What I think is really nice about this is that this creates a special journey for each individual player. Everyone hunts differently, and everyone has their weak points, so there is bound to be that “hardest monster” for everyone and that fight that “clicks” for others. Everyone has their own unique “final boss” for themselves, and these themes help just guide that feeling along to let the PLAYER feel that “final boss” in full force, in whatever way they want to experience it.

"It has also been seen inhabiting the Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste, Rotten Vale, Coral Highlands, and, particularly, the Elder's Recess." "Velkhana has massive wings, estimated to be about twenty meters long, to aid it in its flying. It's believed that another reason why Velkhana mainly lives in cold mountainous environments is that it rides the wind currents found there to aid in its flight." "Despite the appearance of its scales, Velkhana doesn't have any feathers to keep itself warm in tundras. Similar to waterfowl, Velkhana circulates blood through countercurrent heat exchange, via its wings, to maintain its body temperature." "While most Elder Dragons use their claws for combat, Velkhana rarely ever does. Similar to Barioth, Velkhana's claws primarily are used hooking into the snow and ice in its environment. With the help of these claws, Velkhana can't slip easily." "While Kushala Daora molts its shell in colder regions, Velkhana goes to volcanic regions to do so. If one of Velkhana's beams come in contact with the mist, it'll create ice." "Depending on where the mist is, Velkhana can form ice walls, making it harder for other creatures to maneuver through an area, and even cause large blocks of ice to fall out of the sky onto enemies." "Besides using its icy breath, Velkhana also mainly uses its spear-like tail as a weapon that it savagely stabs its enemies with. If its tail is sliced off in combat, it'll create a new one out of ice to continue its onslaught." "When engaged in combat, Velkhana is known to immediately cover its body in ice by secreting and freezing its supercooled water on its body before taking on a threat. All of themes completely exceeded my expectations for them, and the AT Velkhana theme is stellar. Could you extend Defense of Seliana next? It would be greatly appreciated!
I really want Velkhana to be apart of the “trio of Elder Dragons that are in every game”. Uno like Teostra, Kushala and Kirin, Chameleos if you count him. Most monster hunter games have lacked an outright ice elemental elder dragon, aswell as a good endgame Elder Dragon tier ice threat (Kush doesnt count as it uses the snow/cold air with its wind to inflict iceblight in older games)
And yet Vaal, Nami and Velk are much better fight. Don't get me wrong the require you to think and are difficult. But fun as hell. Being burned by standing near Teo? Not fun. Air pressure Helicopter Simulator ver. Deora? Not fun. Full of energy pony from "Freindship is bullshit"? Yeah, not fun... With Velkhana being the best of them all. Change my opinion on that.
Teo, Kush and Kirin are the classic trio, Vaal, Nami, And Velk are a really good and fresh addition to the World of MH, i really wish to see them in future games
@@TheDevilDucker Vaal's weird effuvial effects may make it incompatible for other regions. I would prefer Velk over Kushala though, weapons look better and no wind gimmick

A perfect theme for the perfect monster, Velkhana is definitely the best elder dragon ever, and her theme is the best of all (I'm sorry valstrax but that's the truth), All Hail Velkhana, The Ice Queen And The Splendiferous Silver Sovereign
What I like about some of these flagship elder dragons, is that build up to the fight itself. And once you get there, it feels personal. Like you absolutely HAVE to take this thing down. This is how I felt with nergi and velkhana in this game. Now I'm building a personal rivalry with alatreon and fatalis.

I've read the comments on the AT theme and stopped the video before it came up... I want to listen to it for the first time during the hunt, so... I'm keeping it on ice ;-P
Velkhana, the monster which for me his theme sounds comicamly evil like "mwahaHA! now i vill freeze all the new land!!".. but also sounds epic while fighting. and want to see it as a ridable mnsty in the new MH stories
Never have i seen a challenge so completely trivialized by a certain weapon, the at version became a cake walk with insect glaive, although i did have 33 ice res.

