Honestly I wouldn’t watch a preview trailer cos I find them spoiler-y. And who has time to watch a 2 minute video just to find out the videos coming. Would rather just the community tab posts and ig posts. Maybe a schedule of coming up on the 2nd try homepage so when I open it up I know what’s coming soon

I knew it wasn't clickbait because I was aware that they had some issue with the app, captions, communications, etc. from reading comments, AMA on IG, etc. Not to mention that the launch of almost anything new will have issues. I'm glad they are letting us about the issues, what they did wrong, what went right, what they need to do, etc.

Agreed! Miles brings such a great energy that really works well with the others, and I get the theme song to his advice segment stuck in my head all the time! He's definitely a core part of the group at this point and I'm so glad he came back.
i love these episodes of the trypod: ned leaving, eugene’s final appearance. basically anything where we get behind the scenes insights or personal moments. i remember zach talked about zadico’s failure and rly enjoying the thought process behind it
me too !! its so fascinating and its great to have a lil tiny itty bitty break from their personas and have a lil more insight on the business side of things. Truly shows how much the guys know which I always appreciate
Just want to let you know that as a blind and Hard of Hearing person, the attention you pay to accessibility is appreciated. RUclips's captions aren't the worst out there by far, but they're not really that accurate either, so I really appreciate you wanting to have a human do it to make it more comprehensible. I realize I've got an unfortunate double whammy of disabilities for watching most media content, and that sucks, but companies and people who do their best to make it less of an issue is huge. It'll never be perfect, but what is? I can see enough to recognize who the person speaking is (mostly!) and hear enough to get the gist of what's going on, but having the subs and the way the lighting and color palate are set up is really something I notice and feel included about. So thank you to everyone on the team making fun stuff my disabled weird self can enjoy! It means a lot more than you probably think it does.
As a fan who has 2nd try and has watched try guys back since buzz feed, I want to suggest creating a show where we can see a lot of the new 2nd try personalities mixing all together like a game show or something of the sorts. I think this is what mythical and smosh do so well is having a cast and crew that the audience loves and we also feel like we are watching a group of friend working together. Right now you have a bunch of amazing personalities but it doesn’t feel like a concise group of try guys yet.
And I say cast and crew because I think a lot of the regular audience members already love rainy, Kaylin and Desiree, and Rachel as a fun additional voice to videos! 🫶🏼

Escape the kitchen and trolly problem are my two favourite things you guys make at the moment. I also do love the lie detector silliness. The only things about 2nd try that I don't like are no comment section and that I can't cast it to stuff. The community aspect of RUclips videos is why I end up watching most things that are out on both here and the stuff that comes out later twice (ik there's a discord but that's not the same as specific videos and discord annoys me too much to use).

Though I should share I have a few discord conversations with friend groups and other patrons and I just am not into the discord format. It just doesn’t work for me and annoys me but I will still do it for the friend chats but I would rather use a different format, idk what that would be but it’s an annoyance I will put up with
@@heatherchannel1368 I have a regular android phone but no option to cast online or on the app. I just checked again to make sure and there's no option to for me. I can mirror my whole phone onto the TV but that's annoying do so I've been watching on my laptop.
I'm not in America so I guess that could be the reason why I can't if you're supposed to be able to but I can't think of any other reason why.
14:20 Zach is completely right on the money abour password sharing. I literally open Netflix once every 2 months to maybe watch 1 movie. But i still pay for it because my parents and best friend back home have profiles and use it. And none of them have money to buy their own Netflix. So I keep paying for it for their benefit. How did you get around Netflix's password sharing ban? I was on my parents' Netflix for the longest time and rarely used it, then one day I went on there and started a series and the next day when I tried to continue the series, Netflix said I wasn't part of the primary household so I couldn't watch anymore. I shrugged it off for months, but eventually I caved and got Netflix with ads, so I guess they won 😅
@@cael_aj we just got lucky and they never did anything to us despite all the emails about it. Maybe cuz my parents and best friend are back home in Vzla and it's insane to assume ppl making like $100 a month would be able to afford Netflix so they didn't pursue those? No clue. The second my best friend can't watch Bridgerton, it's going BYE BYE 🤣🥴
@aleks-33 just wanted to say I think that is wonderful of you to keep Netflix for your family. What a kind/thoughtful thing to do so they can use your password. it’s the little things people do that says so much about who they are.
i think 2nd try should have the behind the scene and how you make an episode in and interview those invovled. Also maybe interviews with the restaurants you visit like a documentary style or a longer version of some episode and what was cut that is just exclusive to 2nd try. like how we used to have dvds with behind the scenes.

