Just a quick update on the confusing mechanics of the build: Overkill have informed me that Grace Period is only meant to activate upon taking damage that causes you to drop below half health (as I mention in the video.) As of right now, this is only true some of the time. When your armour breaks and you are already below half health, both immunities will activate simultaneously as your armour breaks, so you will only get 2 seconds of immunity in total. This is certainly weaker than what I describe in this video, but is not the way the deck is intended to work! Hopefully there will be a fix in the coming weeks to see just how good this synergy really can be!

Running around with this deck in challenge runs i feel would drop the difficulty a little too much, just like how Stoic trivialized the Robin Hood Challenge. Personally, for Copycat builds, I've been using Stoic ICTV cause it's basically 2/9 Stoic but you actually get a full perk deck, running all 4 health boost cards for a total of over 600 total health between armor and health.
I've been running this build for a week now, and it's really damn good. This is probably the second build ever that i got from youtube that turned out to be actually decent. This build is so powerful at times that i can destroy 2 minigun dozers back to back without even thinking and just reload the pepe bizons and clean the whole hallway out of zeal units. Doing No Mercy and undercover, rats, cook off, etc. solo has never been easier.
While I haven't been sticking it in my builds, a couple of my friends have been taking a poison-themed Gridner build I put together and adapting it using Copycat Grinder (which I find kinda funny)
Still love my dodge Biker build; constant armour gating between it and Bullseye, constantly healing up between Head Games and Biker, and that extra bit of dodge from the deck and SB along with crits? I played around with a setup like this, minus the dodge, when the deck came out. I found that since you only get 20 armor, you are always one shot away from blitzkrieg bop. This means that this ability is almost always on cool down and cannot be relied upon when you are in actual danger. With anarchist, you get a enough armor with suit and joker to take a shot from a zeal heavy and 2 from a light before blitzkrieg needs to be up. Also, anarchist has built in armor gating in terms of doing damage and just passively, which once again extends survivability. From playing, I also noticed that the 2 sec invincibility from copycat may not proc if you have a sliver of health, even when it's off cool down. For this reason, getting all hp and joker to get 2 shot heavy HP procs the invincibility a lot more reliably. This also means that your invincibility won't proc from one heavy shot at full HP, once again allowing you to tank more. I don't really know everything about this deck yet, but from my initial impressions I don't think a build like this fully takes advantage of it's strengths. I will say though I am am a pure rng dodge hater because sometimes you just get destroyed no matter what.
I get you. I was actually sceptical at first too, as an Anarchist main, hence why I didn’t give it the time of day in my first Copycat video. I’ve had tonnes of fun with this one since trying it out though!
@@TheKknowley yeah nvm. I played with a copycat dodge/blitzkrieg and due to dodge, blitzkrieg actually doesn't get procced every time so you actually can play around it pretty easy. Definitely a strong setup. I still think I prefer full HP, especially with grinder and damage over time weapons, as I think it's only way to get 3 hit heavy HP without any jokers.
I've been having a lot of fun turning non-dodge decks into dodge decks with Copycat. In particular I've really been enjoying Grinder's "Adrenaline" perk card along with max dodge running Akimbo Brothers Grimm DF shotguns and a Judge with the new Tombstone rounds in my secondary slot, serving to kill enemies at longer ranges. It's probably not DSOD viable but with how I play the game (grinding for Infamy in Overkill / Mayhem lobbies) it's really good. You don't need a lot of skill points to make the build work since you're relying on Dodge and Grinder health regen to keep alive, meaning that you can basically just grab Partners in Crime Aced and be sorted for health. Along with the basic armor skills, dodge skills, and crit skills (no Unseen Strike but Low Blow is godly) you can instead focus on getting Aced Inspire which is practically mandatory in pub lobbies. It's a really good build if you're at level 60 or so after having just gone Infamous and don't want to grind out stealth missions to power level.
