did cus it became one of my all-time favs. Can't wait for this remake
can't say I agree with your opinion on the UI at all. IMO a huge reason why Persona 5 was so good and reached more people and did as well as it did was because of the awesome UI. It's arguebly the best and slickest looking UI in any game. They'd be fools not to make that a staple of the persona series and I think it'd be a waste to tone it down just because it may not fit the vibe the original was going for. I think a lot of what makes this remake so appealing to me is BECAUSE they've pumped it up with some of the stuff they've learned from persona 5. These games have a ton of menus, they SHOULD pop off and be in your face!
Iam glad this got a proper remake before Persona 4. Almost got a heart attack when I saw this. Persona 3 portable and FES is the only ones I played more then twice.

I don't know why Persona 4 should have a remake... It's mostly a date sim. There is almost no plot just different character stories. Golden imo is more than enough. But Atlus probably will make one anyway cause ppl will buy it.

I think you're making an understatement by saying P4 "almost has no plot" when its right there in front of you, just a little separated between the main path and the side paths (events, social links, etc) by your logic, the 3 games are mostly a dating sim if you ignore the plot. Golden is indeed enough, but tbh, its basically the same game with additional content. A remake is supposed to change things up while keeping some things in the plot and story and other features. Golden mostly just adds rather than remove or change... well, maybe. But still, some would argue thay despite how much P4 receives it sorta deserves a remake. I'm not tryna say it does, but it could or it couldn't. Same could be said for the rest of Persona.

But if you won't develope links in P4 that means all that is left of the game is running around in dungeons for another victim, who will tell his/her short story. I just don't see why P4 needs a remake. P4G has good graphics, batlle system etc. I would rather like P1 remake.

The meaning of P4 is clear from said stories of everyone in the dungeon, its not just about running around in a dungeon, saving other people from the TV world, its saving them and getting them to understand that their fear of facing themselves or "ignoring the truth" will only take them aback. Clearly you would know why the plot is going any far because its telling us that the media is the real problem for everyone going through the conflict of fearing the reality that they seek. "Pursue my True Self" also makes this VERY clear from the lyrics alone. Its true that You can in fact date the girls and some outside the group, but it doesn't defeat the plot or story. There is a lot more to the story that proves a bit more complex, but what I said should already be a clue. Also, just because you save them does not mean you have to date them, as romance is optional in this game, again, I haven't played the OG so Idk, but I just seems so in Golden. Technically developing social links in P4 has its merits and does do good for situations in battle it probably doesn't tinker with the story or plot, but in a certain aspect it does. I think you're really just telling the story in a more smaller input. and just looking at it at face value. there is much more depth to P4 that proves a little untouched or not very easy to comprehend. So its easy to think "There is barely any plot or story!" I do agree with some things like partly the social link things. But I'm not sure about the rest.
I don't want to make my expectations so high, but I have a feeling that tells me they're still polishing a lot of stuff, some scenes look great while others look lacking (bad lighting, shadows missing, the ridiculous battle UI design) but looking at other parts like the menu screen and the awakening scene, no one knows what can happen in the span of 6-8 months
Sorry to say this, but tell that to the Pokemon devs whenever a pokemon trailer drops and it looks bad graphically all the Pokemon fans claim it will change when it releases. And it never does. Hopefully it does change this time since I have much more expectations from Atlus.

3:45 It's not gonna be XBox exclusive - it was like that with the P3P/P4G/P5R trailer last year too, the reason it only lists XBOX/Windows is because it's from (or, in this case, meant to be from) the Xbox Games Direct. Last year, a week after the Xbox Direct, Atlus released the same trailer for P3P/P4G/P5R on their channel and it included Switch, Steam, and PS4/5. Gonna be the same here too

