All my teen years were in the 80's and I always loved "I Ran", but only truly discovered A Flock of Seagulls this year. Really, I'm in complete awe of Paul Reynolds on guitar. Mike Score might have been the creative force behind the band, but we wouldn't be listening today if it weren't for Paul's talent. He was just a kid (20 yo in this video) but was the 'wings' for these seagulls, and set them apart from other New Wave synth bands! :) I know it's mentioned elsewhere, but Paul Reynolds as a guitarist and his contribution to music is underrated and underrecognized.

Mike score himself said a Flock of Seagulls was not a new wave synth band. That’s why they have their own sound.

Forty years on and this sounds better than anything in the charts in 2022 ! And I defy anyone to say otherwise. A band who were better live than in the studio. They worked well together, but for me it was Paul Reynolds guitar that stood out and gave AFOS their distinctive sound:

It all went downhill when Paul Reynolds left the band. But looking at it in hindsight it was a very mature decision for a guy in his early 20s. And the best thing is... he is still around! Sadly, he suffered a stroke two years ago but he seems to be alright now.

    • @AJ17_

Paul said on VH1's Bands Reunited that leaving the band was probably one of the best decisions he ever made, because if he had kept going, he might not be here today.

Man, all people say Paul's underrated and that's completely true, what an incredible guy and he's my inspiration, but they forget to mention to Frank Maudsley, that man had a unique style and played well in all songs. Further, he always had a special connection with Reynolds on the stage. Both guys gave a special soul to the band. Obviously, I'm not underappreciating to Score brothers that were the beginning of this band and great musicians.

People talk a lot about Randy Rhodes, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix all dying young and wondering how much better they could've been. Paul Reynolds' story is almost more tragic, the touring just killed it for him. I wonder what they would've written if the industry had been kinder to the musical talent.

I missed seeing them live in the 80's as I was too young but so glad they are still around. Wish the original line up would perform live. At least they perform together still when they get in the studio. This brings back so many great memories of that time.

A rebroadcast but not recent, this is straight off a VHS that I recorded from an analogue satellite broadcast in 1992, 32 years ago.

I was growing in my mother’s womb. I came out 7 months later in June of ‘83. It’s wild to look back and think. I’m just thankful I know and accept Jesus Christ, because He’s my Savior and I am excited to spend eternity with Him in Heaven and the New Earth! I might sound crazy, but I assure you there’s nothing crazy about God’s plan. The only thing crazy would be not accepting Him as Lord and Savior and choosing Hell instead of His home, Paradise (Heaven). ♥✞♥

Sorry to say this is the only one worth uploading. The only other show I have is from Santiago Chile, 2004, it's straight off the master tape, but terrible quality due to being privately shot.

@@ScottishTeeVee How about a scorpions concert, (anything except the colosseum one in 1985). I believe they have many great concerts just not on RUclips

@@TheSpartanboy10 I have lots of Scorpions videotape, but ages ago I uploaded a full show and it was blocked from YT before it even got made public, so I gave up on video by them. Some bands try to block everything which is crazy as it's them who get the cash earned from any videos on YT and RUclips pays more more per stream than Spotify etc.