If you do another TF2 run, perhaps you could do Scout? I've come up with some rules that seem fair but change as you like. -Weapons can only be double barrel shotguns, pistols, and base ball bat melees. -Your build must be based around dodge -Your only throwable can be Throwing Axes (similar to the Flying Guillotine weapon in tf2) Tune to your liking, this is just the run specific rules
This one immediatly stood out to me an it has next to nothing in skill point requirements. You have plenty of points after you get sneaky and crits to spend on any weapon class you want or jokers if you so please. Shotguns/snipers graze / smg or akimbo pistols. Very powerfull
Another pretty fun build I made is stoic dodge. If you pick hp bonus from all the decks, your hp caps at 414. Since no kevlar is needed to be used, you can make a 3 concealment crit build but with 400+ hp as backup. Although it is broken and impossible to properly balance, copycat is fun!
Kinda hope the customization is maybe a hint towards more customizable heisters. I would love a customizer tbh, having the old crew as an option as well
i took the liberty of notarising the weapon setups akimbo totonka: medved r4 suppresor concealment boost auto fire stealth laser module ak rubber grip uzi: the bigger the better suppresor concealment boost auto fire tactical foregrip stealth laser module riktpunkt magnifier compact profile sight folded stock
Honestly burglar copycat with snipers is fun and works basically as "rogue but with health regen. Especially taking double jokers, the nontarget chance gives you an easier time lining up heads.
Once I saw that Copycat let you take Dodge and 20-armour Anarchist, I knew something like this would be coming, but didn't have the time to sit down and figure out exactly how. It reminds me of a custom perk deck mod I played with once; that 1-second armour regen is *amazing* at covering the weaknesses of Dodge - if I have a 40% chance to not get hit, that means there's a 60% chance I will get hit, and that means that I'll eventually take 2 hits in a row, which for Dodge is just a death sentence. If my armour is guaranteed to recover by any amount every second though, then it doesn't matter - I'm not going to get hit 3 times in the span of a single second unless I'm doing something ungodly, especially with the game having a grace period on getting hit that I believe is 0.5s or so.
Never beaten holdout by myself. Now that I got my new account, I bet older players are wondering how an infamy 1 is carrying them lol. Thanks for the great build!
Also i recommend trying Copycat Maniac with max health from copycat other cards and joker with hostage taker aced quick fix aced and underdog aced for more demage reduction. I have managed to finish ds alaskan deal with bots with 3 downs and those downs were at the end when trying to escape with the boat.
one of the most fun things to try out with copycat is a high concealment build involving a minigun. if you play it right, the sluggish reload of the minigun will never be an issue
Tbf your anachist build from 2 ish years ago is my main to, i love being tanky. And yes i don't play DSOD but do play Deathwish. It holds up great, but i'd love to see a follow up for it :)
Damn, i really appreciate your "discovery" of Dire need and Heavy impact! These perks are a total tool, really great for Grinder builds because turning every enemy into a walking first aid kit is so much fun and i dont really need damage boosting skills with it as stun locking enemies is enough for me with Grinder as i almost never find myself with having any armor, that coupled with Copy-Cats health boosts can give you up to 460 health total, totally negating your slow health regen especially if you are careful. And withouth investing into weapon damage skills i can spend them into higher health regen, dodge, crits, drills or general survival. Great stuff.
I have a dodge sniper build planned with the northstar sniper. I just need the final perk or the deck before I toy around with it. And yes, I have use for the ammo refund on headshots with the build. Once I get the deck complete it'll be a speed demon where I don't really need to worry on ammo with good play, and the backup will be BIG GUN. If the dodge part doesn't work out, I do have other possible things to use that would make it work nicely as well.
I find that Copycat is the final Key to unleashing the potential of arguably the strongest weapon combo one could imagine: a primary, and a secondary sniper rifle; the former of course being the Thanatos .50 Cal. Using both the fast swap speed & the auto reloading feature, one can DPS away against regular enemies with the Pronghorn, and quickly 1HKO dozers (provided both faceplate & visor are removed) with the Thanatos. As for the rest of the deck, I find it plays best into an HP play-style, so 1st option card for cards 1, 3, 5 & 7, and Biker as mimic, providing some armor gating, and healing stronger than one assume, in addition to the 10 HP per headshot from the deck natively, of which one will get quite some with this build. Skills for such build come rather organically: 30 points in Medic up to inspire aced, for FAK deploy, 30 points in Controller for 2 Jokers (and even more healing), 33 points in sharpshooter (acing Ammo Efficiency, Aggressive Reload & Graze), usual Tank setup with 7 points for bullseye basic (for even more armor gating), Underdog to get 1HKO breakpoints against Tasers&Co. even up close occasionally, Duck and Cover as always, and from Silent Killer: Optical Illusion, The Professional, and High Value Target, the last of them aced, for those juicy breakpoints. And finally: Nine Lives aced. I just cannot but think that this is the way Payday 2 was always meant to be played, with this specific build so strongly profiting from both Perks and Skills, using perhaps the best weapon category in the current meta.
