To be fair, the idea of a wyvern with six appendages is innately weird to the people of the Monster Hunter world. It's just that we in the real world are so used to the depiction of dragons having two wings and four legs that the wyverns of Monster Hunter seem weirder, even if they make more biological sense. But Fatalis reminds us of the weirdness of having six limbs by when it uses its wings to brace itself during its big grounded cone of fire attack.
Soloing Fatalis was probably one of my most favorite little accomplishments, streamed over the course of two play sessions. It wasn't even my main weapon to lay this monster to rest, but my kinsect to land the finishing blow.
I solod him first day after a handful of tries, I tried like 4 times with a group and finally got fed up and just went in solo and got him first try lol. Made me feel so godly
@@danielfuentes2999 I had started base World on PS4, but eventually went to PC during the height of the pandemic. Was able to finish that fight before Rise came out, so it felt very much like the game was completed. Such an awesome experience!
Fatalis's music is just incredible, but the additional cutscene themes just make this SO much better, almost God-like even. This is truly a 10/10, would listen again and again, and is also so fitting for the Legendary Black Dragon.
Not to mention that orchestra ending... It's like even when the piece the ending, you still don't feel safe and the dread can still come right towards you. Just like how Fatalis is still "alive" despite being "dead".

In my opinion, this has brought a little more justice for our Legend. I'd like to see how much farther they could go with Fatalis, seeing what he can do now.

If he is not in the main game, he will always be in the expansion or G rank version. With or without his Grandpa and Angsty Brother. Btw, I really want White and Crimson back again and given the Remaster treatment too. They would be so cool.
When the theme hit and he said “Time to fight history” that was the most badass and scary thing I ever experienced. Because it does feel like fighting a legend, something you aren’t supposed to even come close to. Yet there you are, about to face probably the last hunt of your Hunter career.
I love that in the second stage once the tempo picks up, you can literally HEAR the choir battling with the brass. Like the hunter and Fatalis pushing against each other
okay, I've done a bit of thinking here. Steel's melting point is around 1370 degrees C or 2500°F, and it takes 20 minutes for 5kg/11.02lbs of steel to enter a molten state at that temperature. So if Fatalis can melt steel nearly instantly, imagine how much heat was needed to melt that giant steel barrier in less than 15 seconds. Pretty scary how it really makes you think just how powerful Fatalis truly is huh?
Oh yeah, we are WAY overdue for a Bazelgeuse medley my friend. Or, if you already did one, at least an updated one with the Rise version, because that rendition slaps HARD.
i just imagine fatalis, in the moment castle schrade went down sitting right in the middle of everything just burning everything to ashes with people crying and others praying while being carbonified to the sight of a dragon just as ancient as time, and regardless of its lack of sight it still holds enough of itself to make em the human predator they were meant to be
I love the contrast between his first phase and second phase theme. The first phase is almost hopeless sounding, but in the 2nd phase there's these inspiring and heroic sounding portions to the song that pump up and cheer on the player. It's perfectly fitting too because at that point you've survived it's ultimate attack, the very one that destroyed Castle Schrade, you've proved that it's still a monster and that with enough skill and bravery you can kill it. God I fucking love what Iceborne did to Fatalis.

I love how 9:00 I don't know how to describe it... you've beaten every single monster and this is the most difficult challenge and your giving it everything you've got and in the end you come out victorious against the legendary black dragon fatalis

I never fought fatalis before so to say this was one HELL of a first impression doesn't do this fight justice. This fight easily burned into my soul as the hardest boss fight I've ever done in any video game, but by far my most favorite as well. Goddamn what a hell of a send off to a legendary game.
The piano part of second phrase gets me! It is telling me it is the final. The true end of Monster Hunter: World(include Iceborne). And I feel a bit sad for it.

Gotta say, I love the makeover Fatalis got for Iceborne. The black dragon has always struggled to keep up with the lore, since in previous games the Fatalis fights (apart from the event crimson fatalis in 4U, that one was great) usually only were challenging in that there was a lot of artificial difficulty, with the monster having a ton of health, dealing insane damage (even just chip damage from the tail could take down a chunk of health) and questionable hitboxes. The Iceborne version makes it a lot more believable that this fucker took out an entire kingdom on his own in a single night.
I'm surprised you didn't put the part that plays when the Handler is telling you that help has arrived. There's a whole segment there that blends seamlessly with the rest of Limitless Courage.

Yeah, it was from the live concert they held last fall. The same concert had a killer rendition of Safi'jiiva's theme as well, however I don't believe any of the tracks have been available online due to Capcom's overly strict copyright monitoring, which is a shame.

