I finally got one after occasionally popping into Swatch stores for ages. Instead of the other times when I’d purposefully gone out of my way to try and get one, I happened to be meeting a friend on Oxford Street and thought I’d quickly stop by the Swatch store while I waited, only to queue up and not only get a Moonswatch but specifically the Saturn which was always the one I had wanted and I had been told that the other store hadn’t had it in months. I wear it all of the time, I know lot of of people have criticised it for feeling cheap and plasticky which it is but I don’t care, it’s comfortable on the wrist and looks great. I hope to be able to get more!
Look past the (dying) hype and you’ll find a massively overpriced, poorly made plastic watch. They feel like toys. The Bulova Lunar Pilot is a piece with genuinely interesting spaceflight history and it can be picked up for not much more money.
Indeed, a plastic, euh bio-ceramic moonSwatch sold at 25 times the production cost. Only has to look the part for the instagram generation, it can't even be serviced, so please recycle your plastic !
Your comment indicates that you already own or have interacted with this watch. Therefore why are you watching a review of it? Were you looking for someone to validate your opinion? Or did you come here simply to leave a negative comment? I’m genuinely interested
@@dominicrusho that’s a weird response. You saw the title and you clearly don’t “love” this watch. Therefore you watching this video and taking the time to comment on it, is kinda illogical. But yeah okay pal
Hi David I actually picked up two of these I got from my wife for father's day the mission to the moon version and I got my wife for her birthday the mission to Venus in the pink. We have both loved ours great for warm weather very cool and lightweight
Great reviews! I also got the Mission to Earth a few months ago because I love that color combo. It’s a fun watch for a summer day poolside or at the beach 😎
Fun that you got one! I've also been trying to get my hands on one, with no luck so far (I don't want to buy it from eBay). A really fun concept that surely is beneficial for both of the brands! / Klaus
I love my “Earth” too. Kinda hard to read the time in darker environments. Then again if your a lover of Bond, James Bond, you might need your readers for most watches during the eve anyway. That’s why I bought the Tudor BBay Ceramic.
I read the reviews on initial release, rated cheap & poor quality that wears out pretty quickly. I also note that you can now readily buy them & at half price. Not sure what Omega was thinking when they decided to do this. Cheapening the brand. I know they are part of the same family. Imaging Rolex getting into bed with Timex.
I got the black Moon one back in July but my opinion of it faded fast as it did for many watch reviewers. I haven't worn it much because many critics say it scratches fast, the crowns break off and you really should replace the strap with a Nato. For those who think Omega made a mistake with these though, remember Swatch owns Omega so Swatch was in the driver seat on this and drove the decision process. It was a phenomenal marketing tactic for exposure for Swatch that eventually died off. Unless you are a collector collecting all of them, $260 can get you a better watch that will last you longer. This is a toy with the Swatch & Omega names on it.
This is a watch that I sadly have not gotten, but hats off to swatch/omega! It spurred me to buy a bond omega seamaster midsize, as well as a seamaster 120 from the same period!
To each his own childhood experience. 😊. To you it’s those figures. To me it reminds me of the classic Russian military aircraft cockpit colors I saw in Jane’s IDR.
Baikonur green ... a plastic, euh bio-ceramic moonSwatch sold at 25 times the production cost. Only has to look the part for the instagram generation, it can't even be serviced, so please recycle your plastic !
I drove all the way to the King of Prussia mall when this got released, and the line was all the way out of the mall! So I didn't manage to get one! But I love the look of them, and I was really excited about the idea of getting the Moon one and putting a NATO strap on it. I think for Bond fans it's a great product because you get to legitimately wear something with Omega on it, but you're not paying the price of a small car for it. I don't like the velcro strap and I'm not fond of all the other planets (including Earth) because the colors are a bit WOAH - but the Moon one is really classy and understated and I'd be excited to wear one if I could find it! Great video - really feel like I got a better feel for what it would be like to have one of these! Like, I didn't think it would be as light as you describe it.
I have the mission on earth and put a rubber strap like the one that comes with the seamaster diver 300m. It fits perfectly and makes the watch actually wearbale, versus the very cheap feeling strap it comes on. Highly recommended!

Oh, by the by, my favorite Bond is Connery. That’s how you can tell a Bond fan’s age. 😂 David your favorite Bond looks like it might be Brosnan. Fun vid.
I like it, I have a Omega Speedmaster and truth be told. I'm frightened to wear it as much as I want, not only is it relatively valuable in money terms, it was a gift from my Dad (So it also holds sentimental value like no other watch in my collection) With this Swatch (I really like the mission to the Moon) I can wear it more casually everyday without the fear of damaging it.and still get that tingle. I would swap out the strap for a Goldfinger or Spectre Nato strap.
So do you never wear your Rolex? Mine comes out only for special occasions … Otherwise i look for “interesting” choices…. “Casio royale”… Vostok (pre invasion purchase)… etc
I am close to the only swatch store in Australia. Took me many visits to get a few and in the end the hype wasn't worth it. Moon, Mercury and maybe the highly sort after dark blue ones are the only ones worth getting. Shame that the knock off's in China produced them in a better quality more sturdy crystal that didn't scratch. But from a marketing stand point, it was genius
This the one replica that I had zero hesitation about. My $40 aliexpress Mission to the Moon is literally better made than my wife’s Mission to Mars that her boss gifted her. I love the look but as soon as you pick it up the excitement drains completely.
There was no way I was going to pay $260 for this toy watch! So like you, I purchased one on Ali for $30 and was quite shocked at how good it was. The box too! $30 is all this watch is worth.
I wouldn't wash the car in it. I don't think they're very robust. I'm in the UK and I've given up hope of getting one now. We're miles from any swatch store!
I think this is a really nice collaboration that makes sense. Its an Omega thats affordable. A chance for all to enjoy an entry level Omega of there own if they choose. I really like it. That said i'll still get my Bond fix & enjoyment from wearing my Casio AE1200 aka Casio Royale....aka Octopussy homage watch.
Bizarre why Omega did this, having these Swatch watches with “Omega” branding only cheapens the Omega name and does not elevate the Swatch name. I have no problem with Swatch and owned a few back in the 80s/90s....
You got be careful buying those outside of a Swatch store, the number of fakes out there si alarming but if you bought it yourself or someone you know on a Swatch store you're most likely fine.
To me, this isn't a watch you wear. Looks way too cheap to withstand the use of daily wear. This is just something you put on a shelf and display. Like Sheen from Jimmy Neutron would say, keep it mint in box!
The watch is an overpriced hot piece of garbage that is taking away the quality workmanship of Omega, and trading the brand name on making a quick buck
If you feel like that why are you here ? Secondly it hardly takes away from omegas “workmanship” nobody who was gonna buy an omega would be turned away by them doing a collaboration with a swatch….Did the Versace/H&M collaboration take away from Versace ? Shame you can't get them online at Swatch.
Wear the Speedy and enjoy it. If they can survive going to the moon they can survive daily wear. Parts can always be replaced if needs be.
It's actually the Swatch you have to be careful of. It will scratch if you breathe on it too hard.
