    I would love to try one and I will besides all the talk tomo boards go insane fastest boards in junk or standing in tubes he’s doing something right let him draw his inspiration from where ever he feels for his boards might look different but they bring sooo much joy to so many of all levels thanks tomo

    I am not an engineer but for those that say Tomos theories are b.s. jump on one of his boards and see how much speed they generate and how fast you will go, especially if your not a pro. The problem for most average surfers is generating speed but Tomo's boards just make it so much easier! Been a big fan since I got a Vader 5 years ago and have had lots of different models since then. Cant wait to try this baby out. Thank you Tomo for making my surfing better.

    A great surfer in some great waves I’m sure he could make 90% of boards look the same in those conditions where the wave and ability do most of the work. This is the problem, no disrespect but it’d be nice to see how the thing goes in much steeper/sucky waves or even fat mushy waves so we can see what stands out about the board.

      We did everything we could in December to film Tomo Surfing in as many waves in California as possible. Unfortunately the waves never got that bad. 😉

      My buddy is 75 and he can hardly pump for speed I saw him get an insanely long wave today for small weak closed out beach break about 1-2ft he made about a 50 yard section which on about any of his other boards even bigger ones he’d never had made the planing Hull helps for not having to work for your speed it just generates it. That’s to me the big thing that stands out.

    there’s the possibility of me getting a Tomo TieFighter...It’s the right size and a liter or two extra for me (reg 29L, this one is 31L) to get moving on the mushy yet down the line running waves that are the usual east coast local sand bar post dredge debacle that I have to surf...thing is I have a local shaper that I’d like to take his ideas a step further and go asym on it maybe w even more nub fins in odd places...
    I really should do it huh, both the TieFighter n the custom Asym huh...ohh man I enjoy getting weird w surf shapes haha

    This looks like a great board with thoughtful design, but why is it called a fish design? It has almost nothing in common with a fish.

    Never rode a faster more electric surfboard in 35 years of surfing than the Tomo Vader. I’m hoping this board has the same magic and from all reports it does.

      We just received this text this morning from a former VADER fan in San Diego, CA: " Are you kidding me??? I took the El Tomo Fish out this weekend, obviously our surf is pretty crummy right now but that boards [SIC] glides, has lift and is so reactive. It feels insane and I can't wait to get it non some bigger punchier surf!! "

    Anyone else think that Tomo surfs this board way better when the waves are smaller? Huge fan of his concepts, loved my Evo and its speed and planning the next inspired shape.

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  4 года назад +1

      The El Tomo is primarily dialed for waves head high and under. You can see he makes it work in the bigger stuff, but it's on fire in the smaller stuff.

    how small and how big of a wave can you push it in.

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  4 года назад +2

      It's best in waves knee high to around head high, but you can push it in waves up to 8 feet if you don't mind controlling the speed this board creates in powerful waves..
