An actual guide for a boss that doesn’t involve exploiting throwables. Actually improved my game against him immediately. Still haven’t won yet but I’m getting closer
Yes, and/or using a specter. If people want to use those tools that's fine, they're in the game for a reason. But you can do that for literally every boss and the strategy is pretty much the same every time. It's nice to see a guide for actually fighting the damn thing.
Throwables aren't an exploit; they're a mechanic. They cost Ergo. That means they cost levels. You are literally throwing your level-ups at a boss. That means spamming throwables will consistently make you weaker the further through the game you are. I say this as someone that spams throwables at bosses.
I thought I was billy badass up until this boss. First couple tries, I thought “okay this guy is a skill check” but after maybe 10 attempts, it’s clearly an rng nightmare.
Beat him after a few more attempts. Respec’d my p-organ to fill out some inconsistencies, and made sure to use puppet string and fable arts to their fullest. No ampules or throwables needed.
@@cool-dh7wj sorry that I missed your comment, friend! I hope you were able to beat him. I didn’t have a good grasp on the p-organ system at the time so I just synergized it to fit my motivity build. I ended up stopping the game at Laxasia 😩 I just don’t have the patience
Pretty much any boss with more than 1 or 2 attacks can be considered an "RNG nightmare". Most bosses in these games will generally be RNG based, that's how many games work. The issue with this boss is that some of the attacks it has are so bad and poorly animated that you can't tell when to defend.
Most of the arenas in this game are just waaay too small. Once a boss chains me into a corner and the camera is up their ass, I’m like “yup, time to cheese this with specter and throwables”
Wrong. *Most* of the arenas are big enough. THIS bosses arena is too small. Also, getting put into a corner can also be your own fault. You should strafe more and move more to avoid it as much as possible.
Swamp monster constantly moves backwards, though. If you're getting stuck in corners then it's probably your fault for not having positional awareness.
Oddly enough, one thing that's really helped me in all these boss fights is saying "guard, guard, dodge, guard..." when fighting! The word and animation help to sync up that button hit for more consistent PGs!
I love guides like these because I can learn their attack patterns without having to play it 10 times to learn them all. So many times I get super far into the boss but then get deleted by some op move I hadn't seen yet
Learning it by yourself is the fun part though. (I'm reading the comments of the vid after I finished the boss myself) Obviously play whichever way you want though.

Feels crazy watching a guide for the boss seeing a guy who can perfect parry 80% of the attacks and he still only beats it by the skin of his teeth. What an awfully designed boss
When he shakes his head in the first phase, a much better punish is to just start sprinting against his face. You will stick right to him as he backs up and all his attacks will go over your head and you can hit him with a charged R2 (or anything else you want). It looks cool too ;)

I think the reason boss fights are so hard in this game is because they want you to use the specter there's even a progression system for that particular use case. Extremely hard bosses even harder than Dark Souls bosses.
If youre like me and struggled with the parry timings of the 2nd phase. I just hunted the rush attack and the jump red attack. You HAVE to parry the rush attack. But after each of those you have time for a charged heavy and a fast heavy. It took way longer but it was a lot safer because i only perfected the 3 hit combo like 60% of the time because I got jumpy.
Great video. I can get second phase now w most health cannisters... and take him about halfway down, not wanting to use specter friend. That said I was brain dead on the charge thinking I had to dodge it, but you just block like first phase. Seems to ding him pretty good and he doesn't follow up with the red charge where he rolls around. I can't wait to finally beat this sucker. Great video, I think I got it from here. ✌️
Took me 2 goes. I used spectre and fire dagger only first phase. Second phase seems harder, so throwables, flame dagger and spectre with cube wish to revive spectre. There's no shame in using throwables and the help of spectre. They're part of the game. The game is meant to be enjoyed how you enjoy it 😊 People need to remember, this is not bloodborne or souls or that Japanese one. This game is called Lies of P☺️, and I love it exactly how it is... I don't make comparisons. Beautiful on its own.
