Hello, Chad! Living the Van Life! I pray that you will be careful and safe while traveling across the Artic. I love these great videos! Keep on trucking! 🙏🏾❤️🚐🍱🥑🧰
Going where not many people can't or won't go is a blessing to all of us Chad! You are a wonder of a human, an extraordinary videographer, storyteller, and wiseman! Keep blessing us with your journey! Take good care!
Every time I watch one of your incredible journeys, I’m not surprised on how my mouth hangs open in amazement! Your time spent living the van life is a testament to giving people an opportunity to understand that one’s life can be filled with whatever adventure you choose! Soak up all the knowledge you can for whatever pleasure that inspires you and go and live it! Thanks again Chad for the paths you have inspired in many!
I hope you have an entire backup heat system in place. On a small airplane there is a backup alternator which you check before flight. You should have a backup heater. And why don't you carry an extra 2 tanks of diesel? Someday you will look back at the things you should have done. I have.
21:50 an arabic song talking about the injustice and corruption in africa , and a few phrases about the african revolution and how the future will be brighter 😊 love the touch !!👍
I just know an interesting sounding song when I hear one. The words I don’t necessarily know… but it’s this type of music that I listened to while I traveled thru the area.. and it essentially was my soundtrack to my own movie as I drove.
Crazy to believe that we lived there for three years, i miss chena hotsprings and i miss flying in alaska, going out to the glaciers and back…😢😢 truly one of if not the most beautiful state
What a great series. Really enjoyable to watch. I wish I had 10% of Chad's adventurous nature to get out and enjoy the country through epic road trips. I'm looking forward to the next episode. Thanks for bringing us along.
I have never been to AK, but I went to the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland in Jan 2024. I have traveled extensively all over the globe, but Lapland has been one of the most unique places I have ever been. The scenery was almost otherworldly. My youngest child is still young enough to believe in Santa so taking him to the Santa village in Lapland while he still believes was a top priority for me. I really enjoy your storytelling style! The video shots you got of the scenery/your drive is amazing!
You're like Thor with the hammer man! Trying to break the portal road or what? Epic show as always man. Keep going & exploring out there. Safe journey!
You deserve to reward yourself, every time there’s some opportunity. Amazing spectacular, how the snow has wrapped around those trees, so beautiful and a little strange too. You have a good eye in capturing those amazing sites.
We stayed at Cold Foot on our own epic overland from the Panhandle of Florida to Prudhoe Bay. Probably the time of year but during August 2019, the Ranger Station held nightly discussions - living in the area one night, on our way back it was training sled dogs. On our return, after getting into our room we walked up those stairs and saw four gentleman at the nearest outside table. I recognized one immediately......but couldn't for the life of me remember where then the lights went on. He is a youtuber I follow - Toby Gelston at PhotoRec TV. The window to your right - top of the stairs is covered in stickers. We left ours. Hope you left one of yours. Same for when you get to Prudhoe Bay. The big sign outside the General Store is covered in them. Watching this trip brings back tons of good memories. Safe travels.
I drove from Michigan, all the way up to Yukon and Alaska, to Fairbanks, through Danali....and down through BC, and the whole west coast of USA to ScCal in 1982. In a VW Rabbit Deisel, back seats out, slept in it on the Alcan and camped out in a Dome Tent all the ways! Best trip of my Life. Washed up in the a.m. in a lot of Mountain streams. Drove the Cassiar Hwy up and down, in 50mhad 2 flat tires "conveniently" close to the only repair station within 50 Miles! lol
After watching each episode, I have a growing desire to travel to a beautiful winter wonderland. Dear Chad, I can't say enough how grateful I am to be a part of these fascinating adventures through your videos. I'm excited for the next episode too! Keep on trucking!😉
Wonderful video! Studded tires are usually the winter tire of choice in Alaska. I lived 30 years on the Kenai Peninsula. My biggest relief came when you got rid of the shorts. My 10 year old daughter and I pulled 2 shorts- wearing guys out of a snow bank down on the Kenai. They nosed in to the snow, on bald tires wearing loafers, no socks. That was a teachable moment on many levels for the boys as well as my daughter. Of course you are more than prepared and you could access warmer clothes in your van. They didn’t carry winter gear at all. That and other missteps have cost lives on winter roads in Alaska. My daughter went on to specialize in SAR and emergency/wilderness medicine as a PA-C. Almost 40 years later my brother still works on the north slope. My uncle was one of the first Arco employees to get to the slope. He set up the repair shops in the late 60’s. Be safe and enjoy!
The snowstorm was nasty I just cant imagine driving in that and what wildlife may run out in front of you. Have to love that soak in the hot springs so refreshing no doubt. Appreciate you driving and filming in this environment cant be an easy task. Interesting clip on the area and the road being put in. The landscape was out of this world amazing those tree's survive that harshness.
Absolutely the BEST in content, heartfelt production and the best cinematic presentation of the landscape full stop. Do yourself a favour, don’t watch these on your iPad or ‘phone, you will miss the point and the detail. Do yourself another favour and grab a LTVL hoodie, got mine 18 months ago and have been living in it ❤
CHAD'S IN THE HOUSE! Long day I couldn't wait to see your video Chad so worth it! Snow is so beautiful that scenery of the snow covering those trees looked like people figures ...glad your Truckin along Chad safe travels ❤
For real, Chad. You’re legitimately one of the best out there. Thank you for amazing narration, stunning visuals and detailed informative account of your experience. Very well done.