Average Length: 2596.05cm
Average Height: 760.17cm
Foot Measurements: 98cm
Order: Elder Dragon
Suborder: Ice Dragon
Family: Velkhana
Habitats: Hoarfrost Reach, All Locales in the New World, Guiding Lands"
"Thought to be a mere myth, Velkhana is a legendary Elder Dragon that was discovered during the Legiana Migration to the Hinterlands. It wasn't officially known until one was discovered while the commission was investigating this mysterious phenomenon."
"One of the reasons why Velkhana wasn't discovered until recently was from the habitats that it generally inhabits. Velkhana prefers to live in cold mountainous regions, or other secluded locales, which can be hard to navigate for most creatures, including humans."
"It has also been seen inhabiting the Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste, Rotten Vale, Coral Highlands, and, particularly, the Elder's Recess."
"Velkhana has massive wings, estimated to be about twenty meters long, to aid it in its flying. It's believed that another reason why Velkhana mainly lives in cold mountainous environments is that it rides the wind currents found there to aid in its flight."
"Despite the appearance of its scales, Velkhana doesn't have any feathers to keep itself warm in tundras. Similar to waterfowl, Velkhana circulates blood through countercurrent heat exchange, via its wings, to maintain its body temperature."
"While most Elder Dragons use their claws for combat, Velkhana rarely ever does. Similar to Barioth, Velkhana's claws primarily are used hooking into the snow and ice in its environment. With the help of these claws, Velkhana can't slip easily."
"While Kushala Daora molts its shell in colder regions, Velkhana goes to volcanic regions to do so. One might think those blue parts on its body are scales, but in reality, that's a special kind of ore that Velkhana adheres to its body."
"Velkhana's power comes from this ore that it adheres to its body, and it attaches this ore to itself to control the supercooled water inside of its body. The more bluish the Velkhana, the stronger the individual is."
"Velkhana can manipulate the cold. It produces "supercooled water" inside of its body and breathes it out of its mouth. This water is below zero yet isn't frozen, but freezes rapidly the moment it comes in contact with an object, making it an effective weapon for Velkhana."
"As Velkhana fights, it'll secrete some of the water out of its skin and it'll become a white mist that floats around the area. If one of Velkhana's beams come in contact with the mist, it'll create ice."
"Depending on where the mist is, Velkhana can form ice walls, making it harder for other creatures to maneuver through an area, and even cause large blocks of ice to fall out of the sky onto enemies."
"Besides using its icy breath, Velkhana also mainly uses its spear-like tail as a weapon that it savagely stabs its enemies with. If its tail is sliced off in combat, it'll create a new one out of ice to continue its onslaught."
"When engaged in combat, Velkhana is known to immediately cover its body in ice by secreting and freezing its supercooled water on its body before taking on a threat.
Blue = The ore on body
Green = Supercooled water/ice that makes its armor"
"The ore that Velkhana uses is similar to volcanic glass, and Velkhana will usually nest within areas where this rare ore can be found like the Hoarfrost Reach. Recently, very little of it can be found in its native habitat, causing it to venture to the Elder's Recess."
"Velkhana can make this ore by rapidly cooling magma. Whenever it molts, it'll replace the old ore to revitalize itself."
"As a warning to any creatures that enter its territory, Velkhana is known to freeze any smaller monsters it encounters and leave their frozen corpses for other species to see."

"Name: Oroshi Kirin (キリン亜種)
Average Length: 549.8cm
Average Height: 357.3cm
Foot Measurements: 26cm
Order: Elder Dragon
Suborder: Phantom Beast
Family: Kirin
Habitats: Everwood, Tower"
"Oroshi Kirin is a subspecies of Kirin that was recently discovered by the Val Habar district of the Hunter's Guild. Oroshi Kirin shares many of the same adaptations as Kirin, though there are a few differences between the two."
"While a hunter was patrolling the Everwood, they felt a sudden freezing sensation in the air and came across a Kirin with black fur that was covered in cold air. The monster had a presence of mystery about that couldn't be explained."
"Since Oroshi Kirin is a recent discovery and there aren't many sightings of this elder dragon, the Guild hasn't tried to properly investigate the monster yet due to there not being much to go on. Compared to Kirin, Oroshi Kirin is considered to be more phantom-like in nature."
"While Kirin controls lightning with its horn, Oroshi Kirin is capable of controlling cold air with its horn. With its horn, Oroshi Kirin can lower the surrounding air temperature and create pillars of ice out of the moisture in the air."
"It can also create icy fogs that'll encase other creatures in snow and ice. In one legend, it's said that this old divine elder dragon used its frozen horn to freeze whole kingdoms in a single night."
"Not much else is known about Oroshi Kirin."