P3 helped me survive the most difficult point in my life. To me Tartarus was always important in it's current form because it symbolizes Orpheus leaving the underworld with Eurydice and Jesus carrying the cross to Golgotha. There were never any downwards staircases in Tartarus because Orpheus could never turn back, plus obviously the name itself. As for the passion it represents Jesus going through the task of carrying the burden of the sins of previous generations and absolving them to save humanity. I haven't been religious in probably over a decade now, but i believe i remember Jesus collapsed multiple times during his journey. However, he got up and continued each time. Tartarus is that journey up the hill, it's monotonous, time consuming, and you definitely do want to quit, but you continue knowing it will mean your certain death (as Ryoji states). I want this game to be as faithful as possible. I'm fine with little tweaks like playable side activities, graphical/design updates (except the battle menu not being a revolver), even the removal of the more fanservice-y cutscenes (mostly Operation Babe Hunt, i think Mitsuru executing you in the hot spring is a fun subversion to the Japanese pervy scene trope) but other than that i want this to keep P3 as it was
then we're both motherfuckers. As long as they keep core identity and mechanics, then i don't mind the smaller changes. (and revolver menu is great.) i just hope they keep the in-depth allies being indirectly controlled thing, i found it fun. (Optional, because almost everyone bloody hates it...)

I hope that they can just put the buttons inside the revolver menu. So we can still keep the revolver menu but still a have a menu that functions in a more modern way
I think the battle UI is the main concern for me. It looks like a very early rough draft build of Persona 5’s battle UI. Hopefully that changes but other than that… this is the most excited I’ve been for a game like… ever.
Considering how this was claimed to have been planned for the Xbox showcase, only Xbox and PC being shown there is probably because of that. The game will most certainly come to PlayStation and maybe the Switch too
Not saying cant run on switch but atlus is pretty bad developing 3D games for it with SMTV running like dogshit. Yet other bigger, grander far more detailed switch games such as Xenoblade 3 runs 100 times smoother. Actually really excited for this! I absolutely loved playing through Persona 5, and this new remake seems like the perfect way to jump into the third game. Glad I waited and didn't buy P3P. Now I just have to play 4 golden sometime between now and next year, which might be difficult with how stacked this year has been. RIP to the intern, thank you for your service you underpaid legend
I'm glad this trailer came out, I was considering buying P3P but now I know that I don't have to waste my money on that. I assume the PS and Steam versions of the game will be announced later down the line, since this trailer was meant for the XBOX showcase.
Probably will be announced after the showcase, like what Xbox did with the up-in-the-air multiplats from the recent Playstation showcase. It did seem like a trailer made for the Xbox channel/storefront.
I'd like to mention two things though, we don't actually know if they'll keep femc in and it's probably not gonna be xbox/pc-only, I've heard this trailer was supposed to be for an upcoming xbox presentation
One thing that caught my eye is that it looks like the major story cutscenes are all in-engine now and that kinda makes me sad because the anime cutscenes in 3fes went hard
I think the UI looks good. It's a darker blue. I'm just glad it doesn't look like the UI of Dancing in Moonlight, with light blue and pink/green triangles. Persona 3 had a mostly blue aesthetic, but it wasn't used as much as say P4's yellow, or P5's red. The old text boxes in 3 were grey and red. The opening cinematic of P3 used a lot of white and red. The store we've seen in Reload captures the red and white from before. I hope the blue is used a little less requently by the time P3 Reload launches.
I'm pretty positive that this game will be on PlayStation and Switch as well. In Persona 3-5 rerelease trailer They only showed PC and Xbox releases before Atlus went on social media and clarified that it will also be releasing on Switch and PlayStation too. That trailer was likely meant to be shown at the Xbox Showcase.

It won't be Xbox exclusive, Microsoft requires new announcements (that they have marketing rights for) to not announce other platforms for 24-48 hours. The same thing happened with the console ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
Im excited for this but are they going to include stuff like the answer since like its important to the plot so Im also kind of worried that its just a persona 3 remake and not the definitive persona 3 experience
I mean it does say it’s on windows too so I don’t think anyone who is a persona fan wouldn’t have a windows OR XBOX but I wouldn’t be surprised if it weasels it’s way on to one more console
I'm just worried that it's gonna be base P3 only and not have FemC or The Answer. Hopefully they show off those things in a future trailer, or if they don't have them and the fan backlash is big enough, maybe they'll make it DLC in the future.
I mean if this and a potential following P4 remake means we don't get a new mainline persona game for some time I will be a little sad but also if we get a P4 remake I would be so happy that game is perfect for what it is and a new verson would just mean I get to play it again in a new way.