This is such an incredible series. That scene of the trees caked in snow is amazing. It looks like another planet. The lighting and everything was just perfect. Safe travels!
Your scenic shots and voice overlay are of the highest quality. Hats off to a guy that spent a lot of time in PNW including Bellingham. Hats off man. Keep on kepping on
Chad, as someone who is a big chicken when it comes to winter driving, I found myself holding my breath at some of the scary, icey roads you are having to travel on. Glad there was a place for you to get a hot meal and a refreshing LaCroix. 👍 Glad you are warm and safe. 🙏
Those "Snow Tree Statues" are the most incredible thing I'll see today. Thank you for fighting that insane cold to capture that breathtaking footage. Safe travels, friend!
Wow thank you Chad for pushing yourself and the van to give your followers a look at the Arctic. The videos are wonderful. Until the next video stay safe.
What great views, and how thankful I am for you travelling and creating these videos, your life depending on your tech and know-how, while I can enjoy from the comfort of my warm couch 😅 Please stay safe
Those frozen signs and trees, yes, intriguing to say the least. When you were up close they gave me the feeling of representing people??!! Love when you give a glimmer of a smile. Trek it baby…🚐🥶☀️
I could swear that such tires are very slippery in those conditions. The rubber compound is not designed for such a cold climate and it hardens even more slippery. I personally wouldn't dare to go on such a trip without studded winter tires. I live in Finland,So I know kinda what I'm talking about. You have valuable equipment, so give it the tires it deserves. I recommend looking at Nokian studded Tyres. Love watching your videos Chad. Keep doing what you do and remember to enjoy . Keep it between the ditches 👍
Thank you, I love your adventure and enjoy watching you drive and prepare your meals and all while I'm sweating at the gym. It makes for a very enjoyable and relaxing experience, that I hope to realize myself one day!
Amazing Video Chad !! Winter Wonderland. Beautiful Scenery. Hot Spring Must Be A Blessing In This Weather. Thanks For Sharing Stories Of Alaska. One Has To Be Well Prepared During These Adventures. Good Luck Chad. And Stay Warm And Safe.
A lot of work goes into a 30 min episode, driving, rolling, capturing, editing, apart from withstanding the elements. Awesome work Chad! Love all your videos! Take care and god bless!
I've watched a few of these videos and was wondering what kind of reserch everyone does for the Dalton? One of the most important things to have in any vehicle on that road is a CB. When your climbing or descending the steep parts you should call out on the radio so if there is an issue with one of the big trucks sideways or broken down you can have a little advanced warning. It happens more than we really like to admit. You can also get up updates from the trucks that are going north or south to find out about the road conditions. If anyone drives the haul road please slow down (30-40 mph)when you pass a big truck. The rocks that are on the road even though they're small they still crack windshields when its that cold and is just good road manners for the guys that have to drive that road every day to make there living.
I was stationed at Ft. Wainwright AK Fairbanks was the town we lived in before moving on post from 1988 to 1991. When I was reassigned to Ft. Stewart GA I was given the option to fly or drive out of Alaska.........I drove........ in a 86 Ford Thunderbird to NYC, oh with my 3 kids. Don't know how we made it in the midst of winter. This video brings back memories and this I get to see everything I missed. Was scared out of my britches but I'll say that Thunderbird held its own in the snow and the cold. If I'd of known I'd of flown. Chad your way would've made our trip way more fun😮
Love the idea of that oil pan heater. I had one with my 2000 VW Jetta TDI. Living in Chicago isn't like Alaska but we'd regularly get temps at or very near 0 degrees F in the winter, sometimes even lower. Sending warm oil up into a stone-cold engine on start up does a world of good. And the reality is that a good-quality synthetic oil doesn't even need to be made very hot. Giving it even a little warm up means it will flow just fine.
Thanks for the maps, it helps to give us an idea where you are driving. It sure looks mighty cold out there. Thanks for the incrediblevideos! We love them.! Safe travels!
I love watching these new episodes on Sunday Nights before work. Sitting in my man cave garage in Colorado...buddy heater on lol. I've seen my share of snow, cold and lonely roads running my SxS in backcountry Colorado, but nothing even close to this epic journey. Awesome job Chad.
Nice video duder! Just got back from that drive yesterday, Atigun Pass was closed for 2 days cause trucks were stuck on the hill and avalanches came down and I was stuck in a blizzard at the DOT station lol
@@LivingTheVanLife yup! hung out with the DOT station boys at the pass, they drove me up to check out the carnage, then I hit a caribou on the way back and somehow got that on film lol pretty wild trip
Im not sponsored either but once i found out the magic of preasure cookers i recommend them to everyone and have gifted an instant pot last christmas actually. The fact you can cook mash potaoes with less the a cup of water blew my mind, they even taste better becasue they're not soaked in water, so much more efficient, perfect for van life now after seeing toast being made with it... nice! the most versatile cooking insturment on the planet.
Chad, it's so awesome to see your adventures again. I lost track of you. I don't know what happened. I'm so happy I found you again! I've been binge watching lol 😆 Safe travels. And keep on trucking 💪

What a coincidence!

This series is actually better than last year’s, it’s mind boggling it doesn’t generate more views.
