Keep up the great work
You should try the benq x3000i next.
Just questions can hook laptop and gaming consoles to this unit? Does this unit overheat?
Would this work well with an apple tv?
the name alone would have made me want to take a look at it
i got this projecter from Kickstarter at a great price, however my biggest gripe with it is that Autofocus doesn't provide the Sharpest image possible and the autokestoning doesn't provide the optimal (biggest) frame possible. I always have to go into manual mode to adjust both. Specially autofocus. Drives me nuts.
Hey Lon great video as usual! Would love if you could make some suggestions on 1080p projectors that have a similar brightness that are comparable albeit with less features as you alluded to at the end of the video. The price is a bit much for me. Otherwise looks awesome and has some seriously impressive features. Can't wait for those to trickle down to cheaper units. 👍
Image quality will be harder to search on of course but I would look at searching by lumen level. i.e. try 3,000 lumens, 3,500, 4,000 etc and see what you get. I did a buying guide not too long ago (that you'll find in the playlist) that'll give a good overview of the available technologies. I'd recommend sticking to the known players: Epson, Optoma, Viewsonic, BenQ, etc. They tend to be more honest on brightness levels.
@@LonSeidman thanks Lon I appreciate the direction!
Hey the 1080p version is $1,099.00 on sale at Amazon
Hi Lon. You showed a screen size of approximately 75inch. What's the image, picture quality and brightness at a larger screen size, ie 120 - 150 inches?
Hey Lon, do you have any experience with Optoma brand projectors? If I remember correctly, there was one they made years ago that specifically dealt with the input lag issue but I think it was 720p. Either way, good video as always.
I don't have direct experience with them but have heard they are decent from friends and reviewers alike.
Excellent review ..very honest
What about the dirt on the lens issue? What is the maximum angle of keystone correction it will do before distortion is obvious?
I'm not sure what this dude is talking about BUT the 4k version and the Mars 3 (1080p) are very different with the exception of size and weight. LED vs Laser, battery operated vs not, ansi lumens totally different, contrast, not to mention ruggedness etc. Basically the Mars 3 version will just make you want to buy the brighter native 4k Cosmos once you plug it in and realize it's not bright enough and pixels are noticeable.
LG has a short throw 4K laser projector that sells for about the cost of their 1080p model! How much for a new laser light source? The Laser Pico projectors were paper weights once their laser diode wore out.
Does it have HDMI ARC ?
It supports HDMI ARC on the one HDMI port but not eARC. It also supports 3D shutter glasses. Both facts seem to be missing from most of the sites talking about it.
@@AdrianSchwartzmann thanks 👍
I DISAGREE WITH YOU THIS PROJECTOR WORKS GREAT IN A HOME THEATER SETUP-I HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO MY SONY 7.1 AUDIO RECEIVER AND THE 4K AND 1080P LOOKS AWESOME, VERY SHARP AND BRIGHT. IF YOU WANT TO USE OUTDOOR THIS PROJECTOR WORKS FOR THAT AS WELL. SO YES YOU CAN USE IN DEDICATED HOME THEATER SETUP.
I don’t think it’s as practical for home theater but it should look fine as your experience indicates.
How do you hook it to your audio receiver? HDMI?
@@taylorskillin9535 HOOK UP VIA HDMI FROM PROJECTOR TO YOUR RECIVER
@@douglasbushman Can you hook it up via bluetooth?
@@ptrkavls2297 YES YOU CAN USE BLUETOOTH BUT I CHOOSE NOT TO DO THIS
2400iso lumens isn't awful. But it'll certainly hurt those of us who go way above the 120" norm. But for those specific 80-140" normal people screen sizes, I'd bet this looks fantastic! Especially being layyyyyyzerrr dude!
I take my cheaper viewsonic 3200iso lumen outside alot, and project on a 250" screen. You could get away with 2800-3000, but 2400 it'll be dim. Then again, the Ankers specs say 150" max. Might not even get correct focus that big.
That same viewsonic p700hd has a 17ms input lag on game mode, 40ms outside. Typing this comment using my pc connected up. Flawless.
So this is absolutely AWFUL! It'll cause lip sync issues with video/movies if its that bad.
I didn’t notice any lip sync issues
Not everyone is prone to noticing. Same goes with Bluetooth audio lag. Its too much for me
If you noticed input lag that bad, there's going to be lipsync issues too. Just its not as noticeable to most people
Quality is good but amazons packaging was terrible.
Why are so many projectors from no name brands?
The components are cheap and commoditized.
so expensive
Stop doing projectors reviews, without a projector screen !!! Stop using just a white wall !!!
Most consumers will likely be projecting against a less than ideal surface so I think using a wall is quite a valid way of testing.
