🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ Buddy is our hero 🦸♂️
Does it have a specific release date?
I JUST got mine, and holy hell. Duuuuuuuude. Unreal unreal unreal.
EDIT: It does more than the “SRV” thing btw, I not sure why they didn’t just make an amp tbh lol 😂
I'm glad you love it man!! Did your neighbors hear it yet? If not let them hear it from the comfort of their home. #CrankThatShit
I was bummed because I'm a huge fan of Samuel Raymond Vanderbuilt
I think they should add another S to make the frequent model updates less confusing … SSSS = Steel String Super Supreme … or SSSS = Steel String Scandalously Supreme, the next one then could be called S5 ;)
As always, great video!
"Vertex Galaxy S10+" 😂😂😂
SUPER SPECIAL STEEL STRING SUPREME
@buddy blues: Stupendously Super Special Steel String Supreme.
Surreal stupendously super special steel string supreme
Buddy you murdered this pedal to its core. 🎸🎸🎸🎸👌👌👌
Thank you for all the videos buddy they mean the world to me and have gotten me through the lockdown. 🤟🤟🤟
Thanks so much for watching! You guys are the reason I still make videos
I just got one and mine sounds nothing like yours even through a tube amp
The compression is the trick... 👍🙏
Sick strat bro,
I love the binding
Watching you dig in to get that SRV tone, especially on Mary had a Little Lamb, is a big part in your hands with the SSS pedal getting you the rest of the way. It’s a great tool to make it easier to get the amp where it needs to be.
Thanks Ed!
@@BuddyBlues Not sure if VTX will change sound of my DRRI. Probably I'll wait for a Buddy Blues Pedal.
Im really diggin the Texan Twang from pedal pawn. Its literally srv in a box. On the hi setting, all of them really, roll the volume off just a bit. And its absolute heaven. I play through a bugera v22 combo. And this pedal sounds incredible. Im lovin it.
Yea man just got my texas twang and the fuzz, the fuzz some reason cancels out all my wah quack but the texas twang doesnt. I was thinking this pedal might be good as an always on pedal and twanger for the sauce when needed :)
The creator of this pedal can say all he wants … but it’s guys like you that show a side that just not bias … and you show honesty what it does … great demo ❤
Thank you much my friend!
sounds exactly like a String Steel with a Tube Screamer 🤔
Doesn't do anything for me. The more overdriven sounds were the worst. Maybe it sounded better in the room.
I dunno- so far it sounds like what I get from ANY of my Fender amps and a cheap Tube Screamer TS9 set properly - level up- gain down and tone to taste based on the amp.
I never know whether you’re demoing a good or bad pedal Buddy?? You make them all sound so bloody great!
Seasons greetings to you and your family from sunny Yorkshire…’The home of the Morris Dancers’…check them out if you wanna know what real ‘home grown’ musical talent is!😩
just orderd one, people dont realixe this is one HUUGE multi-sculptin tone machine with other pedals...!!!
Like the SRV strat: you can play JAZZ with that, and any Pedal/Amp that has JAZZ in/on it, Im sold! oh there is a Fender Jazz Amp! how cool is that! just bought a Cornerstone Gladio clone and the jazz sounds like a vintage rough humbucker! well i have the gain on a bit, so: VINTAGE HUMBUCKER JAZZ TONE witha Yamaha Pacifica 112V neck PUP strat!!!!
What about this in front of a hot rodded Plexi ...with no to VERY little gain is clean ISH ....lol...great sounding Soldano designed Jet City 20 watt all tube head...so with this and maybe a hotter OD and a ambient delay ....so tell me your thoughts !!! Bassist of over 30 yrs and have ALWAYS wanted to play SLIDE and hard driven blues guitar!!!!! So I have that head and a 2x12 Cab with Celestion V-30s 8ohm mono OR 16ohm STEREO ...I do own a Line 6 HX Stomp I used some with some bass tones ....but WOW you have to be a computer programmer to make it function ....and its not a GOOD LIVE pedal......SO I now have a new ZOOM B6 for my bass needs ....but I have been watching SEVERAL guys do reviews on these MORE AFFORDABLE pedals and I'm thinking ....an individual pedal board with SOME of them being some of these more inexpensive pedals that are SHOCKINGLY GOOD ..PLEASE HELP A POOR OLE bass player turned BLUES MAN!!!! ☺hahahahaha
I think I will just get a Ceriatone JM100 or Amp Nation Wonderland OD for that D sound.