I was introduced to persona 5 royal by a friend and fell in love with the series (at least persona). I plan to get persona 4, but my friend told me to not bother with the persona 3 copy they brought to ps4 / switch. I am looking forward to this remake. I got one of the SMT games too and maaaan that is a grind!! I am here for it, but got to pace yourself if you are going to play that particular part of the series. I rather the game not be xbox exclusive, buuuuut, I do own an xbox so not the end of my reality. Hoping for a PS4 version so I can have the series together on one console.
No way it’s only coming to Xbox. All signs point to it just being another case of the announcement - pre leak - having been planned for the Xbox showcase this month. It’ll definitely come to PlayStation as well, likely Pc, and I’d say a good chance it’ll also be on Switch as well. Just like the ports they first announced last year the exact same way.

I just read an article that it's also planned to release for Switch and PS4 and PS5. So hopefully it won't stay at Xbox. It's likely only shown that way because it's a leak for the Xbox Showcase.
Thing I read is that PS will announce their release date closer to their show and the only reason why XBox is splashed all over this is because this material is meant for the XBox show
I played a lot of P3 in a PSP emulator and this game helped me a lot through depression in the pandemic. But i would't dare to play the port on Game Pass because i would't be able to handle Tartarus without a speed up button. I'm currently on P4 and the dungeon system is way better, nothing more than 11 floors and each floor was handmade. I have a lot of expectations for Reload. From the trailer the design looks a lot like P5, but i was expecting something like that since Catherine came out in 2011. I hope they do it justice as the definitive version it has to be, with The Answer(please be more enjoyable than the original) and FeMC.
I personally think if you're fine with playing older titles, then old games are kinda perfectly fine. I've played the one on PSP via emulators a few years ago and played the modded original game on the PS(modded because people seemed to be really adamant on the game being unfair and clunky). Both are fine. Like, you really just have not research the other titles. Since, I'm already a visual novel fan the lack of visual eye candy never bugged me. Even when I played P4G I never thought "Wow, what an upgrade!" just cuz of the 3D models. When I did play the mod I did think it was neat, but it really isn't a game changer and didn't make me think one or the other was bad as a first time. I've realised the more you think about the apsects you're missing out on the more you kinda heavily miss out on what's in front of you. Just breeds frustration and doubt in your brain.
All they need to do with Tartarus, is give the floors more of a theme with more puzzles/interactivity, instead of just having them be randomly generated generic trash. They can keep the tower as a whole, while changing the contents of each floor.
3 portable was probably just a "People are gonna complain if we don´t port 3, so screw it here s a quick port for the version with the most quality of life gameplay while we get the real food ready." thing.
Only played the portable version on ps vita but I hope they do something about the tower cuz I found the tower map really boring. Every floor just looked the same and if you’ve played persona series, the battle can be repetitive. With 4 and 5, it can still be repetitive but each map had diff theme so I personally found it less boring. Persona had really good story plot and characters too. Also, I really liked the music too. Really looking forward to remake. Oh I hope they add all the additional contents to it as well

Actually really excited for this! I absolutely loved playing through Persona 5, and this new remake seems like the perfect way to jump into the third game. Glad I waited and didn't buy P3P. The original UI also "popped". It looks like it fits, to me. The game felt very bright and colorful, purely from a visual perspective.
I'm glad this trailer came out, I was considering buying P3P but now I know that I don't have to waste my money on that.
I assume the PS and Steam versions of the game will be announced later down the line, since this trailer was meant for the XBOX showcase.
Probably will be announced after the showcase, like what Xbox did with the up-in-the-air multiplats from the recent Playstation showcase. It did seem like a trailer made for the Xbox channel/storefront.
I'd like to mention two things though, we don't actually know if they'll keep femc in and it's probably not gonna be xbox/pc-only, I've heard this trailer was supposed to be for an upcoming xbox presentation

