    Hello Everyone! I have a little correction to this video at 09:03. There is NOT edema with SIADH. Please review the updated lecture notes via the link for a further explanation: www.registerednursern.com/how-to-understand-diabetes-insipidus-and-siadh-syndrome-of-inappropriate-antidiuretic-hormone-difference-between-di-siadh/

    Another good way to remember is;
    SIADH (lots of letters...lots of ADH...lots of water)
    DI (very few letters...very "few" ADH...very "few" water)
    ...not grammatically correct but it helped me...good luck!

    just to let you know at first, i have ADHD in reading text books. your videos have condensed hours of torturous reading into 20 minutes and made a boring subject something interesting to listen to and watch. i've been worried about this exam for two weeks now and just passed it with a 90% ( more than i expected to get). I'm an aspiring future ICU nurse and plans to be a Critical care Nurse Practitioner one day. Just remember that for all the lives that I'll save in the future, you're part of all that success which means you've saved their lives too.... the world will always be a better place with people like around. You'll always have my gratitude. thanks always..

      Wow, thank you so much for the very thoughtful and kind comment :) It really meant a lot to me. I'm so happy my video lectures have helped you. It feels so good to hear that these videos are helping you :) I wish you the best in your nursing journey. Don't ever give up on your nursing dreams. We need people like you who are passionate about nursing and have drive to go far in it. Best wishes and thank you again for the comment!

    You're truly a saint. The videos you've provided, as well as the website with the quizzes and rationales are worth their weight in gold. This $10 does nothing to truly represent the value of what you've given me and countless others, but it's about all I can afford to give. Thank you again for everything you do.

    This helped me so very much! My 3yo daughter had a brain tumour diagnosed last year! Her pituitary was destroyed and Hypothalamus was partly damaged! She has pan hypopituitarism but she clearly had DI for her whole life!! She is on desmopressin! But DI is very challenging for a toddler- she has such a thirst at times she drinks from the toilet, hot tub, the dog bowl! At her worst she was drinking and urinating upwards of 17litres per 24hours! The key like you said is stringent input-output management and checking Specific Gravity! Very informative! ❤️

    I love your videos! The helpful hints are awesome. I had an instructor that gave us a tip for remembering DI recently;
    "DDD" DI=Decreased ADH: Dumping Dilute urine: Dehydration, Dilated blood vessels, Daily weights and Document I&O, Deprivation test, avoid Diuresis foods :)

    Hello there! I am a recent grad, and take the NCLEX in about a month! I am so glad that I found your videos! I watch 10 of them a day, and take notes on them. I've tried SO many different study methods, but I've found that I'm an auditory and visual learner. Your overviews and mnemonics are perfect! Wish you would have taught at my university

Please don't stop making these videos, myself and other nursing students go to this your school here on RUclips. The only problem I have is that they donot use brand names for meds in the nclex anymore, that's my only problem. Aside that, thank you thank you. Keep it up please.

    Thank you for sharing this video! I suffer from DI my whole life. I take desmopressin. A doctor almost killed me once in miami urgent care because they prescribed something thats pretty much lethal for patients who take desmopressin acetate. The doctor knew I take that medication and I ended up with a seizure in the hospital. I even had to give the ER doctor a lesson in differences between SIADH and DI because he was CLUELESS, but cocky, which was worse. Long story short: you explained this sooooo well and it is so important for EVERY health care professional to understand the severity of these two conditions!

    Good evening Sarah: I just wanted to extend my appreciation to you for your excellent and extremely informative lecture videos. I discovered your videos about a month ago and have been going through many of them and each and every one has been exceedingly helpful to me. I am actually a second year medical student and find your affable personality and thorough description of the pathophysiology of many commonly tested disorders easy to follow and understand. Your videos are serving as a great tool in solidifying the material as I prepare for my boards. Thank you again for your time and effort in assisting all future medical professionals; it is genuinely appreciated.

    They said I may have insipidus today, and I'd certainly believe it. I've survive some crazy stuff including traumatic brain injury. They sent me to an endocrinologist because I sweat, urinate, and drink so much. You should only need a sip of dis, but I'm so very thirsty. Thanks for your video. I'd first read of insipidus several years ago and said I needed to get checked because I have some problems. But, I couldn't get the nurse at the jail to read the grievances seriously, and then I forgot