Thanks for the review of this. I ordered one after watching and it sounds superb! Not sure I should watch any of your other videos though or I could end up a very poor man. Seriously though, I love the less talk more playing approach you take and great playing it is too. Got to steal some of those chops.
Thanks so much for watching! Enjoy your new pedal and remember that ALLLL my licks are stolen. So please feel free to steal them
Hi for playing pink floyd hendrix srv, is better the amp prs hdrx 20 or fender 68 vibrochamp custom reverb 5w or the studio marshall sv20h..please?
Running through a Peavy classic 50 effects loop, if the output or level is raised to the 9-10 clock position the amp hum is crazy any ideas, running in normal mode
Sounds pretty killer with a TS in front. Wonder how it'd sound with a Bluesbreaker or Klone in front.
Thanks Buddy, waiting for it to arrive in Australia. Amazing playing as always, keep up the great reviews!
Hi Buddy,
I keep coming back to watch this over and over well done.
I just wanted to get your thoughts on pairing this with the Ultraphonix Mk2 as I'm about to purchase both on your reviews.
Any chance you can put something online with a Strat?
Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! The Ultraphonix into the SSS is fat tone heaven. a really really BIG sound. Soaring leads tons of sustain. I'll work on getting a short clip uploaded
Awesome playing as always buddy. That pedals is just juicy. Can you do a demo of the MXR Raw Dawg? I'm excited to hear you wing that pedal.
Thank you!! I'll see if I can get my hands on one
Nice fat tone, another great pedal. I predict my SSS may soon have a little friend. Great playing Buddy.
So Buddy, are you at liberty to say what pedal is your favorite for that Jimi / Stevie strat goodness.I don't have the means to compare them as you have tried most or all of them.
I'm not at liberty to tell you that you should check out my Sabbadius Triple Trouble video. But then again this is an amp in a not type pedal. I don't have a favorite, I really don't. All the jimi/srv pedals I've tried all do the jimi srv thing in a different way if that makes sense... you could plug a treble booster into a cranked fender and you'd be in srv territory. It really depends.. the triple trouble does both jimi and srv very well and is very versatile. This one does the srv mayer thing so effortlessly
Thanks Buddy.
Thanks Buddy. I am looking forward to mine showing up now. It was my Christmas present to me (wanted to make sure I got something I liked this year).
How do/did you like it what kind of
tones could you nail with it? And have you
tried the SRV SSS, any difference?
Im trying to decide between a gladio and this sss srv for this Christmas but have no clue on what to geet!!! Help pleasee😖
Well if it's any help at all both are based on completely different amps. And the gladio has way more gain. Gladio and ultraphonix would be a fair-er comparison. I have a video on that
Your playing is great but dont think the pedal is doing it for me.Nice try but no cigar
I always reach for my credit card after one of your demos.
Just send me your credit card I’ll buy things for you from now on 🤣🤣 kidding thank you so much for watching
Can you tell me what is the difference between this pedal and the SSS Double Amp Slight Return edition?
They are exactly the same pedal. They just changed the name.
@@BuddyBlues Thanks! I was hoping for that answer. Did you try Mayer tone with it? BTW great playing as usual...
@@oldtimer99 thank you sir! Oh yes I did. It nails it
@@BuddyBlues Thanks!
Awesome video and the playing as always extraordinary to the gills. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope Blues Santa bri ngs you some cool gear . Stay Frosty.
Thx for the AWSOME demonstration!! Quite Real World!! Now I just have to figure out how to get one🤔
I think Sweetwater may still have them! Thank you
Just wanted to say Thank You for sharing your Great Talents and making the coolest pedal reviews 😎
Between this and the regular SSS, which one you would buy? I am searching a SRV Mayer mixed sound - more close to heavy Mayer (not Gravity but Everyday I have the blues). I have a TSMini as well to combine with. Thanks a lot, and cheers
I'd go for the regular SSS. Listen to my demo of it on this channel I think that's the sound you're looking for!
Lucky. Still waiting for mine. Ugh.
How do/did you like it what kind of
tones could you nail with it? And have you
tried the SRV SSS, any difference?
@@bikersoncall it was pretty good. I used it as an always on pedal for my clean tones.
@@Souldoubtrocks Thanks.
Samuel Raymond Vanderbilt LOL I almost backed out of this video😅
🤣🤣🤣❤️
Not Hearing it in this vid.
I get the “SRV” tone by cranking a super reverb. However, this is both more cost effective than a super reverb and it will piss off far less people. I’ve tried the regular version of this pedal and adored it
yeah, this sounded to fuzzy on the bottom end. need tube power to clean that up and speakers that can handle it.