I think the UI looks good. It's a darker blue. I'm just glad it doesn't look like the UI of Dancing in Moonlight, with light blue and pink/green triangles.
Persona 3 had a mostly blue aesthetic, but it wasn't used as much as say P4's yellow, or P5's red. The old text boxes in 3 were grey and red. The opening cinematic of P3 used a lot of white and red. The store we've seen in Reload captures the red and white from before. I hope the blue is used a little less requently by the time P3 Reload launches.

In Persona 3-5 rerelease trailer They only showed PC and Xbox releases before Atlus went on social media and clarified that it will also be releasing on Switch and PlayStation too. That trailer was likely meant to be shown at the Xbox Showcase.

It won't be Xbox exclusive, Microsoft requires new announcements (that they have marketing rights for) to not announce other platforms for 24-48 hours. The same thing happened with the console ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.

Xbox has marketing exclusivity, the P5R, P4G and P3P ports were also only marketed for Xbox.
I mean if this and a potential following P4 remake means we don't get a new mainline persona game for some time I will be a little sad but also if we get a P4 remake I would be so happy that game is perfect for what it is and a new verson would just mean I get to play it again in a new way.

I was introduced to persona 5 royal by a friend and fell in love with the series (at least persona). I plan to get persona 4, but my friend told me to not bother with the persona 3 copy they brought to ps4 / switch. I am looking forward to this remake.

No way it’s only coming to Xbox. All signs point to it just being another case of the announcement - pre leak - having been planned for the Xbox showcase this month. It’ll definitely come to PlayStation as well, likely Pc, and I’d say a good chance it’ll also be on Switch as well. Just like the ports they first announced last year the exact same way.

I played a lot of P3 in a PSP emulator and this game helped me a lot through depression in the pandemic. But i would't dare to play the port on Game Pass because i would't be able to handle Tartarus without a speed up button. I'm currently on P4 and the dungeon system is way better, nothing more than 11 floors and each floor was handmade.
I have a lot of expectations for Reload. From the trailer the design looks a lot like P5, but i was expecting something like that since Catherine came out in 2011. I hope they do it justice as the definitive version it has to be, with The Answer(please be more enjoyable than the original) and FeMC.

I personally think if you're fine with playing older titles, then old games are kinda perfectly fine. I've played the one on PSP via emulators a few years ago and played the modded original game on the PS(modded because people seemed to be really adamant on the game being unfair and clunky). Both are fine. Like, you really just have not research the other titles. Since, I'm already a visual novel fan the lack of visual eye candy never bugged me. Even when I played P4G I never thought "Wow, what an upgrade!" just cuz of the 3D models. When I did play the mod I did think it was neat, but it really isn't a game changer and didn't make me think one or the other was bad as a first time.
I've realised the more you think about the apsects you're missing out on the more you kinda heavily miss out on what's in front of you. Just breeds frustration and doubt in your brain.

All they need to do with Tartarus, is give the floors more of a theme with more puzzles/interactivity, instead of just having them be randomly generated generic trash. They can keep the tower as a whole, while changing the contents of each floor.
3 portable was probably just a "People are gonna complain if we don´t port 3, so screw it here s a quick port for the version with the most quality of life gameplay while we get the real food ready." thing.

Only played the portable version on ps vita but I hope they do something about the tower cuz I found the tower map really boring. Every floor just looked the same and if you’ve played persona series, the battle can be repetitive. With 4 and 5, it can still be repetitive but each map had diff theme so I personally found it less boring.
Persona had really good story plot and characters too. Also, I really liked the music too. Really looking forward to remake. Oh I hope they add all the additional contents to it as well