I'm personally a fan of Kingpin copycat, cause I can't use it otherwise. And also, since you still register hits in Grace Period, that means you can actually heal all the damage you take in that period.
I've been using copycat anarchist with all health cards, joker skills, and hostage taker aced for survivability rather than relying on dodge, since I'm not confident enough in fast-paced combat to rely on killing to survive, and I prefer to play more carefully anyway
I enjoyed seeing the ‘anarchy’ in this video. Possibly a bit random. But I wanted to figure out a sort of ‘From out of history’ build. With my weapons being the Nagant rifle and broomhandle pistol But I am not familiar enough with the games inner mechanics to get a viable build outside of medium difficulties. Unsure where to start or what to do.
When I loaded up the game I had no clue other than your first video to go off in terms of what to expect from copy cat. After looking at it my self I already knew oh yeah the high tier guys will be able to make this borderline broken at least payday2's level of broken ,we all know payday is on the level of goat simulator levels of broken Part of me feels like this is them teasing stuff to come in payday 3 tbh ethire they developed this for us to have fun for the time being or we gonna see some complex stuff in payday 3 which tbh I love about payday 2 in the first place I mean it's fun going from a turtle not knowing anything to slowly realizing the good perks or just doing your own thing
I love copycat with stoic cause you get very similar health as with regular ICTV stoic, but can run suit for movement speed so you dont feel like a turtle.
A very strong option as well (if you're good at gating) is copycat-biker with full hp investment You can play almost more aggressive than the copycat-anarchist suit regen and of course you've got uppers on top
Copycat's 10hp per headshot bypasses berzerker's health gain block. It can still be an interesting idea, as with a specific copycat setup, you can get a 3 shot armor and 2 shot health with frenzy.
It's definitely been an interesting change of pace compared to regular stoic since you don't get the healing effect and you don't have the 4sec no damage cap.
ive been hesitant to try copy anarchist because i usually play anarchist and i wanted to try something else, so i never looked into this. i might have to now....
Overkill with Payday 2 before 2022: if we add stuff, we should probably balance it Overkill with Payday 2 during and after 2022: time to fuck around and find out.
I just started playing Payday 2 because my friend got me into it during the Winter sale and I have been having a blast with Copycat Stoic. Running it with Heavy Ballistic Vest, I can play DSOD, but it's kinda hard to do it. Currently at Infamy 2 since grinding Infamy is a pain lol.
with copycat you can 200% do a Critic + body damage flamethrower build use akimbo Kobus (can be changed btw) and the secondary flamethrower and use the extra dodge of the perk deck
@CaullyD This isn't the argument you think it is. I'm infamy 6 or 7 and it was only about infamy 5 where I got all the perk decks. That's 500 levels into the game. That's a lot of work for one perk deck. Would you rather nerf the payday send-off perk deck or make it an actual objective for the people staying at infamy 1?
best thing i've done all hp cards biker perk deck primary:akimbo gen 21 secondary:gen 21 have fun in lobbies with either leech, anarchists or crew chiefs. you can't die.
Honestly i hope they don't nerf it,afterall this is probably the last thing the game gets in terms of decks and let's be honest it might be the last thing(along with what was already announced) in terms of any additional content since PD3 is around the corner so it would be nice if the devs would send this game off with a bang and let this be OP as an homage to the many many times players have pulled through difficult heists and situations without it, pretty much like a reward for everyone for all the fun times the game and the players had this whole time.