@@coppulor6500 A high headroom 6l6 tube amp turned up super loud and maybe an 808 style drive hitting it to handle some of the low end would take care of that bottom end quickly. However, that might also not be super practical due to volume, but man would it sound great.
Love the look of a bound Fender neck :)
I use this as an underdrive for my Budda 18 for some Lenny style cleans due to lack of headroom in my amp. I then re-amp with a Powerstation 100 for massive SRV style tones with just the supreme EQ side. When I step on the SSS side I get the best OD sound I've ever heard.
For that SRV tone I use the Kingtone Soloist. Beautiful tuber screameresque pedal with amazing extra feature. Fat dial to thicken the tone and a glass, stock and edge switch for crazy differences in tone
Sounds like a Grand Piano
Your playing is from another world, I love it. I just started some months ago after hesitating and preparing myself into it about 48 yrs😮. Do you have recorded material with the band you play or something where I could hear some more of your playing? And have you ever used Kemper and made some profiles?Keep up with the channel, you’re the coolest🎶😎🎸
Thanks so much!! Yes we are on Spotify and Apple Music and every where as the Buddy Blues Band and you’ll find a few videos on RUclips as well of the band! No kemper experience
@@BuddyBlues thanks, I’ll check it out - have you got any signature gear? Pedals? I would buy your overdrive/fuzz if you have one?
Hey Buddy Blues, I love your videos 🔥
Can you also recommend the SSS SRV for the „Mayer-thing“ ?
Because here in Germany the silver SSS seems to be really hard to get even used or new, while the SSS SRV seems to be still available anywhere.
But for me the Mayer Gravity sound is important, so what would you recommend?
Great video ! I hesitate which one should i buy for only very dumble clean tones ? (the less of dirt and the max of open and clarity sound)
The classic sss or the sss srv ?
What would you say with your expérience of both
The regular SSS!
I just got the steel string Supreme and it's what you're looking for if you want clean tones to clean on the verge of overdrive
Jesus Christ there’s so many good licks here 🤣 mandatory education just watching a pedal demo
The bat switches on the Steel String Supreme were already three-way with center off. Clearly, you're having fun with the new version, though.
You know what I will say though, that may be productive. So, I had to warm into my SSSupreme, at first I didn't like it and even messaged you about it, but later got to love it. I actually started appreciating it more when in the ballpark of your thumbnail for that video, you have the settings of the pedal in your main picture. Soon I found playing in that ballpark was phenomenal. Where that is even mildly unique is that I can tell what a good Dumble clone is by how it takes way way more diming in the details to get the magic to work... bad pedals are like THIS IS THE MAGIC BUTTON!!! DO YOU WANT IT ON OR NOT? OKAY IF ITS ON TURN ME UP OR DOWN 1-10? Where I find anything with good build characteristics make you really have to dial it in. That is even moreso with a SSS. Finding that sweet spot is only in a certain range. That range seems to change by area code.
[What is that watch? Something i would be familiar with, but with a different strap? Or something else altogether?]
Hey-have you tried the Keeley Red Dirt Germanium? Seems like that would fit your tastes.
I like the new entro and outro song, sounds vaguely familiar
It was the only way I could do it without being hit with a copyright claim haha
Amazing playing, pedal sounds good as well 😀
Thank you!!
what do you think of this pedal vs the pedal pawn texan twang? Love your content!!
Don't support scammers!!!
@Mac MFer Mason is still lying to this day, burn your money however you like. So many great builders out ther, why support a scammer, a weird hill to die on, but you do you!
@@Utube-g3g Yup, he is a scammer up to this day, he had enough opportunities to change he is not changing, specially because people for some reason belive his BS.
Immediately bought this peddle during listing to this review
Man you won't be disappointed you're gonna love it
It’s funny you’re trying this on a Super Sonic 22. I just got myself a rare Super Sonic Twin 2x12. It absolutely nails it with the Twin/Bassman circuit.
How would you compare it to the JCA Texas Flood?
Great pedal, superb playing!
Why is it so expensive! 😢 I deeply want and need it lol
They're going for $249.99 retail, I wouldn't look at reseller prices on reverb
At 6:10 I swear I thought I heard fans starting to cheer for your playing
Nice sounds 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When are you gonna do an AMA for us people who don't have instagram? I miss every single one :( I have questions I need answered!
