- David Coulthard slammed Logan Sargeant recently - but he was wrong to do so! Int his video I will explain both sides of the David Coulthard Logan Sargeant beef from the 2024 Spanish GP. The Logan Sargeant vs David Coulthard dispute started when David Coulthard and Channel 4 wer doing a piece about the F1 driver's carpark. I think this is very symbolic of how people treat Logan in general.

@@someonesch4361Albon is the more experienced driver with more loyal backing and better car. Of course Sergeant didn't out-qualify Albon.
@@someonesch4361 he is the junior member of the team. He earned his seat. It doesn't justify him copping abuse from DC or others for something he didn't do.

I can't even criticize Logan Sargeant now that it's been revealed just how bad the car Williams has been giving him. All the A-parts go in Alex Albon's car and he gets the dredges.

Anyone who knows Coulthard's career knows that he is the LAST person who should be poking fun about poor grand prix driving.

@@slartibartfast2649 He was in one of the finest cars McLaren ever produced during two of their strongest seasons and not only did he underperform, he was downright terrible most of the time. Hakkinen had no competition in that team.
To be honest, I don't like it when someone already has a hard time and then people also go ahead and make fun of that person. I get that David Coulthard probably didn't mean any harm with it, but still. Even though Logan Sargeant seems cool about it, that doesn't mean that from the inside, it isn't bothering him. If you try your hardest and it just doesn't work out, that shouldn't be something other people make fun of.

Funny for a guy who was famous for hitting the pit wall during a race and crashed out of a race before the lights went out in 1995
Martin at Monaco in 2000 was criticising drivers who crashed at St Devote - there were six of them during that race
Four years earlier he'd made his own silly careless mistake coming into Casino Square
Nice video Kym. Thanks for sticking up for Logan. He is really treated badly by Williams and he seems like a nice guy although it must be demoralising working in that kind of environment.
Logan strikes me as a real sportsman, unlike the nepo baby.
He's handled his time at Williams with grace and maturity even while they broke his spirit.

@@sandratracy1378 Yeah, Williams haven't been very kind to him, but let's be honest here; Sergeant just isn't quite F1 calibre. I think Williams were generous by giving him a second season at all.
It doesn't say everything, but his junior career wasn't stellar. Yes, he was rushed into the sport, but Piastri shows what a Rookie can do alongside someone similar to Albon.
I think he'd do great in Indycar or Formula E or WEC. Not a bad driver by any measure, but just not quite it.

I’m a Logan fan of sorts, but tech he could also be called a nepo. His father’s a millionaire and his uncle’s a billionaire(the war profiteering type). The nepo stuff is irrelevant. People either just suck or they don’t, no matter who their parents are.

Knowing DC’s past banters with other drivers, I’m sure he’ll take responsibility for his mistakes. That being said, he’s not like Ralf or Villeneuve who unfairly criticizes drivers at the smallest things and rarely apologizes for it

Lost a lot of respect for Coulthard over this. Everyone knows that Logan is on his way out and this is a tough time for him, no need to kick him when he’s down
Coulthard should fact check before he moves his mouth. "A journalist is a person who gathers information in the form of text, audio or pictures, processes it into a newsworthy form and disseminates it to the public." Was Coulthard's piece "newsworthy," nope. It was a personal slam and he ain't a journalist, just a talking head.

Keep it up Kym, love your reports. Really looking forward to the Drivers Motorhome piece, so convenient for them to stay within walking distance of the paddock with ALL home comforts and more - these are NOT larger caravans where many of the public are camping in on the other side. Stay passionate!
David Coulthard came off as a real asshole this time. He was once a driver, a spare driver at that, and should know the pressures on a driver to succeed. Some pathetic people enjoy kicking dirt in your face when you're down.

Very unfair Logan has his issues but this isn’t one of them. Very low blow DC, but with his ego he’d never admit a fault. Ooo and as alum pointed out drivers almost never drive cars in to the track because they’re busy with other obligations.

I read the McLaren hospitality building has been taken to Germany for repair and cleaning, I believe by the same company, Schuler Group, who are providing the temporary structure. Almost like a courtesy car while yours is off the road being fixed.