I love the videos where you guys talk business, it’s so interesting
i just LOVE this kind of episodes, I know Keith and Zach are CEOs but sometimes I just see them as silly little boys in the videos, then I realize the amount of knowledge and responsibility they have and its so interesting!
I must admit that I'm not the biggest fan of cooking and eating stuff, and that made me less interested in Try Guys content over the years. I mainly watch the goofy stuff, like Candid Competition and Trolley Problems.
However, I still have a lot of respect for Try Guys as company owners and public figures. It's not easy to admit the mistakes you've done along the way or be open about the struggles you face. Often it's more comfortable to just look away and pretend that the problems don't exist.
I think that, ultimately, their openness has worked for their benefit. Showing the other side of the YT work makes us viewers understand how crazy things can get bts. So kudos for that.
I'm the flip-side of the coin: I love Escape The Kitchen, Phoning It In and Without A Recipe! 😂 (Yes I also watch most of the new shows and their original "try" style videos too).
... I've been watching them on RUclips since they were in BuzzFeed and have loved the evolution, especially since the elephant was kicked out of the room. That jock/toxic masculine vibe always threw me and I'm glad they're legit being themselves (and have grown SO much) these days!
Loving all the new cast additions too 💗 Kwesi, Jonny, Marissa, Jared... Also really enjoy seeing Rachel more these days.
100% on the schedule announcement stuff. 99% of the time I only remember to check 2nd Try when I see a tiktok of a new release.
2nd try member here. 1) I miss the comments section in 2nd try. Due to that I tend to watch episodes that are available on RUclips here to see reactions and community response. I watched the Kwesi and Miles ETK and I felt so sad that I couldn’t see folks real time responses to Kwesis pyromania.
And I am signed up for a full fucking year for 2nd try love you. The only subscription for a RUclips channel or person I’ve signed up for 🎉

Ive been a Try Guys fan for almost a decade at this point, getting me through college, post grad, grad school, and covid. I havent been consuming as much content lately, but this pod has convinced me to subscribe to second try as soon as I can. I have always loved how transparent this company has been and has such beautiful talent and souls that have kept me coming back for years. Great work Second Try🎉

Yeah I miss it too but totally understand that having to moderate another platform comes with a lot of challenges of course (and honestly sometimes it's nice to have a break from potentially negative comments).
Typically I'll use the YT shorts of 2nd Try shows (or community posts about them) for commenting
Sometimes i feel like us as consumers and audiences should learn to have less opinions and comments though. Like there isn’t a comment box in movie theaters or on netflix. I can see where you’re coming from, but i kind of like how no one can argue and be annoying on 2ndTry.
@@LawnOrnament I just enjoyed seeing if others had the same thought that I might have had. I feel like I saw mostly positive comments in my opinion. It was fun to discuss parts of the video without going to Reddit which has its own vibe or joining a massive discord.
@@LawnOrnament idk man, I think when people are passionate about something, it's natural to want to discuss it with others and share excitement and thoughts and theories and all that. Dedicated fans will find those things on other platforms too, like fandom spaces on social media, but a comment section on a video is a great place to discuss that specific video. I use websites like Letterboxd and Serializd specifically because I love films and tv and want to have platforms to write my reviews and see other people's thoughts on the media I consume. Back when everyone watched the same shows on cable television, we could bring them up during water cooler conversation, but now that everyone consumes different entertainment, we look for those outlets online.
i will say that the "whats coming this week!" preview posts that you've been doing and that dropout does totally works for me! i am admittedly probably just built for that kind of schedule because im a stage manager but i think it's a nice way to layout the week's schedule with the wheres and whens that we're looking for as viewers
It'd be great if you could choose what series you can get a notification for: trolly problems, candid competition, podcasts, etc.....idk if that's possible, but an idea regardless ❤
That's a great idea! A news app I use has this system where I can pick specific topics I want prioritized in my notifications, but then it'll also notify me on really major news on top of those. Something like that might be great for a subscription app: getting to pick a few tags and shows from a list for what you want to be notified for, and then occasionally they might send a notification to everyone when there's like a big livestream or a new series premiere happening.

