    This morning I went to the kitchen and made myself some French Toast for breakfast without having to dig through a sink full of dirty dishes for a pan or having to clear off a spot on the stove so I could cook it. Huge difference on how that made my morning compared to weekend mornings in the past. Breakfast dishes are washed and put away, I'm showered and dressed (except shoes - don't wear those in the house), and kitchen trash has been taken out. I even gave my work bag a proper cleaning for the first time in ages while I was waiting for my breakfast to cook.

    Yes . I,m up a little later on Saturday but we are out the door by 9.30 am on Sunday for my spiritual boost. We can relax much better when our routines are done.
    I,m looking forward to my hyacinths flowering. I love having flowers in the house. We have 2 unusual orchids that are around 15 years old. A lovely present from my daughter who will be 43 in a few days. It was one plant and my husband cleverly split it into two pots some years ago. I don't know the name but they have long leaves , very different from the usual variety I see in the gardening shops. The one is in bloom right now .What a delight . These little things can give us joy..
    Have a wonderful day. Blessings to you and yours love from Margaret still in Wales

    Your advice on how you include your routine on the weekend is so useful. The fact that you might still sleep in but just do the routine a bit later so you don’t fall behind might seem obvious but hearing you describe how...well it makes me MOTIVATED. That way you end up with more time because there’s less to do because you’re always nibbling away at the chores everyday. It’s a great reminder.

  • @sentarose
    @sentarose 5 лет назад +3

    I work outside the home and have discovered that I need to do the zone cleaning on the weekends so I don't plan a "day off". but I am still struggling with establishing a morning and evening routine that I follow consistently. I have a chronic health condition and a lot of times when I'm sick I don't even think about doing the routines. Currently I am off work sick and I'm making an effort to do at least a part of my routine so that I can keep the momentum going. Even if there's things I can't do I at least go through the process of talking about them to myself. currently my back is in spasm and there's no way that I would be able to clean the toilet bowl. So after I wipe the sink and counter which is part of my morning bath S&S, I at least say to myself now is when I would clean the bowl off the toilet. I am doing some tidying every morning and some of the dishes. That is my morning routine. My evening routine is a kitchen S &S (swipe surfaces and sweep the floor), after the dishes are done and an evening tidy. So why do dishes and I sweep the counter. But I'm not able to sweep the floor. so instead I just remind myself now is when I was sweep the floor and I say it out loud. I am just hoping that this will keep me moving forward on my routines. normally I do my zone cleaning on Saturday and I don't know how much of it I'm going to be able to do. But I firmly believe that just maintaining my morning routines and my evening routine to the best I can will make a difference even if I can't get the refrigerator cleaned out. I will clean the stove top very well and the toaster. And I will polish my sink. But this week the floors are not getting mopped. I'm hoping to run the vacuum in the traffic areas and then I'll push it through the kitchen to pick up crumbs too.
    this is the year when I want to find my stride and get these routines down so that I don't even have to think about them. Somehow I have to work around my chronic illness. Typically I'm sick with asthma not with a back problem.

    Friday’’s my oldest DD and her boyfriend come over for dinner from college. He is a vegan and she isn’t vegan but will not eat meat. So Friday’s i am usually cooking a couple different meals . I do a home blessing hour on Fridays in the morning and then i have a yoga class 🙂 and a dentist appointment 😖 i love these routines because I don’t feel rushed anymore to get everything done. Thank you . Saturday is date night , Sunday is family day and planing for the week also i throw in a pamper evening on Sundays, nails, bubble bath and face mask, ect. I do my routines on weekends but it’s a lot more relaxed because i have kept up the home all week. Also, i have my kids and husband do most of the cleaning on weekends 😂.Have a great weekend

      You get a lot done on Fridays. Takes me all my time just to cook. My older DD and her boyfriend are vegan. My brother has a gluten free diet. My younger DD is a life vegetarian but her boyfriend doesn't agree with that. Two meals sounds about right.
      I have found some good gluten free vegan deserts though.

I also love flowers 🌷🌷🌷💖😄

Morning wake up realize what I wanted to wear was dirty or etc. So end up staying in pjs longer while wash.. Bad start to weekend and wasted relax time. Now I almost always continue routines thru weekend. Yes..gives me more time. And def. Helps to have lunch or dinner planned before projects. Way less stress and truly relax on the break. My hand bag accumulates lipsticks and lip glosses! Thank goodness for friday routine. All Routines all done pretty well this week. I still do routines at weekend but more leisurely. I add some project on saturdays that needs to be done. Tomorrow I plan to mend some jewellery sitting in the garden at the outdoor setting, and a walk later with the dog. Because I work a couple of days I usually have to do some ironing. But after midday I'm pretty well free for rest of weekend. Im going to a high school reunion on the weekend. Some of my classmates I have not seen for 45 years. Picked out my dress already. You have great remoddelling ideas Dear Diane. Inspiring. ✔💖🇦🇺🌞

    Because I do my routines, my house is really clean, so if we get up at 4:00 am to go fishing on the weekend, we come home to a pretty clean house, but I still do my routines later in the day or the toilet bowl and the laundry niggle at me all day. It takes maybe 15 minutes to clean both of my bathrooms, throw laundry in to wash, and unload the dishwasher. Then I have peace the rest of the day. The same is true if I lie in on any morning. My routines have drastically reduced my anxiety.

    Dear Diane, have you ever done a question and answer about your Dips in the ocean? I’m from the US and I cannot imagine that their wouldn’t be some weirdos gawking at pretty women skinny dipping in the ocean . Can you address this? Is this not a problem in Denmark?

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  5 лет назад +4

      Hi! Yes, I've talked about it before many times but, no, we don't have problems when skinny dipping here. Generally speaking, the Danes have a very healthy attitude to their bodies/nakedness so no-one stares or cares. We have more important things to do 😃

    • @catherineallen6024
      @catherineallen6024 5 лет назад +3

      Here in Germany there's something similar (called FKK) and it was amazingly freeing to realise that I don't have to care about what "people" might think, because no one is looking at me - they're all too busy living their own lives, as Diane said. I think there must be an underlying respect for others here that is missing in Australia (where I come from) because I cannot imagine it working there - if you tried swimming nude in Australia, you'd have everyone staring at you and probably someone would call the police. Our "nude beaches" are weirdo magnets. It's as if being naked has something to do with sex or power, rather than simply being the natural byproduct of not having clothes on.
      If you have a chance to swim naked in a secluded and safe space, I thoroughly recommend it.
