I bought a bar, 2 pair of rubberized metal plates and i made some concrete plates with a center ring, I've been practicing the snatch and the C&J in my bedroom, but i can't drop the bar because it's a 2nd floor. I tried doing no foot snatches last week, with about 90% of my max, and they were the most correct and pleasent to look at when i reviewed the videos, i do believe that no foot snatches are harder but necessary, i was opening too much all the time out of fear of not being flexible enough to catch and drop with the weight. I'm not a strong lifter, but a few months ago, i couldn't even break 90 degrees with a bar on top of my head on a snatch squat, now I'm reaching depth with a narrower stance, the feeling of achievement is great.
I've been snatching like this for months now. And it forced me to correct my bar path. I used to jump forward. There's no pressure to be doing true 1rms, so I'm happy to snatch like this, at moderately heavy %, for reps.
I could not agree more about no foot snatch being a "self-correcting" exercise. I can safely say it taught me how to snatch. I've been looking for a clean exercise that could do the same ever since... No foot cleans are not nearly as common I believe, and I have not felt the same benefits when trying it out. Any ideas of which clean exercise could play a similar role as the no foot snatch?
I’m sure this is a dumb question, but why is it considered a double when he didn’t stand the first rep up? I see weight lifters doing this a lot, I’m assuming they are just saving their energy? Is it considered a rep even if you don’t stand up?
Not in competition of course but once a weightlifter has the weight locked over head, and stable. Squatting up is too much effort for some lifters to conserve energy by just letting it drop and then being right in the start position for the 2nd rep
Yes, it is to save energy and there is no need for him to stand up if he holds the barbell correctly in the bottom position. I think most would consider it two reps (at least in my weightlifting club they would) but since this is not a competition it doesn't really matter.
After fixating the first snatch he doesn’t have to prove to anyone that he can stand it up so for the sake of training he’ll move on to the next one. The tough part is pulling and catching so all energy is used for that.
@@james100kg6 yes but why is it a double then? If you need to cut ROM from the first rep to have enough energy for the second, it seems you’re not capable of two reps
@@JP-js8jr I understand that line of thinking but he’s training for the sole purpose of improving a 1 rep max snatch that’s the goal of every single action in training. The standing up part doesn’t need to be trained as that’s a 100% success rate after fixating. So if it takes away from his ability to execute the next rep then it is counterproductive

In what world is an AI the MOST individual form of programming, surely an actual coach would individualize the programming. Two people could for instance input the same data into the ai and therefore get the same program while a coach might notice other things that your inputs do not account for.
It makes sense to me. Most of us go into a gym and the coach has the same program for everybody, everyday. There are no program level adjustments for how you're performing. If a couple a few people at the gym or on their way to competition and everybody else is at a different place then you're on the competition schedule regardless. People adjust on the fly either not finishing the program at all, overdoing it if they're kind of insane, etc. Coaches that are spread thin (as small business owners in the English speaking world usually are) cannot customize for every person all the time. Hence the AI program. If I was a top level lifter in a country with lots of public funding for every imaginable sport, sure it would be a different story. In such cases for the lucky few, having a highly seasoned coach TEAM with their eyes on you all the time would be better than AI.

On the day he hit the 225 I think he would have missed 230. When he missed 221 in 2018 it looked similar to the 225 in terms of pull. The 225 also looked, to me at least, very much like a max. It was the hardest he's had to fight for a snatch on a platform I reckon (maybe along with his first 220 in 2017)
Ive never seen lasha have to sit back down. Its always a immediate recovery, perfect positioning. 230 was not there that day but i certainly think 230 is semi-possible soon

The real question is where does Lasha stop 505, 510, 515?
He's got fairly long legs and a close, toes forward stance. He must have crazy thoracic and shoulder mobility to snatch like that
He has short femurs that helps

He’s just really big and stupid strong.
