I have a Johnson, bought it in 2003-4. Nicely made workhorse. Recently got Epiphone pup set from aliexpress. Quality can be similar

I have the IYV IJZ-300 and it's a great guitar, except for the fret leveling/dressing that was required and the volume pot that failed after 3 months. I just got the Grote LPF 002 two days ago and there is no comparison between the two guitars. Having the coil-split option and the stainless steel frets puts the Grote in a class above the IYV. The build quality is much better on the Grote, although the build quality on the $192 IYV is impressive for the money. My IYV-IJZ300 will going on FB Marketplace real soon.

Nice guitar, having that Matt finish allows for some nice woody tones, the lighter the finish the more resonance the wood has, can't wait to hear how it sounds,I have the same type of guitar the IYV jazz box thin line and it's one of my favorite,it has a gloss finish though, this is very tempting, but I'm trying to keep from buying the same type of guitar, in different colors or finishes, I'm not a big fan of push pull single coil sounds, but it might work for this guitar.

Very nice, I'm looking forward to hearing it! Is the finish similar to the matte 335 clones they are selling? I have one of those in the worn green, with P90s, and I like it a lot. I also have the IYV so I definitely don't need this, but I might consider consolidating if the sound is good. The coil-splitting is a very cool feature, especially if it means that the extra cost over those other models went to better electronics and pickups.

I will keep my IYV jazz box, much easier to ding a matte finish guitar, and I'm not a big fan of push pull pots, plus the price is twice what I paid for the gloss IYV thinline jazz box,the humbucking pickups sound great, not that this isn't a nice guitar, but I never try to buy two of the same types of guitars, comes a time when you just have to say, no more.

I hear you. I really like my IYV IJZ 300 and would like to get a natural one since I prefer natural unstained guitars. I am also a huge fan of Grote guitars. This will be my 8th one. They are well built and a joy to play. I was nervous about this being narrow like their LP models. I’m a big guy and some guitars look like a toy on me so this guitar looks and feels great to me

My hands cramp on a thin neck, and I've seen 2 reviewers who state that these have a thin neck. Can anybody give me neck thickness front to back (NOT nut width) at the 1st and 12th frets

Could you please measure the nut width?

I appreciate you watching the video. I’m working hard at building my RUclips channel. Please share it with your friends and family. I will also measure the nut width and report back
