Chad, my name is Luis I’m from Idaho. I remember many videos back you said you wanted to put out quality videos instead of quantity. I don’t know the proper name but you have been putting some very very high level quality of story telling. I love it. I love your content. I hope to one day be able to take a trip like that and see it with my own eyes. Amazing amazing work that you put into these videos. I just want to tell you how much I enjoy watching them. I appreciate the time to take for this to happen
Congratulations you made it to there again. Your dedication is inspiring. Not many will do what you just did. Thank you for bringing real reality and extreme grim experiences to us here in RUclips world. Your videos are like professional documentaries. You are one awesome human. I love all your videos but especially this one and the visit to the Arctic.
Simply amazing. Something very few “normal” people will do in their life. The fact you documented it and we get to see what it might be like is awesome. Thanks Chad, loved every minute of the journey 🙏
I really enjoying these episodes. I feel like I'm being transported to someplace that I'd never get to go to otherwise. Looking out at the rain here in Ireland on 01.01.2024 and c7 degrees celsius, yet here I am "travelling" with Chad in Alaska/Canada. Great content Chad. Well done. And thank you! Stay safe and Happy New year to you and all your followers
Wow, saw our sticker from our 2019 trip. We stayed two nights at one of the hotels and have to say ours was much nicer than yours. We had my Service Dog and the folks could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We had the buffet style as well but were asked to avoid the peak hours with our Service Dog if possible. He would be a distraction to the workers who would want to pet him, so we used the nice lounge area, large screen tv, smoking fast wifi and my wife would get our food and every time one of the staff helped her carry the second tray. I think they did so they could see our dog. Apparently, word was out he was there so many workers would walk by to say hi. Great trip for us and your video brought back some fond memories.
Congratulations Chad on your adventure & also sharing this with us. It takes a lot of courage to be able to make that kind of an expedition so far with the very cold & brutal elements. And have a very safe trip back home to Washington State & can’t wait to hear back from you.
Fascinating to learn more about how people live and work in such conditions through your brilliant Arctic documentary. Good to know that the land will be recovered and returned to the Inuit peoples in time.
Awesome video as always Chad. Your Arctic series is so epic can't wait for the return trip climbing down the mountain is still climbing the mountain. Stay safe and stay warm.
There ARE movie theaters, gyms, swimming pools, gardens, rooms like a catered convenience store with no cash register, to get quick bites of food. All fresh food!! There are giant lounging areas. Like big fancy hotels.
Enjoyed your video. Fantastic photography. Last time I was there, was sheephunting about 30 years ago with some bros. We went up in a beat up square body chevy pickup, hiked up the mountain to the right of atigun pass. We were camped on the top of the brooks range with vast views of the north slope. When the northern lights were out, we were so high up, we looked across,, instead of up, to see them. Many of my lifelong friends work on the slope. Many of them there right now. We all grew up in fairbanks. Good times.
Wow, I've never seen anything like this before. Thank you for bringing this to us. It's amazing to see where oil comes from and all the hard work it takes so we can burn it to live and enjoy life on the road. Nicely done!
Thanks a lot for sharing these beautiful scenes and info Chad! Your production is improving each time you upload a video, please continue your great work. Kudos.
WOW! What a journey!! ... what a journey of events!!! First we had all the detailed preparations for the big Return to the Arctic adventure trip. Then we had a seemingly endless drive with majestic views, skillfully edited. A symphony of visual AND thumping music transmitting emotions. Furthermore we are now having an introduction to life and work in such inhospitable environment. Showing that all lifestyle could done because of and for "money" (oil!). And, in a side note, the reality that 100% living inside a van is possible but a break in a "cabin" is a small blessing indeed. Anxiously waiting for the next episode, dueling into who knows what. It will be pleasantly good, for sure. But what will it be? Unforgiving Alaska showing its reality. Thanks Chad!
Hearty congratulations to your great adventure...salute to your courage and resilience to make this solo trip all the way....all the best for your future adventures
Chad, have followed you for years. The adventures, content, advice and photography are for me, second to none. Safe journey back to warmer parts. Happy New Year 🎉
Chad! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! There is another overland channel that I occasionally watch and they went to Purdue Bay and paid a fee to the oil company to have a guide drive them to the Ocean. FYI.
Thank you for taking us along Chad. What a great experience, something most of us just wonder about. Thankfully, you saw the ocean last time you were at the arctic.
I really loved this episode I had no idea about the buildings and stilts and returning everything back to nature at the end of the oil drilling. Such a Great Adventure! One day I would love to be able to travel to remote places like you do 😇 I love the style and how real everyone is and oh yeah... I thought your transition to talk about the stilts on the buildings was Sooooo Cool and I was like now that is editing at its best!!! Love your Channel!!! and look forward to the next episode!💗💗💗💗💗
Thanks for sharing ! Although not as far ! my father did own a motel/pub/gas station establishment in Whitehorse, I wish I would have went that way back then. Mabey another day
@LivingTheVanLife, great trip and series. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I have one big problem: I wish people would not lie about surviving in “extreme” temps. We get down to -50°F here in Montana, and guess what? We survive just fine. -20° - -30° F is not unusual during winter. Yes vehicles become hard to start, but they do, especially with engine heaters plugged in. I’ve also been in Arizona when it was 127° F. It was hot, but survived just fine. We could not drive on the roads as the asphalt would melt to the tires, and the excessive heat would blow tires, but to survive in the heat, while hot, was doable. Although I’ll take -30° any day over 127° F.
Wow. Brutal conditions in winter. Three of us drove a little Jeep up the haul road many years ago in September and tent-camped north of the Brooks range by a creek. When we went for a morning walk we discovered that during the night a caribou had been killed and dismembered a hundred feet away during the night. Gulp. It is absolutely remote country, full of wildlife.
Hi Chad another great video, thanks for sharing this epic adventure with us. Looking forward to see more. Greetings from Turkey and happy new year. 🎉🎊🎉
Great video. The question is: will the area _really_ be returned to nature? Governments and corporations haven't exactly got a good track record of honouring agreements made with indigenous peoples.
The showcase of the worker lifestyle up there (plus the interview and historical videos) was so intriguing! Love how you add in different perspectives amidst the elite filmwork and storytelling. Super excited to see what's next.
Wow Chad I think it’s cool that they have that hotel for anyone and actually talk to you and explain things. Very nice video. Thank you. Until the next one stay safe
Oh my goodness! That repurposed, antenna mast 'structure' (that you plugged your engine block heater into), reminded me of the old 'IdleAire' structures that you used to see at Truck Stops! The IdleAire system; provided Truck Drivers with, heat, A/C, broadband internet, and electricity...for a (exorbitant) fee... It went the way of the DoDo.
Thank you Chad for taking us along on this great adventure...inhospitable country for sure. Beutiful in it's own right however I'm more of a sit around the campfire and hiking around type .
Seeing the LTI trucks, living in Bellingham all my entire life & working for BP really brings this video home. My neighbor and good friends works in Deadhorse. This is the best footage I've EVER seen Chad, I really appreciate this video! Also, get yourself a TWIC card and you'll be able to be a visitor up there on your next adventure to Deadhorse.
Awesome video. Super cool to see what it's like up there and how it all keeps chugging along. Not sure if your paths will cross, but another RUclipsr, Truck House Life, seems to be making the trek up to Deadhorse as well recently!
Thanks for taking us to see this incredible environment. I had no idea what it is like living and working in this environment. Be safe and stay well. Happy New Year!
Such an amazing and beautiful trip. Love all the footage. Today’s video made me cold just watching it…BRRR! 🥶 Lots of interesting info. You are a brave man!