Give the new cast members their own shows. And have that stuff be exclusive to 2nd Try. What makes dropout so special is how they really use all of their staffs talents. And I would love to see more investment in seeing what the others can bring to the table. I love you guys, but we have seen you for years. And i can only speak for myself here but I would love to see others take the lead and you guys follow, even if it's just for a 20 min video.
You have amazing and talented people and I think if you let them take the reigns it would let us get more variety. Obviously we would still see them in normal videos on here, but I think giving Johnny a baking show where he teaches us realistic cake techniques, or Marissa does something with her acting experience. I want to see what EVERYONE can DO. Not just what happens when they get put in different situations.
You guys have tried a bunch of stuff. Have the new guys try stuff. Have them help US try new things.
Still enjoy what you guys do! But I'll be honest in I was hoping for a little more content that doesn't feel so 'youtubie'. Escape The Kitchen and Trolley Problems are great ideas. Give us more variety like that please!

So many great suggestions in the comments! I agree with we need a comment section added into the app at some point; I’d love an option to favorite episodes; and also I totally agree it would be fun (and I’m guessing planned) for the new crew to start rolling out some of their shows or doing a collaborative one in the spirit of the OG Buzzfeed days. I absolutely adore the idea of more serious episodes too that showcase skillsets like Johnny’s baking. Could be like a talent show series with rotating cast through the episodes and it could just keep going.
Zach, did want to shout out to you that you want people to go to 2nd try more and more and I find myself going into the app so much more regularly now than when I first downloaded it right at the launch. It’s great to avoid commercials, it’s a great space to see all the changes, and I can’t wait for the updates that you guys have been probably working on in the background.

My only complaint with the app is the uncertainty of when the next video is on! Sometimes they get posted EXACTLY the same time on YT, as on the app, which makes me feel like I getting jabaited to pay for the same content.
Exactly this! Often the pod is up on RUclips but not on the app. Why am I paying money to watch the pod later?!
I'm always weary of viewing platforms that try to break away from RUclips but still keep a presence on RUclips. Yes, some of the vids are "unedited" on 2nd Try, but idk how willing ppl will be with time to pay for something they can basically get for free if you're willing to wait a few days.
@@ellatakalo The pod delay is really my only complaint. I can understand the weird structure of their video release schedule, especially since the app is still really new. But they have the ad-free version of the pod on the Try Podcasts Patreon a full day early, so it should be ready to go live on the app at the same time (if not earlier) than the YT version
hey guys! i love y’all’s work so much and i’ve paid for livestreams and they were such a blast. i watch your videos for the feeling of hanging out with a buddy. no matter what you post, i’m going to watch it if it has my buddy in it. shoutout to zach i relate so much and he makes me hate myself less. but everyone in the cast and crew seems so genuine and fun. i want to add one tiny thing i’m sure you’re working on (my b if y’all already said this) and that’s that i desire comments on the app. i love the community we’ve built and i love seeing my “buddies” joke in the comments.

The entire reason I subscribed to 2nd Try was trolly problems but I’ve been rewatching all my favorites. I think you guys did great, there is always room for improvement but as a first launch the team killed it

I love to see these Behind the Scenes sort of things. I learn so much from them.
I have loved your content since the Buzzfeed days, and now as a person who wants to be a producer for theatre and digital, I learn so much from these episodes. I would really love to see an episode at the wrap of a season (of any of your shows) with details from behind the scenes. Give us some informative content of your takeaways from creating the content interspersed with some bloopers from the on screen talent, but also showcases the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes too.
Also, someone please give Rainie an interview show. I can see her doing something interviewing people and asking really interesting, insightful questions but in an approachable, quirky, fun way that is unique to the energy she brings to the channel.

You literally know nothing about me. I’m about to go feed by chickens and work in my garden and then run to the feed store to get hay for my goats. Then later today finish my acrylic wall mural and maybe work on my indie dev game. My life is huge and fulfilled and wonderful and yes! I like to listen to long form audio content to keep me entertained while I walk through my acreage of forest and nature.

Push notifications are great. I also have dropout and they send them for every episode that drops and I really like it.
I agree with the point about scheduling, it's not a big deal to me, but I pretty much just rely on clips coming up on TikTok to tell me when there's a new video on 2nd Try! (Thanks Cailyn!)

Feedback for 2nd try app: I would LOVE a visual queue in some way to show the videos I’ve already fully watched. Could the thumbnail gray out? Or a check mark? I get overwhelmed being like, have I watched that? But love the app overall!