Personally I just use the Burglar card (20% dodge) with the dodge bonuses on Copycat. I've always been old school and used Rogue in loud, but now at the cost of just 5% dodge, you get an even more insane weapon switch speed, free reloads sometimes, health regeneration, your dodge deals damage, and you can get brief immunity at low health. That's completely ridiculous... Also, Rogue got so screwed on its Copycat card; getting targeted less is the one skill from Rogue I wish it didn't have! I think it should be 15% dodge + armor piercing! Things have got to get at least a little nerfed, I wonder what they'll do.
Okay, hear me out... full armor copycat grinder, but you have a Vulcan Minigun and a Flamethrower. Auto-reloads, fast weapon swap, infinite ammo. Oh yes, it works better than expected
you should do an Team Fortress 2 Engineer challenge at some point Title: Can You Beat Payday 2 as The Engineer? you can use the sentries. sorry if this challenge sucks I'm new to payday 2 (Edit ty for the heart) Keep up with the great content man
Still thinking this might be a tease for payday 3? Maybe we'll have perk cards to unlock instead of decks thst we personally assemble into a deck or something
Absolutely loving this build. I have a question about your secondary weapon. I do not have access to the mcshay pack yet so I cannot use The silencer that you have what would you suggest as a replacement?
Does the health refill from headshot kills that the copycat deck has work the same way as Bullseye? That is, using a shotgun and getting the non-crit headshots count for it?
This is cool and all but im not aware of the uzi buffs. I had to grind the hotline miami achievements for it which was boring as hell lol, but im wondering what makes it "overbuffed" this year?
Why does my skill tree require 2 more points than yours to open the top skill? Because of that ı cant fully do your skill tree since ı need to open other skills to unlock the top skills
My favorite use is with using all +20%hp, using crits alongside the parabellum pistol with no pistol skills as the main weapon and the thanatos with graze for both dozers and when sh×t hit the fan and the crowd is massive.
I'm running copycat with crew chief. take full armor cards + ictv. I also got friend who is running actual CC so damage reduction is doubled. pretty tanky i must say
Hey knowley! I am just getting back into Payday2 and had a question, How do you get your mods to always work? My game keeps crashing on startup to the point of it taking upwards of 10 minutes to launch the game a single time. Thanks!
It's probably too late to get back into Payday 2 for me knowing full well that PD3 is coming out this year I just hope they add VR support again but better this time
i made another version that uses that same format of dodge and anarchist but it uses the Lions roar instead of the dual smg and the attachments are in the reply if curious
cqb barrell, medium suppresor, concelmeent add-on, auto-fire, Stealth laser module. and thats it. also for the skill tree then since u dont have to speck into akimbo u can put it wherever but all the perks are the same except that

-Your build must be based around dodge
-Your only throwable can be Throwing Axes (similar to the Flying Guillotine weapon in tf2)
Tune to your liking, this is just the run specific rules
"It's pretty good...might be too good."
-Every perk deck/weapon in Payday 2 on release
I would love a customizer tbh, having the old crew as an option as well
i took the liberty of notarising the weapon setups
akimbo totonka:
medved r4 suppresor
concealment boost
auto fire
stealth laser module
ak rubber grip
uzi:
the bigger the better suppresor
concealment boost
auto fire
tactical foregrip
stealth laser module
riktpunkt magnifier
compact profile sight
folded stock
PSA IMPORTANT: Anarchist (and thus, its copycat edition) have been nerfed, and the abilities DIRE NEED and SECOND WIND do NOT work with it anymore.
are we ignoring the fact that this deck can give you almost double the armor that armorer gives?
one of the most fun things to try out with copycat is a high concealment build involving a minigun. if you play it right, the sluggish reload of the minigun will never be an issue
Tbf your anachist build from 2 ish years ago is my main to, i love being tanky.
And yes i don't play DSOD but do play Deathwish.
It holds up great, but i'd love to see a follow up for it :)
This build is really good, carried me hard in my games 👍👍
just wanted to say it was real cool that overkill featured you on thier channel :0
Man the time for the dodge builds becoming meta again is now
I have a dodge sniper build planned with the northstar sniper.
You can get kingpin through 3rd party key sellers. I got mine that way. I have kingpin, scarface and his weapons aswell.