In the lore it says that his flames will expand forever and wipe out every living being off the face of the planet if he never stops doing that super move. Of course both him and Safi had to be toned down from their true potential for gameplay purposes but in the lore there is a big difference between every other monster and Fatalis.
If a thing have destroyed almost half of civilization of human thousands years ago. Then no way it is less destruction than emperor. (It probably still messing around until MHWI. The game has noticed some strange things happen near the castle.) Remember this thing is the only thing which is highly hostile and aggressive to civilization and other living beings. Safi is probably same tier elder dragon/black dragon level. But more destruction? nah!
@@hisholiness4537 Behemoth is stronger than anything in the monster hunter universe so that doesn't mean anything even though his damage is down because he is included the base game. Safi also has an instant death attack too if you go down that route. In the Lore of pokemon, Tyranitar can't be harmed by any sort of attack. Obviously that is wrong. Lore is just that, lore, not real, mythology. "a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth." Of course villagers and hunters would hype it up over time to this near legendary status that everyone in the MH community seems to have fallen for. Don't read into it as fact. Castle Shrade is so inconsistant with its downfall, Crimson Fatalis, Normal fatalis? That white Fatalis? Which one did it?? There are so many of the damn things (That get felled every time), its like its a species, not a *God* like everyone tries to make it out to be. Im so sick of it, and I welcome the fact that a proper dragon has evolved and come to knock it off its pedestal. Safi *Easily* outmuscles Fatalis, See, Flying through solid stone in his intro, pushing his front limbs through stone, and most importantly, has much greater leverage for force multiplication because he is BIGGER. He has much better mastery of his breath attacks than Fatalis. He Is more durable than Fatalis. He heals faster than Fatalis. In the **Siege** of Safijiiva, you have 16 hunters, or 4 parties of hunters trying to whittle him down one after the other, so he drains his nest and can be slain. Compared to one party required to slay Fatalis. The NEW world has moved on from the old, and evolved, Fatalis is still dangerous, but the Emperor has come and made him a relic of the past.
I don't care about any of that, because part of your reasoning involves gameplay mechanics, and as such is inconsistent (Even in then Fatalis does way more damage than Safi). Fatalis was also sort of a siege before Iceborne. We won't know until we see an actual showdown.
This took me at least 20 times, 11 was trying to do it with randos but they just die to the easiest to dodge attacks and 9 was trying to plan and find a right strat to do constant damage in his final phase solo. It felt so good to slay fatalis solo, less than 5 minutes left and about to fail the quest because he spammed his 360 flame attack 8 times in a row, like wth. My cat actually landed the final blow while I superman dived his 360 flame xD

Of course both him and Safi had to be toned down from their true potential for gameplay purposes but in the lore there is a big difference between every other monster and Fatalis.
If a thing have destroyed almost half of civilization of human thousands years ago. Then no way it is less destruction than emperor.

@@hisholiness4537 Behemoth is stronger than anything in the monster hunter universe so that doesn't mean anything even though his damage is down because he is included the base game. Safi also has an instant death attack too if you go down that route.
In the Lore of pokemon, Tyranitar can't be harmed by any sort of attack. Obviously that is wrong. Lore is just that, lore, not real, mythology. "a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth." Of course villagers and hunters would hype it up over time to this near legendary status that everyone in the MH community seems to have fallen for. Don't read into it as fact.
Castle Shrade is so inconsistant with its downfall, Crimson Fatalis, Normal fatalis? That white Fatalis? Which one did it?? There are so many of the damn things (That get felled every time), its like its a species, not a *God* like everyone tries to make it out to be. Im so sick of it, and I welcome the fact that a proper dragon has evolved and come to knock it off its pedestal. Safi *Easily* outmuscles Fatalis, See, Flying through solid stone in his intro, pushing his front limbs through stone, and most importantly, has much greater leverage for force multiplication because he is BIGGER.
He has much better mastery of his breath attacks than Fatalis.
He Is more durable than Fatalis.
He heals faster than Fatalis.
In the **Siege** of Safijiiva, you have 16 hunters, or 4 parties of hunters trying to whittle him down one after the other, so he drains his nest and can be slain.
Compared to one party required to slay Fatalis.
The NEW world has moved on from the old, and evolved, Fatalis is still dangerous, but the Emperor has come and made him a relic of the past.
I don't care about any of that, because part of your reasoning involves gameplay mechanics, and as such is inconsistent (Even in then Fatalis does way more damage than Safi). Fatalis was also sort of a siege before Iceborne.
We won't know until we see an actual showdown.

This took me at least 20 times, 11 was trying to do it with randos but they just die to the easiest to dodge attacks and 9 was trying to plan and find a right strat to do constant damage in his final phase solo. It felt so good to slay fatalis solo, less than 5 minutes left and about to fail the quest because he spammed his 360 flame attack 8 times in a row, like wth. My cat actually landed the final blow while I superman dived his 360 flame xD
