OK so I have got the UFO one, you can have any colors on you want, in the app you can open a colour pallet and have complete control over RGB values, and then you can change "brightness" in the app to raise or decrease the white LED. Also re switching on and off with smart speakers, just put the whole thing on a smart plug and it returns to it's last state. After 3 hours it automatically shuts down, so you can set a program up to turn the plug on and off again every 3 hours, or like me, you can just set up a different program to turn the smart plug off, then on, then turn the light on, all in one command you can name whatever you want.
Awesome! Thanks for the insights, good to know that some of them come with an app now to enable further functionality than the built in buttons/remote!

I love galaxy projectors! From this video, I have the Blisslights SkyLite Evolve and the Rossetta Projector, and both are great! But as much as I love the Evolve, I still wish Blisslights wasn't discontinuing their SKyLite 2.0. Another great video!
From what Ive been seeing in yours, and others' videos, the stars always seem to be green. DO any of these devices offer a white star field, and a star field that is more random, as the real night sky is?
*UPDATED* I second all the "thank yous" for a great review! Do any of these have realistic looking stars that are not green? I don't understand why, with all the great features, all of them stick to "netting" looking stars and why green? Can you make them white? UPDATE: ooops! I guess what I am looking for is a planetarium... and I just found your other review 😂
Happy you found the other review! There's a reason all the lasers are green in these star projectors, it's a bit of a long winded answer that I've given many times, but the short version is price, safety, power needs, and heat dissipation.
*Very well done.* This gave me enough information to hold off on purchasing one. I already see new models just out for 2025 and in the grand scheme of things, I can buy a full blown media projector for 50 bucks that I can use with a spare Android and run video loops of various galaxy video. *I likely won't go that direction but I can see the better units are worth the extra cost.*
i like rosetta one, maybe not as galaxy projector, but turn off the star laser and turn it into northern light projector, would love it if they're more short throw, i wanna mount it high up the wall so it's not in the middle of my room
I dont know why you dont like the speakers, i know theyre Stereo audio, but its nice to have a music box on it, for example, during christmas. Thats how im uaing it for, and the audio is very good in terms of volume. Anyway, the projector is way more pragmatic than using xmas lights that you ought to fix on the walls and high placea. I recomend as a cool and simple way of decoration, specially for lazy guys or people with some physical restriction.
I have the Smart Star Projector and the Rosetta and the astronaut, and the astronaut on mine has a sort of moom effect, nebula looks similar to the video. The stars have a orbit on mine. And my smart projector has this Galaxy lamps label on it. So I think it came from the galaxy lamps company. The Rosetta looks like the northern lights. The shape looks like an elephant. It also has a music mode, and you can connect it to Bluetooth. The astronaut has music mode on mine, but it has more music options on it, you can connect it to Bluetooth too.
I’m looking for a laser projector where the stars can rotate - but is also simple where a 5 year old can use the controls. Do the smart ones require a smart phone to configure?
Probably smart star / blisslight evolve or the ufo if you are planning to put it in the center of your room do NOT buy the astronaut (they have bad quality control from my experience, i had a bad model -> i swapped to a new one -> new one had a different problem)
Thanks for this great review! Question: Do any of these projectors project a moon? On Amazon, a few ads show a moon in addition to stars and aurora/nebula.
I just picked up the blisslight evolve after watching but my coverage is a lot smaller then it was in your video. Not sure if I got a bad one or if there are ways of making the nebula spread better? Love your videos man!
From my understanding white lasers don't exist!?!? I've read comments that some get pretty close to white but they are really expensive....there are some out there too that doesn't have the nebula cloud moving, instead it projects real imagines thru a lens disk, which seems white stars but it can only rotate a static image and can't do the pretty nebula cloud thing!
I dunno if this'll get seen, but I wonder if Bliss Light, and Smart stars overlap well? I really like how the end of the Galaxy Projector 2.0 looked overlapped. So a Blisslight Green and a Smart Star Blue seems like a cool idea, and the thing being, I could get those two, for a LITTLE cheaper then one Galaxy Projector 2.0. I hear the Galaxy Projector 2.0 is still pretty fantastic, but considering the effect mixing you could get with a Blue and Green Blisslight and Smart Star combo, I think I'm leaning with that. Edit: Also makes me wonder, if they do mix well, if there's a better one to get in green VS blue, defaulting to Smart Star Green and Blisslight Blue. Also kinda wish they were both that low profile disk shape. I guess that's another question worth asking. Is if I would be better of with a Smart Star and Bliss light, a Blue AND green Smart Star, or a Galaxy Projector 2.0?
The way projection technology works for surface area coverage is all dependant on the distance from the surface, the further away the larger the area. While I can't give specifics, I will say they are designed to have a large coverage, the UFO style once specifically has the largest coverage!
Are there any such units that are better at randomising the star layout? All of these (and other units that are similar) all seem to have extremely linear, or very repetitive, star patterns that kind of ruin the effect for me. I assume this is a limitation of how the units are built (the array of lasers somewhat determines the layout of stars, and having enough to make them appear random probably isn't reasonable), but I'm hoping to be wrong!
huh. This is all new to me but; these seem fairly limited? How come this stuff isnt digital. I am guessing that would require vastly more power than these
And none of them actualy projects a galaxy or universe in other words , its better to buy a epson 4k projector and go on youtube for a 4k universe video and project that
As I mention in the end of the video, if your looking for realism it's a different category of projector (not using lasers) I've made a video comparing those here: ruclips.net/video/yaM-0TOzxf4/видео.html

You can get a blue Stars version of blisslight evolve but no white lasers sadly
You can use the disc based projectors. Try looking into the Sega homestar or the Pococo
Disk based if you want realism, laser based for everything else.

How do these look if you have a ceiling with down lights? Do the frames of the down lights cause issues with the projected image?
My pet peeve with these lights are the noise they make. I wish your review would have covered that.