@@AvarageYakuzaEnjoyer this is free tho
@@AvarageYakuzaEnjoyer Yes, but,
1: A lot of it could be untrustworthy.
2: As Fear said, it's free.
@@AvarageYakuzaEnjoyerHow much would that cost?
this build looks crazy gonna try it when i can. Great video kknowley
I've been using copycat anarchist with all health cards, joker skills, and hostage taker aced for survivability rather than relying on dodge, since I'm not confident enough in fast-paced combat to rely on killing to survive, and I prefer to play more carefully anyway
I wonder what the most powerful VR perk deck will be now.
After looking at it my self I already knew oh yeah the high tier guys will be able to make this borderline broken at least payday2's level of broken ,we all know payday is on the level of goat simulator levels of broken
Part of me feels like this is them teasing stuff to come in payday 3 tbh ethire they developed this for us to have fun for the time being or we gonna see some complex stuff in payday 3 which tbh I love about payday 2 in the first place I mean it's fun going from a turtle not knowing anything to slowly realizing the good perks or just doing your own thing
My current copycat perk deck is going full HP and using the hitman card at the end, it feels like everything hitman should of been but flopped on.
Thanks to copycat I now know that grinder with hostage taker and HP pool of muscle is very fun
I love copycat with stoic cause you get very similar health as with regular ICTV stoic, but can run suit for movement speed so you dont feel like a turtle.
A very strong option as well (if you're good at gating) is copycat-biker with full hp investment
You can play almost more aggressive than the copycat-anarchist suit regen and of course you've got uppers on top
god yes i love this build.
This is the best Build Bro. INSANE DAMAGE, ARMOR, DODGE, SPEED.
I wonder how frenzy and berserk would work with this build, it already looks insane.
It sucks because one card gives 10hp per head shot.
Copycat's 10hp per headshot bypasses berzerker's health gain block. It can still be an interesting idea, as with a specific copycat setup, you can get a 3 shot armor and 2 shot health with frenzy.
@@zenith_fn I guess it would need some hyper specific setup, so the point investment might be too high
now i see this build in every other ds loud game i join
cheers 👍
Copycat stoic can give you more health while also letting you use armor, for a total of like +200 health, and I've been enjoying that
It's definitely been an interesting change of pace compared to regular stoic since you don't get the healing effect and you don't have the 4sec no damage cap.
ive been hesitant to try copy anarchist because i usually play anarchist and i wanted to try something else, so i never looked into this. i might have to now....
Overkill with Payday 2 before 2022: if we add stuff, we should probably balance it
Overkill with Payday 2 during and after 2022: time to fuck around and find out.
I found out aswell that extra dodge on an already survivable bonus with the virtue perk
This is too good, I got stuck in a police car on Brooklyn bank and it was a damn chore tryna die
Regular stoic is far better than copycat stoic
I live the content im just coming back and i remember the days when u only had like 20 vids in the channel ❤
with copycat you can 200% do a Critic + body damage flamethrower build
use akimbo Kobus (can be changed btw) and the secondary flamethrower and use the extra dodge of the perk deck
Balance? Make it so it's unlocked by unlocking the other perk decks.
U cannot get the kingpin injector anymore tho
That's not "balance" that's giving it to veteran players
@CaullyD This isn't the argument you think it is. I'm infamy 6 or 7 and it was only about infamy 5 where I got all the perk decks. That's 500 levels into the game. That's a lot of work for one perk deck. Would you rather nerf the payday send-off perk deck or make it an actual objective for the people staying at infamy 1?
best thing i've done
all hp cards
biker perk deck
primary:akimbo gen 21
secondary:gen 21
have fun in lobbies with either leech, anarchists or crew chiefs.
you can't die.
I still can't believe Payday 3 has a steam page now...
Honestly, having your secondary be auto reloaded is huge. Peacemaker no longer has reload issues!
Not just your secondary, either, can bring a primary with an ass reload like the Piglet too
Im sure you tried but copycat stoic is soo good armor that works like stoic and it regens faster then health
😅 Been taking Joker, Medic, Armour and Akimbo skills, mixed with pure Health gains and the Hitman's skill.
