@@Techsploder I would highly recommend the OEM aramid fiber case. It has a great feel in the hand, and wears in quite well. My second choice is the OEM green matte rubber case that you can buy off of eBay for like $9. I rock that one with my OnePlus SmartWatch 2 with the green band if I'm feeling like leaning into that color, which I like. Us old school Gen Xers rarely drop our electronics - we death grip them as if our life depended on it 😂

I have been using a OnePlus 12 since it came out. Great deal for the memory and storage. Much better battery life than the pixel 6 this phone replaced. Quick charging with the included charger and cable was eye opening. Don't like the round screen edges and soft screen saver, but the value over the Samsung 24 was to good to pass up. Jason, get a case. We know your history of dropping phones. 😂

      @@Techsploder Nice. I'm very excited.
Very much looking forward to it. Ordered it earlier in the week (gets delivered on this coming Tuesday) so had to come down the rabbit hole of checking out the reviews to see if it was worth getting it. Coz I skipped the 9 10 11 coz they never seemed to me worth the switch past the 8T but the 12 finally made me pull the plug. Albeit very late but I saw it at a good price and figured time to finally cave into an upgrade.
Thanks for the balanced review and real world use case example. That's one thing that stood out to me is you were also able to give a very practical review. Which is something some creators tend to forget and just focus on the bells and whistles and specs but they don't show us what it's like to actually use the phone for a set amount of time and what to expect etc

It's fast, UI is smooth as silk, absolutely no bloatware, works like a beast with all the multitasking I do on it, great display with good visibility outdoors, excellent RAM management, superb battery backup that lasts all day and has never let me down. Strongbox engine 3.0 keeps my confidential data secure and gives me peace of mind. Camera is decent too, works for my purpose. Frankly, switching to the OnePlus 12 for your trip wasn't taking a big chance. It's a higher tier device than the pixel 8 Pro. It has a far better processor and the hasselblad color science is far more accurate. By the way, you can purchase a round tempered glass camera lens protector for the back of the device. I purchased my 12 in silky black and paired it with a black tempered glass camera lens protector and the OEM aramid fiber bumper case. Both give my 12 a futuristic race car look. You should check it out.

@@H4554Nx so I told the OP12 and the S24u in my Italy trip. Review of the latter coming very soon so I'll share the pics then but I had incredible output, in standard mode but also in RAW mode.

Bro did oneplus paid you??? As people always complain about Night photoshops n video sucks man! Os is also nearly copying apple now… oppoish performance of oneplus makes it oneminus. 4500 nits is just a gimmick, check for clear meaning. Chinese makers always play with emotion

I mean, the proof is in the video. I took a crap tonne of pics (day, night, in between) during the Italy trip, got them home on the large monitor, and the results didn't disappoint. So I don't know what to tell you if that doesn't convince you. Didnt really shoot much video but I didn't talk about that in the review anyway. As for the OS, it will always be subjective. Personally, the OS layer doesn't offend me, I know some people hate it but again, subjective. If it looks like iOS, like... Who cares anyway? I personally don't think it does, but even if I did, they all copy each other in so many ways, it's all very iterative and incestuous in the mobile industry these days, what ya gonna do. And to answer your question, no OnePlus did not pay me for anything. They sent me a review device, and I gave my honest experience. Thanks for watching!

I bought it and didn't use it. The camera housing of those Chinese flagship phones are just unacceptable, very top-heavy 1:35

Huh, the weight of the camera housing has never been a sticking point with me.
