But doing what's best for competition and the associated business isn't always the same as doing what's most likely to help you defend yourself in a self defense situation. Street fights are incredibly dynamic and unpredictable with a lot more potentially at stake than simply ending a fighter's career.
@btkenobi2 Just about any awful thing a person could do to another could in some way be avoided by what would be considered dirty or unethical tactics in competition. I've never understood why people try to compare the two. One is bound by rules of honor and fair play while the other only happens in the absence of those things.
It is a good move. That and eye pokes. I think both are bad for mma but great for fighting. I understand the point of brutality in the ring but it's kind of like the NFL and quarterbacks. If you don't protect them you might lose too many good ones and not have enough talent left.
@@coachkajan I get what your saying but in my opinion the knee kick is too much. To me it's hard to draw that line of what is and what isn't too devastating of a move when I really think about it. Like you said even over hand rights cause a lot of injury. I guess they just limit the moves available to help conserve their talent pool. Idk
@coachkajan, the knee stomp is too easy and too safe to pull off for how rewarding it is, and that's the problem with it, its stupid risk to reward ratio

Yeah like your freedom, possibly your life.

@@shadrach1999 for sure. I'm in agreement

Probably should stop overhand rights then as well. Too many concussions and orbital fractures.

I think banning techniques limits the martial arts displayed - for example there is already massive advantages if youre a grappler
Teach discipline and respect before martial techniques
Come on, that’s Michael Key!