A tip for anyone wanting to beat without Summons: use a summons just to get through the first phase even if you’ve mastered it. Then just let your Spectre die and use the opportunity to practice on phase 2. My biggest issue with this boss was not wanting to experiment or learn the patterns from ohase 2 because phase 1 had already exhausted me
For anyone struggling witht his boss i beat him like this (without specter) I changed my build. Intially i had more focus on motivity and technique but for this fight put some points to advance Level-87 (not sure if this overleveled but i am just a casual player😅) Vit-25 Vig- 21 Capacity -20 Mot-20 Tech-18 Advance-22 I just used saber blade and dancer curved handle First phase For this phase mostly i just avoided all his attacks just try to be always to your right avoid the tentacle attack he has an animation before he does that and there is one attack he does where he spits acid again move to your right as much as possible and hit him. Second phase One of the cruel phase.i avoided being near to him most of the times and used all my throwables.,legion arm-falcon eyes (yeah ik i'm a medicore player have as much throwables as you can!!) Only time i was near him was he does unblockable attack by doing a roll so only that time gave him a few hits because he will not be immediately attacking otherwise stay away from him So repeat this proces with safe slashes + legion arm + throwables for 2nd phase Then i got the stagger window did few slashes followed by fatal attack and immediately used my fables arts to finsih him (save your fable arts) I had amulets to increase max stamina, quick stamina recovery, damage booster. Also in second phase once it starts immediatley sharpen your blade for durability Hope this helps someone
Very well done. you are skilled and still had a rough time. I'm watching this video because I just attempted my first try and died so now I am watching playthroughs. I did get to the second phase with a Spector though. Wish me luck
In phase one It is much easier to just dodge when he does the standing up swipe attack combo, I only perfect parry when he does the 3 slam down combo with the red attack at the end. You get a lot more hits in by dodging the swipe combo.
the key to the 2nd phase is to keep the boss close so he doesn’t do the unparriable charge attack 3 times in a row. Keep some shot puts handy as well if you need a few hits to finish him off.
This is the only boss I haven’t been able to beat in less than 5 attempts. First boss that’s actually hard. E: I just gave up and used a summon. I know. Unforgivable. Summons really do make LoP, ER and DS stupid ez.
after watching this guide, i managed to kill this boss after 5 tries (total 11) and it was actually really fun and challenging especially the 2nd phase. 8.5/10 would reccomend
The fact that people search for tutorials to then have the audacity to diss casuals for using items provided by the game is just so sad to witness 😂 Like.. if you that good, why are you here? 💀 On that bombshell: Great job btw! Love the videos! ❤
Grohlvana came through for me, again. I didn't think I was ready, cuz I run away from the charge, 2nd phase, instead of standing ground and blocking, and I was ready to test my new approach to the nasty 'step' attack, but I didn't have to even try to deflect the step attack, and I made it through. I spent about a day and a half, working on this boss. Green Monster of the Swamp the hardest fight so far, by a lot. Basically, did everything Grohlvana does. The jumping around, 2nd phase, makes no sense to me, though. NG+ gonna be a pain.
ill have to implement this when i try to fight this guy next! I honest to god didnt know you could perfect guard the red attacks. I always just tried to avoid those
Good guide thanks! Extremely annoying boss but after many many attempts I actually quite like it, it forces you to learn and get gud. Still very annoying when the red circle (for fatal attack) appears in a place you cannot reach, either blocked by the boss or out of bounds for the player :-\
Honestly i lost to this boss more times that i would like to admit to the point where i wanted to just give up and use summons, but watching how he beat it and reading in the comments how many people were expiriencing the same thing i regain my confidence and was able to beat it next try
In the beginning when you walk in just take few steps and use fully upgraded Deus Ex Machina arm to put all the bombs to the ground and when he rushes towards you to the bombs fully charge R2 2 times, then for the weapon use +9 motivity crancked exploding pickaxe handle + Bone-Cutting Sawblade and the first phase is gone in no time. And when the second phase begins use fire grindstone for the weapon and just keep distance to him and run towards him sometimes to get few attacks on him and try to use perfect parry when close, and keep elixir that boosts your immunity to the poison he uses and potions to cure it.
Hardest boss in the game 🤔 i beat him with 40 vitality and used the specter as a distraction!! And keep your blade shard and use the falcon eye!!! Hope that helps
Our play styles are completely different. I don’t think I’ve blocked a single monster up to this boss, aside from tutorial monsters of course. Obviously following along with your guides is more for entertainment purposes than for application for me
I spent an hour and a half fighting the green monster. He is the boss I have struggled with the most so far. And finally once I beat it. The cutscene started and my heart dropped… then the second phase guy just rammed me and I died… Still I am struggling so hard with the first phase and have only seen second phase twice both being without any health. this boss fucking sucks.
