Exactly. People who are knew to the MCU and playing catchup today are actually pretty lucky. After watching Infinity War, they can immediately go watch Endgame. That wasn't an option for people like me and you that saw the film when it came out back in 2018. We had to wait a full year for Endgame to come out to learn what happened next.

We got in the car and set there in silence for about 10 seconds longer than simultaneously screamed.... "what just happened"!!!!!!!!!! Movies are moving stories. Stories are best when they evoke emotion thought and conversation. Few movies had this level of a collective core shaking effect.

It's my favourite cliffhanger I've seen in a movie, the fact that the villain won and the superheroes are just left horrified and heartbroken from their failure made it so different compared to other films.
i think it was realizing alot of them were still there. if that was an attack theyd all be dead, but there were still alot of people left, about half of the army, and if it wasnt directed at the fighters it must have been directed at the universe
Even though the characters are superheroes we still get to see a relatable, human side to them with them being scared of not knowing what is happening to them and dying.
That moment of my childhood hero Spiderman fading out of existence will never heal from the first time viewing. That was truly traumatic. Fucking incredible movie.
The fact that Peter said "I'm Sorry" to Tony when he didn't do anything wrong, but felt like he failed because he couldn't stop Thanos and the fact that he cared more about pleasing his mentor instead of his own well being made it even more tragic and showed how selfless Holland's Peter was.
In maybe the single most sombre and genuinely gripping moments of the entire MCU, you've got Mark Ruffalo's head and upper-torso floating around amidst some of the most godawful CGI of the entire series, it's absolutely hilarious how badly it sticks out lmao

His home was destroyed due to overpopulation, which resulted in the depletion of their natural resources. So he thought, to spare the rest from the suffering the same fate, wipe off 50% so their planets can still thrive.
