Great performance. Bought this album the other day. Intending just for myself really. I put it on during the school run with no preamble. Green Green Rocky Road comes on and my energetic 6 year old son in the back seat goes unusually quiet. 15 seconds in and he says "This is a really nice song." Then a little later, "It's a great song for a sunny day." He was singing it all down the street! Even asked for it to go on his playlist! The whole family are enjoying the album. It is so bright and wonderfully performed yet manages to bring a peaceful uncomplicated few moments to our hectic daily life.
Thank you so much for supporting what I do by buying my little album. I’m so happy your family are all enjoying it. I have to say this is the nicest comment I’ve ever received on RUclips, I’m still smiling typing this. Your son is right Green Green Rocky Road is indeed a great song for a sunny day 🌞 ❤️
@@MuireannBradley😊 Glad to send some sunshine back the other way! He was chuffed you agree with him about the song. He wants to learn to play guitar anyway and was happy to know you played when you were young. My 10 year old on the other hand is trying to learn all the lyrics, so you have a little junior fan club up and running!
The River Finn meets the Mississippi Delta. Much more than channeling Mississippi John Hurt, Muireann adds her own special lilting brilliance to both the instrumental and vocal aspects of Hurt's recordings. It is simply incredible that someone her age is able to demonstrate such a level of proficiency, maturity and total understanding of musical context. Another absolute gem from this wonderfully talented young lady.
Aye your on it there, interviews say her father was a very good guitar player as well and young Muireann said she just loved the old school type blues that her father played.
Thank you. I am thoroughly enjoying these performances you’re posting & imagining the thrill of those in attendance. Please keep playing as long as you love to entertain us. 👏🏻🙂
I am still amazed at how such beautiful songs, and there were many from that time period, that depicted the not so beautiful custom of dealing harshly with love ones who violated the marriage vows. It really, actually was a part of the culture and the law was in step with it, found it justified. Those beliefs, though, no longer exist in the culture, thank goodness, but we are glad that the beautiful songs have survived, thanks now to this wonderful talent.
Captures the spirit and style of these amazing songs in a fresh new way. Talent! Music I discovered in the late 1960s. There is a link between these songs and the culture of Ireland I believe.
Smmmmookin! I think you're getting better Muireann! Vocals are getting looser (in a good way) and more expressive, while the picking is getting tighter, more 'authoritative'; and on top of all that you appear to be more relaxed AND having a good time with it. Perfect progress all around!
Love your talent, and I appreciate your playing the music (so amazingly) from the Mississippi Delta. Thank you, Muireann, and I wish you continued success in the future.
Muireann just home from your show in Dolans tonight it's a long time since I enjoyed a night as good as you were on stage hope you come back to the venue to entertain us again next time you will fill the Warehouse or an even bigger venue.Next time I hope that you may include some of Rory Gallagher acousic blues like Pistol Slapper Blues or some of his other great acoustic covers Thanks for a wonderful Night
Brilliant version Muirean, I've never heard those words. I know it's an old song but I do the Bob Dylan version. Great picking and singing. I feel so proud of you. I'm originally from outside Dungloe. 🤗🎼
Hobos Meditation is my favorite song of all time. Especially the Merle Haggard version on same train different time (which is my favorite album by the way). I would love to hear you do a version of that one day!
This arrangement of Frankie owes a lot to an amazing guitarist from Philadelphia named Ari Eisinger, I have added quite a bit of complexity to it but this is essentially his arrangement. He really deserves his dues but I don’t think he plays any more,
The violence in these old songs is so funny. I like how at the end of In the Jailhouse Now, Blind Blake suddenly makes it "she's in a graveyard now", like it's nothing.
That's why is such fun a sweet young lady from Irish-speaking Donegal performing it. BTW, She's only a few miles away from the birthplace of Rory Gallagher, Ireland's, one of the world's greatest Bluesmen!

A beautiful young girl, voice like an angel and a stunning guitar playing ability. Emotional experience to watch and listen to.
The finest picking and singing I ever did see.....a fantastic performance Muireann. 🎸🎸
I've been listening to this type of music for 5+ decades and you're right up there with the best. Thanks for sharing your gift.
Can't get enough of her.
Will see you playing in the U.S. someday 👏🙏🏻

Class stuff Muireann.............some class pickin' too............best wishes from Tyrone..........
Simply wonderful!
This young lady is great. She must have learned about this music from her dad. A shout out from Canada.
Aye your on it there, interviews say her father was a very good guitar player as well and young Muireann said she just loved the old school type blues that her father played.
I believe it was her Father. Hi from Ontario.
Yes, it was her father. She has said in multiple interviews that she grew up hearing him play these recordings over and over.
Y'know for 4:31mins i was magically transported back home somehow...
amazing talent, truly amazing!
Peace.

Tears! We wish you well on your long journey.

I’m just in awe of your finger style chops and vocal intonation! You have much joy in your future. Thanks SO much!

A classic performance of a classic blues song. Thank you Muireann.❤❤❤

Your performances are totally captivating! Keep going!
Whats left to say!! brilliant.

Amazing attack on that wonderful Waterloo guitar.
Maith a cailin 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Oh yes, so good!
Love it! 🙂
This is such a treat. I'm not saying "don't write" but if this is what you did it would be invaluable.
Very nice! I learned it as Frankie and Johnny. Same troubles and outcome.
You can hear two guitars. The magic ragtime blues.✌️👏🌹
I love this so much.
Speechless !!!!
Love it.
So cute music. Very amazing. Hello from Russia Saint-Petersburg. Good luck Muireann!

Great job Muireann! Can’t wait to watch you grow. Reminds me of old Jimmy Rodgers…
Hobos Meditation is my favorite song of all time. Especially the Merle Haggard version on same train different time (which is my favorite album by the way). I would love to hear you do a version of that one day!
This is excellent. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant as always ❤❤
Other than RUclipss weaponized ads I can't believe I get to hear her for free!
It appears this song has two names Frankie and Frankie and Albert not sure why? Either way you nailed it big time :-) Peace
Incredible! Hope you have a long and fruitful career. You obviously work very hard at it.
Fantastic as always!!
Beautiful!
you will travel far with that guitar on your back
Smashing Muireann
You keep getting better and better every show. Keep going!!!
❤
Wow wow wow 🎉🎈☘️
Heard this from John Hurt, but hearing/seeing you shred the guitar has given me a new appreciation of the tune!!
And such a natural blues voice
This is sooooooooo good! You are amazing!
I once knew a MAN named Bill Morrissey who played this song. Your tempo and vocals make this song yours.
This arrangement of Frankie owes a lot to an amazing guitarist from Philadelphia named Ari Eisinger, I have added quite a bit of complexity to it but this is essentially his arrangement. He really deserves his dues but I don’t think he plays any more,
@@MuireannBradley Thanks for the name drop! Your modesty adorns you.

I sincerely hope Muireann never experiences any of the terrible things she sings about. 😊
😅😅😅😅😅
The name for your kind of blues is Ragtime Blues
Chris Smither channels Muirean Bradley
