Interesting thing - they have four cars, not two - I didn't know that, before seeing two cars in close contention followed by two heavily rigged cars - presumably the latter vehicles were driven by Pitt and Elba themselves, and the first two cars were pro drivers. Movie promotion for AAA production goes like this: 1) Teaser - 90 sec 2) 2nd Teaser - 30-45sec 3) Trailer - up to 240 sec 4) Trailer 2 - mashup of first 3. 5) Movie launch.
Seriously though, this is a great idea and if they want to plug Brad Pitt into the F1 ‘cannon’, then this is really the only way to do it because realistically, they would’ve had to have been rivals or at least knew each other well.

For one this movie is produced by Apple TV so it isn't making any money and it's not an awards-contender type of movie and F1 or even avid racing fans as such will be frustrated by the movie. So it seems like a loose-loose sort of situation. If they had made a biographical type of movie like Rush or Ford vs Ferrari it would do much better.

Controversial, but the Grand Prix story was super painful to watch. The car cinematography is second to none, but this is best to watch like one of those adult romance movies where you fast forward through the talking bits.

Using f2 cars to pretend they are f1 cars for some bits. This is fully inspired by that movie. This is not going to be anywhere near as good as Rush as far as story is concerned, but it will have more authentic racing bits. As good as rush was they had to fake it a lot considering the setting.
I am willing to bet that there will be a second trailer released during the NFL's Superbowl , that event is almost always the highest rated tv program of the year ( well over 100 million people in the USA alone) . There is always a bunch of movies that will premiere trailers during it