finally some hunters who pays as much attention to ecology as I do
Lol I thought I was the only weirdo who is more into lore, ecology than fighting. True we are hunters but we are explorers and scientists first.
2:44 Fimbilwinter is upon us
9:09 Fimbilwinter is over. Now comes Ragnarok!
The trumpets at 4:32 always make me smile, it just gets me pumped with the rest of the theme.
Velkhana will always be my favorite and this music just makes her even more sweeter 💕
What a masterpiece. This game will never be topped.
All of themes completely exceeded my expectations for them, and the AT Velkhana theme is stellar. Could you extend Defense of Seliana next? It would be greatly appreciated!
I understand the transition to the AT theme i think
It would of been hard for a really good transition since the AT theme is widely different
That mount theme tho holy balls!
Her namielle and vaal hazak seem to be the elder trio of world
And yet Vaal, Nami and Velk are much better fight.
@@sirith9157 yeah I’m glad they mainly threw gimmicks out the window in iceborne
It’s good to have you back, Velkhana.
Nice transition .
I play this whenever I'm cleaning our house from flood, keeps me well occupied from what I'm doing because of this. Great transitions!
That transition into the true fight at 2:41 is so smooth
man i keep getting fed with good themes. first the fatalis themes (and proof of a hero,,godly) and now AT velkhana. a whole 5 star course.
Welcome back spiky boi
The trasition to each song is almost unnoticeable well done 👍
Oooh that is beautiful!
I like when in 14:48 the mount theme gets quiet for the piano part and right after it starts playing again
When paired with my graceful gal who uses a glaive, the main battle theme fits the graceful but fatal dance of death between the unshakable spirit of the hunter, and the spirit of winter itself.
3:07 "Kono Giorno Velkhana Yume Ga Aru"
*Iverukhana
Sorry man, even if i absolutly love your vids, i can't listen to this one before the actual fight..
Damn... that at theme is... yes...
AT medley begins 9:09
I recently tried to hunt a velkana...
There was a savage deviljo who refused to leave us alone, resulting in our failure
Savage Deviljho is annoyingly persistent
Looks like Velkhana is returning in rise!
Yo WTF I had no idea that the AT Chase and Mount themes also leaked!
the whole fight
*velkhana stab and breath sounds intensifies*
First. And it my favorite elder dragon theme
Listen to all 4 phases of Shantiyen.
When you drink water after taking mints :O
IT'S BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
Kinda wish we got AT Shara ishvalda as well
The transition into each fight is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When i saw her new final attack i immediately fall in love with her final pose. ❤ Elegant, royal and frosty as it should be. ❤
PS: 10:46 This piece is beautiful.
Such elegance and grace
Damn that AT theme is something fucking else jesus. I thought i loved Nergs AT theme but god damn. This AT Velk one is being modded in as soon as possible
Am planning a dnd campaign set in Wildemount and am going to use this as the Bright Queens boss music.
There's a homebrew Velkhana boss sheet somewhere and I was testing it out as a hypothetical encounter for my players. Definitely gonna use this medley for the background
And now velkhana is in sunbreak sweet
A perfect theme for the perfect monster, Velkhana is definitely the best elder dragon ever, and her theme is the best of all (I'm sorry valstrax but that's the truth), All Hail Velkhana, The Ice Queen And The Splendiferous Silver Sovereign
as much as I love valstrax theme I gotta agree velkhana theme has that feel-good vibe to it while being daunting at the same time
What I like about some of these flagship elder dragons, is that build up to the fight itself.
And once you get there, it feels personal.
Like you absolutely HAVE to take this thing down.
This is how I felt with nergi and velkhana in this game.
Now I'm building a personal rivalry with alatreon and fatalis.
Great video as always mate! Was wondering if for your next you can make a medley of the Hoarfrost reach’s themes? Small-large-mount?
The transitions to Velkhana’s main theme are just godly
2:32 and 6:53 are just the best.
Best Elder Dragon Theme for THE BEST Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter World
the consistent piano gives it's theme a botw vibe to me
AT velk and AT nerg both are the flagship from respective dlc/game, it serves as the final hurdle for every hunter that have slayed fatalis
The ice queen has returned in sunbreak.
Man that at mount theme gives me chills
Just gonna bookmark the buildup at 2:30 dont mind me...
The pawn has been promoted to a queen. At the very end of it all.
15:21 OMG MY EARS ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
14:20 bipedal Velkhana isn't real it can't hurt you
*bipedal Velkhana* ;
her at theme is good dont get me wrong, but it sounds very 'halloweeny' if that makes sense, i think its some of the instruments used that makes me think that way
You're not wrong about it sounding chilling.
do you mind making a hoarfrost theme medley? like from small to large to chase and mount?
With Velkhana in Sunbreak now i do hope they somehow, somewhere return ATV's theme. Its just too good.
That AT theme improves on the original in every way holy shit. Kinda like with AT Nerg, I wish it were her default theme.
Objective: Move a unit to the target destination while fending off the Azure Witch using tank shells.
Behold the true master of ice. ❄
Velkhana is not the best flagship of the series, but it is indeed the most elegant.
Capcom never fails on design.
AT Velkhana is an AVALANCHE
Sorry Uklanos, you are an "Icebreaker"
I've read the comments on the AT theme and stopped the video before it came up... I want to listen to it for the first time during the hunt, so...
I'm keeping it on ice ;-P
Bless you good man
Hey! that's me!
I wish the regular mount theme was included in this medley
I'm not sure if you may be able to see this, but can you make a medley for Namielle? I think that would work really well!
A song truly fitting for the noble ice queen
Damn I now know why my mom wanted me to learn piano...damn.
Now he's back in a MH that didn't just decimate gunner options for A single addition!
I love how velkhana theme feels like we’re fighting an empress in a gladiator arena feeling the tyrant breath and litterally catchy for me 😅
Cool theme.
Who is ready to fight one last Iceborne Wyvern?
It's not a wyvern
@@samstocker6450 its title is the iceborne wyvern despite it being an elder dragon.
@@solio4327 that's a bit strange
@@samstocker6450 just checked they have two titles The iceborne wyvern or ice dragon.
Either way, isn't just about every monster called a wyvern or classed by wyvern anyways?
Velkhana, the monster which for me his theme sounds comicamly evil like "mwahaHA! now i vill freeze all the new land!!".. but also sounds epic while fighting. and want to see it as a ridable mnsty in the new MH stories
Pure combination of grace and power
Never have i seen a challenge so completely trivialized by a certain weapon, the at version became a cake walk with insect glaive, although i did have 33 ice res.
2:42 this is my favorite part of the theme
velkana has my 4th favourite theme
