DIY BBQ Smoker Upgrade - Adding a Fire Access Door to Ugly Drum Smoker - 55 gallon steel drum

A few years ago, I built this Ugly Drum Smoker (UDS), and it’s been my go-to for grilling and smoking meats ever since.
I absolutely love it.
In this video, I'm upgrading it with a fire access door. Over the past year, this addition has proven incredibly valuable.
The primary advantage is, of course, better fire access. However, an often overlooked benefit is the ease of cleaning the lower part of the drum with this new access point.