Just beat this fight after a 2 hour grind, immediately went online to see what i was missing to make it easier. Parrying the charge is so fucking important holy shit, i just ran away from it and that only sometimes works and hardly works even then. Didn't even really occur to me to try parrying it
RNG nightmare or RNG Heaven - there is nothing in between. But if you're going to experience the nightmare there is either two straight red rushes at the beginning (which is very annoying and also very rare) and it keeps pushing you to the edge of the map and you cant escape. And there is everything with poison 😭😭😭 I need some more time to learn the second phase.
I got one fight where the thing just do contant whip attacks nothing else🥲 and some I stagger it really fast, the arena is so small I got caught between legs and the wall when I staggered it and can't get out to the red circle place
BRO. Sunbros. I've killed many a boss. And when I tell you I am average, but serviceable at best in a Soulslike boss fight, you can take it to the bank. That said, I really felt like I had progressed in my combat by leaps & bounds when I walked into this boss fight, sliced through 2/3 of the swamp whores health before getting killed, then on my 2nd try (Reminder: I like to go specter/summon free) but I DELETED this boss on my 2nd try. Or so i thought. See, when I got it past 50% health and there was no cut scene, I thought, Oh cool, another 1 stage boss; I was gravely wrong. This thing rammed its decaying fist spike rope thing so far in my anus, I felt like my character was giving birth. I mean, it happened so fast, I thought I was being punked. I will now save and regroup, after about 5 more tries. The 2nd phase of this boss, FOR ME, was Lies of P's developers telling me to go home, get my lunchbox & return with a plan that doesn't involve me getting digitally donkey punched across this God forsaken wasteland. FML
Dark souls boss: hard but clear strategies to beat mostly all of them, feel rewarding afterwards, fair fight Lies of P bosses: tries to find how to piss me off in the quickest way possible

@@geocentricsense5287 I mean you do you, for me it just does not feel like an accomplishment after using co op aggro pulls to beat a boss. I like it when I can learn the boss patterns and feel myself reacting better, not just looking for when it is "my turn". Except gank fights, fuck them and I do understand everyone who summons for this.
@@humonchronos9048 i don't use summons because its literally saying "i cant beat this boss" but this game is annoying because it just makes the bosses insanely hard and expects you to use summons. i feel like a hitless run without cheesing bosses might be almost impossible for this game
@@evlin12 the elitism in souls games is so laughable :D
You got lucky there with 1hp! Amazing guide thx. Just got through phase 1 thx to you. Taking a break now LoL so though!
Great guide. I mastered the first phase after watching this. Now onto the second!
First phase was easy but the second holy hell was it annoying
Great video. I can get second phase now w most health cannisters... and take him about halfway down, not wanting to use specter friend. That said I was brain dead on the charge thinking I had to dodge it, but you just block like first phase. Seems to ding him pretty good and he doesn't follow up with the red charge where he rolls around. I can't wait to finally beat this sucker. Great video, I think I got it from here. ✌️
Nice!
Took me 2 goes. I used spectre and fire dagger only first phase. Second phase seems harder, so throwables, flame dagger and spectre with cube wish to revive spectre.
There's no shame in using throwables and the help of spectre. They're part of the game.
The game is meant to be enjoyed how you enjoy it 😊
People need to remember, this is not bloodborne or souls or that Japanese one.
My biggest issue with this boss was not wanting to experiment or learn the patterns from ohase 2 because phase 1 had already exhausted me
Yeah, that's a common thing in these games, phase 1 fatigue.
For anyone struggling witht his boss i beat him like this (without specter)
I changed my build. Intially i had more focus on motivity and technique but for this fight put some points to advance
Level-87 (not sure if this overleveled but i am just a casual player😅)
Vit-25
Vig- 21
Capacity -20
Mot-20
Tech-18
Advance-22
I just used saber blade and dancer curved handle
First phase
For this phase mostly i just avoided all his attacks just try to be always to your right avoid the tentacle attack he has an animation before he does that and there is one attack he does where he spits acid again move to your right as much as possible and hit him.
Second phase
One of the cruel phase.i avoided being near to him most of the times and used all my throwables.,legion arm-falcon eyes (yeah ik i'm a medicore player have as much throwables as you can!!)
Only time i was near him was he does unblockable attack by doing a roll so only that time gave him a few hits because he will not be immediately attacking otherwise stay away from him
So repeat this proces with safe slashes + legion arm + throwables for 2nd phase
Then i got the stagger window did few slashes followed by fatal attack and immediately used my fables arts to finsih him (save your fable arts)
I had amulets to increase max stamina, quick stamina recovery, damage booster.