Will WAR live finale be an exclusive? Yes, a consistent schedule would really be helpful. Especially for those of us who don't have 2nd Try TV app. We're always waiting for when 2nd Try TV stuff will be on YT free. Also some people were confused about what would eventually be on YT free. Some people thought that videos with Eugene would not ever be on YT free. Even though it's over a month later there is still some people don't know that non exclusive content will be YT free eventually. There are some don't even realize that there will be some exclusive content.
Just want to let you know as a 2nd Try subscriber, I still watch TryPod on Thursdays. Thursday is TryPod day. And I watch it on the streamer for no ads, but I let the RUclips one run in a different tab with the sound off at the same time, both so you get a view, but also so it's shown as viewed in my feed.
Personally it’s the price, in Australia it’s $7 a month or $70 a year. And here Amazon has just increased is price to $79. Therefore I’m viewing it in that light. Also it’s per month $15 for YouTub, $20 for Netflix, $10 for binge ect. Yes if you share its over all a better price but if you have very little friends, it’s just not affordable in that terms. I would also add it says $4.20 a month but it should say $4.20usd, so people from other countries aren’t annoyed when the price higher or lower.

I'd love it if a second try allowed you to view what videos you've already watched or how much of a video you have watched. It'd also be nice for it to save the progress of the videos you've watched, so if you want to finish it later, you don't need to start from the beginning or try to remember where you were in the video.
If 2nd Try had extras that RUclips didn't have, like behind the scenes and bloopers, I'd be more inclined to renew once my subscription ends. Since it feels the same as YT right now, I've been fine waiting til the YT episodes come out sadly.
It would be so cool to have a Joyce (or Kwesi, or Johnny, etc) playlist on 2nd Try

I have issues with the app not casting to my tv. Both apple play and chromecast. I have the same issue with Dropouts app. If you’re using the same provider, that would make sense. But FYI.
I subscribe to 2nd try but honestly, I just do it because I want to support you all and want you to be successful. I still watch most of the stuff via YT though. I miss the chats/conversations and it just seems more convenient or I'm just a creature of comfort. lol.

I agree that the different schedule impacts habit building! I can never keep the release dates straight between 2nd try/YT, so I usually don’t open the app until I get the push notification that there’s a new vid

I'm loving second try! Getting videos 'early' before youtube is so fun and I love that you guys have more freedom to do and say what you want. I always have something to watch when I need it!
Is there a comment section on 2nd try? With such a fun fan base I feel like it would be amazing to incorporate fan driven areas. Like comment sections, fanart walls, silly polls, fan recommendations
the biggest thing you could do to help 2ndTry subscribers keep watching is some sort of notification for new episodes -- I don't use any app, just the website, I wish I could get e-mail alerts for episodes, or at least a weekly newsletter like Dropout does
This is such a fascinating discussion on production and company management and I was actually way more interested than I thought I’d be. Thanks for being so transparent but also not like ultra technical in a way that makes you seem “smarter” and like ur job is the hardest thing out there (which can be tempting to present that way) but ofc that also alienates folks. Love it

I really want to get 2nd try but there is no payment options that works for me and apple pay does not work on the site. Than on youtube it is much more expensive.
I think there should be something like a notification bell for each of the shows so that we get notifications when a new episode in those shows releases. Personally, that would get me to click into the app for my favorite shows more
18:30 I agree that this is helpful! Maybe you could make a TV guide tabe/page that lists a month or so out in the app? Could be a QR code on TVs and a page in the mobile version. That could go out to inboxes as well. Also two social media accounts perhaps? One for 2nd try with its schedule and one for RUclips?
Lastly, as a RUclips fan for many years, just have a video like this on the main channel explaining that you need to move the schedule to Tuesdays and Fridays. Or give the staff Monday off/flexible vacation hours (if Saturday happens, they get Monday off). I worked that shift for a long time and loved it. No one else was out and about on Mondays, so it made grocery shopping convenient
Adding another thought on push notifications from 27:00 - let viewers choose what series gives them push notifications instead of having an all or nothing. So, escape the kitchen they can toggle on and toggle off one they don't want. Or provide a weekly update notification that they can opt into
That is underrated info about the being able to use your phone while casting -- I also have an LG tv and the main reason I don't end up watching 2nd Try (or Dropout for that reason) is because I'm usually using my phone at the same time.