I switch off mentally and go nuts
Okay, hear me out... full armor copycat grinder, but you have a Vulcan Minigun and a Flamethrower. Auto-reloads, fast weapon swap, infinite ammo. Oh yes, it works better than expected
everything sounds great just subtract "full armor" you cant wear anything more than light weight ballistic vest.
@christopher crafte yes, i know. I meant full armor on the perk deck ahah
you should do an Team Fortress 2 Engineer challenge at some point
Title: Can You Beat Payday 2 as The Engineer?
you can use the sentries.
sorry if this challenge sucks I'm new to payday 2
(Edit ty for the heart) Keep up with the great content man
Just finished 9/9 my Anarchist deck. Now grinding for Copycat. Has anyone made a Copycat Anarchist deck yet?
I want this advance kind of mechanic to be put towards skills idk if it is me but I find them lacking perk decks seem fine oh well
So quick question I did this build for fun and notice that even though it’s been copied I do not have as much crit chance as you do
Still thinking this might be a tease for payday 3? Maybe we'll have perk cards to unlock instead of decks thst we personally assemble into a deck or something
Laughs in Full hp grinder
Have you done a video going over the UI mods you use?
Having a bit of trouble with the ammo management on Holdout despite hitting my headshots. What's a good alternative to the Uzi?
Let's be honest it ain't coming even close on how broken vd 12 with leech is
Absolutely loving this build. I have a question about your secondary weapon. I do not have access to the mcshay pack yet so I cannot use The silencer that you have what would you suggest as a replacement?
Love the build! I was wondering what mods you use for the HUD layout?
Thanks mate! Just Vanilla HUD Plus for this one.
Does the health refill from headshot kills that the copycat deck has work the same way as Bullseye? That is, using a shotgun and getting the non-crit headshots count for it?
As if stoic wasn't dumb enough they added I frames and healing fir head shots and armour gating
This is cool and all but im not aware of the uzi buffs. I had to grind the hotline miami achievements for it which was boring as hell lol, but im wondering what makes it "overbuffed" this year?
Can't believe I missed the Christmas event, can't unlock copycat...
You can unlock it by getting a certain amount of bags
Any subsitutes to the Uzi SMG? I dont want to spend money on DLC sadly
Why does my skill tree require 2 more points than yours to open the top skill? Because of that ı cant fully do your skill tree since ı need to open other skills to unlock the top skills
I think it has something to do with infamy
My favorite use is with using all +20%hp, using crits alongside the parabellum pistol with no pistol skills as the main weapon and the thanatos with graze for both dozers and when sh×t hit the fan and the crowd is massive.
I am curious if u (or someone else who would know) what visual mods u we’re using in the video (eg: how many SAWTS are left in the top right corner)
I'm running copycat with crew chief. take full armor cards + ictv. I also got friend who is running actual CC so damage reduction is doubled. pretty tanky i must say
Just got a pc just so u could play updated payday and more vr games
anarchist regens every 2s in suit btw
Hey knowley! I am just getting back into Payday2 and had a question, How do you get your mods to always work? My game keeps crashing on startup to the point of it taking upwards of 10 minutes to launch the game a single time. Thanks!
What hud mod are you running?
i will "copycat" your build and triumph
It's probably too late to get back into Payday 2 for me knowing full well that PD3 is coming out this year
I just hope they add VR support again but better this time
Whats the best alternative for the Uzi? I don't have the folded stock and I don't think im gonna get it anytime soon
the heather may make a decent alternative.
i made another version that uses that same format of dodge and anarchist but it uses the Lions roar instead of the dual smg and the attachments are in the reply if curious
cqb barrell, medium suppresor, concelmeent add-on, auto-fire, Stealth laser module. and thats it. also for the skill tree then since u dont have to speck into akimbo u can put it wherever but all the perks are the same except that
the secondary is mini uzi with these attachments: stubby comp, concealment, auto-fire, pocket laser and then the unfolded stock
Can u still get copy cat by the first option or no or do I have to get 250 looted for it and if I do what map u recommend I should farm for it
How is he able to get inspire I aced combat doctor and painkillers but cant get inspire
Getting infamy lets you use less points to unlock the next tier of skills (u probably know that by now)