Also in second phase once it starts immediatley sharpen your blade for durability
Hope this helps someone
Very well done. you are skilled and still had a rough time. I'm watching this video because I just attempted my first try and died so now I am watching playthroughs. I did get to the second phase with a Spector though. Wish me luck
Finally beat this boss after about 30 attempts. I used the Bone Cutting Sawblade and handle +6, a Specter, and the Specter HP Cube.
I dig the deflect based combat strat you are using for this series.
In phase one It is much easier to just dodge when he does the standing up swipe attack combo, I only perfect parry when he does the 3 slam down combo with the red attack at the end. You get a lot more hits in by dodging the swipe combo.
Finally a guy playing without shade or throwables. ♥ Instant like.
Loved that you made a guide and didn’t summon help! Subscribed!
Welcome to the channel!
the key to the 2nd phase is to keep the boss close so he doesn’t do the unparriable charge attack 3 times in a row.
Nice kill and exceptional video explaining his mechanics. Keep up the good work
This entire video was so impressive also great commentary good job my good sir!
after watching this guide, i managed to kill this boss after 5 tries (total 11) and it was actually really fun and challenging especially the 2nd phase. 8.5/10 would reccomend
I can get thru the first phase no hit but that second phase.. mannnn what!!
yup, that second phase is a nightmare
The fact that people search for tutorials to then have the audacity to diss casuals for using items provided by the game is just so sad to witness 😂
Like.. if you that good, why are you here? 💀
On that bombshell:
Great job btw! Love the videos! ❤
dropped the game for weeks because of this guy…. came back to try again… almost did it but nope
nvm just beat it holy…. Was rushing phase 2 way too much
I have beat every souls game, every boss. I cannot get past this boss.
After 1.30 hour i DID IT YAHHHHHHHH
GG!
This boss is so creepily designed, my body physically can’t fight this guy without getting the spider itches 💀💀
ill have to implement this when i try to fight this guy next! I honest to god didnt know you could perfect guard the red attacks. I always just tried to avoid those
The fire grindstone can help a lot on phase one.
Thank you for this. Souls noob has spent 5 days on this boss.
I'm also going the non-specter route. props on this W some awesome gaming here.
Thanks!
Great job!! Finally a propper guide!
Add a little fire stone grinder to your blade and bust out the Flamberg for some extra damage to make Phase 1 go quicker.
GG!
Main issue was the charge attack for me so thanks for this!
1:29 after parrying the first 2 attacks you can instead run behind and get 2 free heavies while he is hitting the air
The second phase he just destroys me
Our play styles are completely different. I don’t think I’ve blocked a single monster up to this boss, aside from tutorial monsters of course.
Obviously following along with your guides is more for entertainment purposes than for application for me
Bro, how is this not too difficult, you were sweating hard for 10 minutes straight, and barely made it with 0 heals. This was insane!
Dude you are such a legend at this game!
On the 40th attempt now. This game is just addictive.
I spent an hour and a half fighting the green monster. He is the boss I have struggled with the most so far. And finally once I beat it. The cutscene started and my heart dropped… then the second phase guy just rammed me and I died…
Still I am struggling so hard with the first phase and have only seen second phase twice both being without any health. this boss fucking sucks.
You do the Lord's work, sir.
Just beat this fight after a 2 hour grind, immediately went online to see what i was missing to make it easier.
Parrying the charge is so fucking important holy shit, i just ran away from it and that only sometimes works and hardly works even then. Didn't even really occur to me to try parrying it
I found more efficient tactic at the 4 hit combo to block 2 hits, then run on the back and hit 2 heavy attacks.
The decay is the problem? I thought it was the hits and combos!😂
Can’t believe how I kicked his ass fairly easily after having seen your video. Thanks a lot mate! 🙏🏼
GG!
RNG nightmare or RNG Heaven - there is nothing in between. But if you're going to experience the nightmare there is either two straight red rushes at the beginning (which is very annoying and also very rare) and it keeps pushing you to the edge of the map and you cant escape.
And there is everything with poison 😭😭😭
I need some more time to learn the second phase.
FML
Dark souls boss: hard but clear strategies to beat mostly all of them, feel rewarding afterwards, fair fight
Lies of P bosses: tries to find how to piss me off in the quickest way possible
I love how all your guides are how to actually get good and learn where to dodge/guard as well as the telegraphed movesets, instead of how to cheese
this is the best lies of p guide! thanks
