So rad! Filming and editing Eric's Speed Freaks part was an amazing experience. Crazy how much we produced in just two days of filming. So many stories, Venice was wild back then. I filmed Tom Knox's part in one full day but definitely not in two hours LOL. Great content, thank you.
Yo, Eric! If you see this! I remember meeting you at the DIY spot under the bridge in Alvik, Stockholm last summer. I skated by myself and you rolled up with a crew, and I just wanted to shout out how cool it all was. It seemed like you really went out of your way to make me feel apart and talked to me and said whats up. What Im saying is just that this guy is super humble and cool. Dude didnt have to talk to me, but he did cuz hes hella tight. Blessings from Sweden
"Skate for miles, just to skate a little thing" Yup. That's it.80% of the day was just meeting your friends and skating miles to the spot. Love it!! That's where the good time happen.
YES! A awesome chat with the HUMBLE LEGEND! My first board was an Eric Dressen mini with Indys and OJ wheels in 1989...what a perfect board for me at 12 yrs old. Still skating today...30 yrs this coming spring! You were a huge inspiration for style and speed!
Just to let the NC heads know, Heathen Army decks are coming soon. A Greensboro NC brand, ran by locals for the NC skaters. We are gonna keep it core and have no interest in crossing state lines. Everywhere else already has a scene and we feel it's time to start staying in kakkalak and building upon our own scene. We feel it's time to put NC back on the map just like the 90's East Coast invasion that gave Mark Johnson and Mike Sinclair the exposure needed to put the focus on what was going on over on our side of the country. Trying to be ready to launch before winter if all goes well , will keep you guys informed and wish us luck. Thanks from the Greensboro NC Heathen Crew, may your slams be few and your tricks stuck with steeze.
Mitchell Loy If you keep in touch I will shoot you a deck outta the first shipment we get in. If you like what we're about then support our cause and the more you rep us the more we'll hook you up. I live in Julian at the moment so I'm right down the street from you. Ride thru one day and we can hit up one of the parks or a street spot or three. Seriously bro, we plan on growing this scene and creating something to be proud of. Heathen Crew coming thru stay true to you.
Eric is so cool. I used to hang out at Will Rise tattoo shop over on fairfax with him and he was so humble and nice. You would never know you were in the presence of a legendary skateboarder unless you were a skater yourself. I regret not having him tattoo me at that time.
I had a messed up knee for 2 months and nothing helped. I went to Dr. Bowser, the chiropractor he was speaking about and its back to normal now. Miracle worker!
My favorite skater hands down. Eric made it through the rough times and came out stronger. 100 percent skateboarder and a great person. Keep strong Brother.
When a skater is talking about not the early 2000's, not the 90's, not even the 80's but the 70's... Man you know he's the real deal and a true pioneer. And you gotta respect that!
Like many things in life you never forget your first. Santa Cruz Troops of Tomorrow was my first favorite video.Eric Dressen was my first favorite skateboarder. I’ve rode for thirty years, get worse every day, but love it just as much as when I started. When Eric D told CRob he was proud of him, pretty rad stuff. This episode brought an onslaught of great memories. Thanks Nine Club.
That was a RAD interview. I just saw him at Skatercon in Phoenix. Got a pic with him. I have been a fan of his since back in the day. I'm old skool. Great job Nine Club, you nailed it once again.
Thanks Nine Club I've been hoping you would get Eric on. He is simply Legendary. My first board back in the day growing up in London was a Dressen Dogtown Mini a lot of steep hill bombs and power slides Speed freaks style. THANKS
30 years ago I went to a contest. I saw a lot of good skating there. One thing stuck out in my mind. At the end his run after the time Eric pushes Mach 10 to this parking block and slappy 50-50ed it all the way across. I'm not talking a nicely waxed block. It was loud. I couldn't believe what I just saw. This explained all of the Detroi Lions hats I wore. Although I couldn't name one player on the team...
He’s the most humble, nice and grateful dudes so sick. I somehow always had front salads very easy so I thank him for everything! Nine Club is the best thank you!
I saw Dressen in '89 just destroy the small bowl at the Turf skatepark in Milwaukee. Absolutely destroyed it. It was the first time I ever witnessed a street skater-with so much steezy style-skate transition so well. Always one of my favorite styles and such a chill, cool and humble dude. Great episode!
This episode was so good. I have always been an Eric Dressen fan. Such a humble and mellow dude. Great work on this one guys! Roger, I too was so stoked on the first Savannah Slamma contest video. My friends and I would watch that and get so pumped to skate. Eric's run with the crail grab wallride. I learned those from watching his run over and over. So rad.
Sorry for being so late to the fold, but Dressen is truly a legend. I'm 48 and just got back to the board after 30 years off last year and I ride a Dressen rose crew 2 deck and LOVE IT!! KEEP F'N SHREDDIN'!!!!
Living legend! OG ATV! So rad he’s still ripping and so humble. I remember a photo of him in my first Transworld, he was ollieing off a sidewalk bump with his back foot kicked out to the side and the Dogtown graphics clearly visible. Keep shredding Eric!🤙
I know a Cory Kennedy episode isn’t realistic, but as a part of Crailtap and the amount of people that you’ve had on here also involved in Crailtap, the CK topic avoiding is understandable but would be interesting to hear you touch on. At least as much as plausible I suppose.
Gotta love Dressen, such a humble rad ass dude. Another great ep from the club, as always keep up the good work. You keep making em and I'll keep watching em!! Thanks for all you guys do & I know you prolly hear it all the time but what you guys do for skating is so f#ckin rad & I know you guys but you heart and souls into the show & it definitely shows! So just wanna say thanks again and all love to the whole crew at the club!
I remember skating with you at the Houston skatepark the night before they shut up and skate contest around 88. You're on the 4ft spine ramp and just absolutely tearing it up very quiet kind of kept to yourself but it was really fun watching you skate
I just spit my beer out when Crob said Kelly would like the new reverse combi.Too funny. Love this shit. Always considered the Upland combi the 80s vert/bowl proving ground. Sooo much vert.
"Links we talked about: Switch flip switch manny.... hahahaha Thank you for all the links in the description, the gear you use, and mainly things cited on the show - we obviously wanna see it after hearing a story we didn't know. Chris, please do a full wecked part, scraping tail and nose everywhere. That clip became a new category of steez for me, hilarious.

I just met him in Japan. He rolled up and approached me and started the conversation. Super nice, chill dude.
One of the most modest and humble legends in skateboarding. Stoked on this episode. Thank you, The Nine Club! Get AVE next!

Dressen was huge influence on me in late 80’s glad to see this episode
I had a messed up knee for 2 months and nothing helped. I went to Dr. Bowser, the chiropractor he was speaking about and its back to normal now. Miracle worker!

Dressen is such a class act.
Raj comment @18:20 yes the internet is bringing skating back to it's roots as much as people would like to argue otherwise
My very first board, 12 years old, 1986ish, Indy trucks and Slimeballs with clear grip. Thanks for the memories dude!
Nine club is the best podcast

No jumper & Joe Rogan are great but The 9 Club is definitely the best.

Serious credit for this episode here. Dressen is so legendary, this dude is like an OG ambassador for skateboarding.

I met Eric a couple weeks ago. He was totally cool and down to earth. He even followed me on social media.
This episode was so good. I have always been an Eric Dressen fan. Such a humble and mellow dude. Great work on this one guys! Roger, I too was so stoked on the first Savannah Slamma contest video.