SOON! I'll make a post on the community page and have people comment their questions
Excellent video again! Curious what single coil pickups you are using in the strat. Tone for days my friend🤘
The first blue strat has fender 65 pickups, the second one has magneto design labs pickups! Thank you
I’d love to know the spec on you strat neck is 7.25 bounded size frets ? Sounds awesome
Thanks! It’s a parts caster I put together. The neck is nothing special I believe it’s an all parts neck if I remember correctly 9.5 and needed a whole bunch of work to it haha (refret etc..)
I like that in Mason's demo of this pedal on the Sweetwater page he is using it as a preamp into an IR and it actually sounds awesome in that manor. Im considering get this pedal due to its versatility and price, but i still really want to get the Gladio instead. I really want to have a Ceritone Centura, either a Protein or Toxic Twins, and either a Vertex SSS SVR or Gladio for all my overdrive options, and i just bought a Spaceman Sputnik III for fuzz, but not sure if its going to take the place of my Nano Big Muff Pi, or keep both on my board. Im just starting to get into dirty sounds. I have a Blues Driver, Fender MGT Tube Distortion and a Nano Big Muff Pi, but i dont use them often and not the biggest fan of them, so i might just be going overboard buying all these new drives to discover what type of gain tones resonate with me more, but thats part of the fun. 😁
Buying more is always my preferred option haha. You really can't go wrong with any of the things you've mentioned!!
Hi Buddy! You say you put the pedal in the very very end of the chain. What about effects like modulation/delay/reverb? In this case you're probably using the amp built-in reverb and not delay, but what about a situation where I use a Flint for reverb? Where do you recommend me to place the SSS? Thanks in advance!
Hello!! You're right on the board with the sss I do not have delay or reverb. If I did they would go after the sss, flint included
@@BuddyBlues I agree with you. I got confused about this when I saw the "Does It Do Eric Johnson's Dumble Tone?" video from Vertex. They treat the SSS as an amp (preamp) and they suggest placing it at the very end, even after delay or chorus fx. I'll experiment with both options, probably both sound interesting. Ooh I hate plugging and unplugging cables haha Thank you for your answer Buddy!
I was about to order aTexas Twang pedal, about $250. But this sounds great too!!! Whats the price?
249€ in Europe. I ordered one on Thomann's website. Waiting for it. Chose it for it's versatility. It can also be used as a virtual amp direct with a cab sim into a mixer. Cheers
Killer playin'...fat sound...tone heaven man, well done!
Always demonstrating the best coolest pedals
I bought the old pedal, But now I want the upgrade , thanks for the tip!!
How do/did you like it what kind of
tones could you nail with it? And have you
tried the SRV SSS, any difference?
Which one is your favourite Buddy? The SSS or SRV? I have the regular steel string. Can’t decide which one for fat cleans and overdrive
If I ever decide to build an SRV board, Id go for the SRV. For all my other needs I still love my regular SSS. It does everything. The SRV is a little fatter.
@@BuddyBlues ok thanks for the reply man🙂
Can the SRV version sound like the SSS by cutting out the bottom end with the EQ? Meaning if I had to get one, which one had the more features that can sound like the rest ?
You nail it brother!
Thank you! I try to get as close as possible no one does Stevie like Stevie!
You were touched by the spirit of SRV...
This sounds so clean
Strat tone heaven 😁🎸🖖🏻
Great ... 😀🤟
Nice playin’!
how's it sound with a les paul, an es335 or tele?
Well I can’t really do 4 guitars each review the video will be 863 hours long but it takes humbuckers amazingly, I’m certain it does great with a tele as well but I don’t own a tele
@@BuddyBlues thanks, ive only found videos of this pedal done with a strat and figured with that wall of guitars behind you, certainly you've tried humbuckers thru the pedal.
you have to get a tele though ...ted greene, james burton, roy buchanan, danny gatton, john 5 wouldn't have it!
A good run through demo for the pedal.
Thank you!
Nice! Almost sounds as good as the Donner blues drive vintage pedal, almost.
Was waiting to see if you would use a better guitar like a Les Paul but no. Boo-urns.
Right before Stevie Ray Vaughan joined Metallica, he switched from using ONLY a Les Paul to a Jackson V. Then, he sold his number 1 guitar that he played since he was 5 to Slash. This is how Slash got his first “better guitar”, a Les Paul. From Stevie Ray.
Beautiful playing. And that pedal really brings out that strat sound with an edge to it. It does have that SRV tone. I spent many years in 80s and 90s chasing that tone.
Curious if you've tried the Ethos Clean II?
Not yet!
Just like a junkie I had to buy it....and so I did..
Sounds like rick james.