“It’s 46 below wind chill which is…comfortable.” Haha! What a trooper.
I love this channel 🙌🏼🙏
This series is awesome, man. One of the best things you've done in a while. I love your winter content and this has been a treat to watch so far.
Thanks for putting us in the passenger seat for your adventure Chad! Safe travels🍻
Thank you Cassi. That really means a lot. Cheers! Keep on truckin!
No there’s people coming & going from there everyday, but you must think the oilpatch is remotely operated I’m assuming?
Simply amazing. Something very few “normal” people will do in their life. The fact you documented it and we get to see what it might be like is awesome. Thanks Chad, loved every minute of the journey 🙏
Amazing video keep up the great work

Those buildings are also built on stilts, so that the wind can blow through them rather than be subjected to 100% of the force of the wind
Good morning, Chad! Great video and great information! You stay safe, eat healthy, and stay warm. Happy New Year! Keep on trucking! 🙏🏾❤️🌎🚐🥳🎶🎺🎉

Good video,Chad.
Wow, I've never seen anything like this before. Thank you for bringing this to us. It's amazing to see where oil comes from and all the hard work it takes so we can burn it to live and enjoy life on the road. Nicely done!
Timmy over at Truck House Life just did this drive last week, from Girdwood. With a homemade cabin on a super old, awesome truck. Pretty bad ass.
I know! Super cool. I was bummed he wasn’t able to make it all the way to Deadhorse. :-(
Yup. Closed road; sucks that it was out of his control. Hopefully next time he can make it all the way; he was so close.
Great video as always, thank you.
Thanks a lot for sharing these beautiful scenes and info Chad! Your production is improving each time you upload a video, please continue your great work. Kudos.
Thank you for taking us along on this amazing adventure! Fascinating!

Nice work! Thanks for doing this.
