Popped up by YT as a suggestion, and enjoyed watching it. A by-gone era. Looks to have been filmed at least in the latter half of the 30's. The DNO registration on the car (when they were playing with the ball and bat) was released in Mar 1936.

I recognise the route through Rainow (B5470) but not the layby where the car pulls in or where the children are playing, any ideas where this is?

Mr. Pedley's car is a Morris, the light-coloured car following it is almost certainly a Vauxhall.
    Both are1930s models.

Glad you've enjoyed the film and identified the cars - we're not sure if it is Fred's car or one of his friend's and he is in the passenger seat filming the journey.

Mr. Pedley, please would I be able to write about this video in Macclesfield Nub News? Thank you!

Mr. Pedley, may I ask you, do you have any connection with Beaumaris, North Wales?

As it was filmed at least 90 yrs ago I would assume that Fred may not be around to answer your question.

@@jwm5165 , Thank you. But your 'revelation" had not gone unnoticed by me. You see I once knew a Mr. Fred Pedley whose home was in the Manchester area and it was not an impossibility that it could be a son of the man from the 30's. You see I was referring to a man of same name in 1969. Elementary my dear Watson.

Hi, it’s actually the granddaughter of Fred Pedley - yes, this is the same Fred Pedley who lived near Manchester and visited Beaumaris often. Did you know him?

@@fredpedley8737, Yes. a long time ago. When his bungalow had just been built. I am a long way from there now and much water under the bridge since. He had ,then, a little Staffordshire (bull) Terrier who had lost one eye. If you know the gentleman or if you are a relative I would love to speak again. It is a memory of decent, good people that I am afraid seem to be missing from our world today. Thank you for responding to my inquiry and if what I have written makes any sense, please let me know.

@@ccahill2322the dog was called “Mickey” (I assume after the mouse) he lost the eye in a disagreement with a cat. I remember him well when I was a small child at my grandparents house in Middleton and also he travelled to Beaumaris on holiday with us. The house was bought in 1966 as family legend has it after a weekend in the caravan he had at Red Wharf bay with the first grandchild (me) which was apparently not good for disturbance free slumbers.

No not exactly, it was very hard to pin any of them down but there are images of road signs with road numbers, which is where I worked out which direction they were travelling in. I think they go through Macclesfield pretty quick.
