That's what makes this one the best monkey news... because every other time ricky guesses who the simian character is before the reveal, but karl got one over him thus time:)
Early Karl was not a work, which is incredible. Ricky spent too much time with him and was completely baffled by this wonderful Manc. It's his curiosity that was the key. After he got a bit older he became more self aware, and would call this a load of old rubbish. He was a shooting star
I love Ricky but I feel Steve's pain a lot of the time, you know the story is gonna be outlandish and hilarious but you need to let Karl just talk, cutting him off with logic ruins the humour in it.
stcrude I love Ricky's reactions 90% of the time but Ricky knows what Karl is like and that's why he had him on the radio, you have to let him speak to get what we want to hear, react to the punchline not the opening line. My favourite moment is when they are talking about the infinite monkeys writing the works of Shakespeare, given an infinite amount of time and Ricky threatens to knock Karl out because of his stupidity, he reacted at the perfect times, sometimes I think he's very premature is all.
I also disagree. I find that Ricky's early interjections and dissection of illogical and impossible aspects of the stories often prompt Karl to add more detail or to blend in possible explanations, almost always increasing the absurdity.
"Normal day, everything's going normal..."
😅😅😅
Karl's pretty quick and sharp sometimes. "Lemme cue it up." 0:10
Mate he's a comedic genius.
SOMETIMES!? He's sharp as a tack.
It's a story that 'appened.

He's got it off the internet.
I love how in Karl's mind the people's reaction to a bank robber is "Awwww god, wish I didn't come in here, it's not gonna be a good day" 😂
That fella who emailed about Donald McIntyre could not have hoped for a better outcome lol, Karl completely believed it for ages 😂
I’m convinced that the original robber was going to be a monkey until Rick questioned it and then Karl changed it on the fly.
Great point. And I've listened to this 100s of time
Nope
Nah. At the start of the story he says "there's a bit before the Monkey". Before Ricky questioned it.
When he said the monkey started backing up with the gun and the monkey I fucking lost it
"There's been a lot going on....."
im absolutely crying
"It doesn't say if he went off to Spain" fucking killed me!
"Is it from Reuters?"
"Listen it's from Steve!"
"Shut up Rick"
If I ever feel down I watch this
Technically Karl didn’t break the rules. That fella was not simian. So Ricky can’t end Monkey News.

Stephen is right. Ricky should let Karl finish it.
Rick's constant sniping and mockery makes it all the more funny for me.

i totally disagree. i think ricky being genuinely offended about how stupid the stories are adds to the tension and comedic timing
stcrude I love Ricky's reactions 90% of the time but Ricky knows what Karl is like and that's why he had him on the radio, you have to let him speak to get what we want to hear, react to the punchline not the opening line. I disagree I think Ricky getting so pissed off with how stupid it is makes it funnier. And Steve trying to calm him down adds to the humour as well
Nope, without the exasperated/angry interjections it wouldn’t be anywhere near as funny.
