Wintersun is finnish metal band from nations capitol Helsinki. Jari Mäenpää (guitar, leadsinger) is mastermind behind the band and Wintersun started as his soloproject while he was still playing in Ensiferum (great finnish metal band also 😉)
Other wizards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar, backing vocals), Jukka Koskinen (bass, backing vocals) and "human metronome" Kai Hahto (drums).
There are still two songs from same rehearsals "Time" and "Land of Snow and Sorrow" from Time 1 album.

I think my best part was when I found this band. It was an accident. I saw reaction of Kai's drumming. It seemed so crazy. I had to check what kind of song he was drumming of. This was that song and my mind blows out. This is great band.
What really makes me like your channel much more than other reactors is that you don't pause every 3 measures of a song but still try your best to go into details afterwards. And it is fun to watch you enjoy the music. For Wintersun you should definitely check out "Time" from the same studio live recording
Do you watch Critical Reactions? He does the same. Big fan of that style. I don't mind the pausing if people rewind a bit. A lot of reactors have started catching on to that.
This song is from 2012. 2012!!!!!!!! And it's still so relevant now, i'm so fucking proud that there's new fans even after 10 years

Jari Mäenpää (the singer-songwriter) is amazing guitarist, but they have a new guitarist now, and Jari focus on singing. Teemu Mäntysaari who plays the other guitar on this video is even better than Jari, and you can find a lot of amazing cover songs, where he plays Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, Whitesnake etc. Still, Jari did one of the hardest solos ever on their song Winter Madness.

Well now that you've seen this you MUST watch "Time" from the same rehearsal. It's a right of passage at this point.
If you thought the vocals and guitar were great here, this is nothing compared to "Time".
Also, I like to refer to bands like NightWish and WinterSun as Metal Theatre.
You're not wrong, land of snow and sorrow and time from this album are so stupidly good in every way but for some reason they are forgotten quite often.
@@kookoo9235 Most people don't have the patience to listen to WinterSun beyond being mind blown by Sons, even though every comment section on reacts to Sons one of the top comments is do Time or Loneliness.

You caught my favourite part, the guitar harmonies. Land of Snow and Sorrow has a lot more of that, its fantastic.
Kai and Jukka are both playing in Nightwish now. Kai is a permanent member, and Jukka is "session Bassist" for the live shows, and so far only plays bass in Marko's stead, not yet singing. Also, their other new guitarist (erm, Wintersun's that is) Asim Searah, opened for Nightwish when they did their not-so-secret rehersal in front of fans as the Russian cover band "Nevski and the Prospects" also doing some NW covers.

You are correct! Actually, I am a huge fan of Hatsune Miku and vocaloid music in general. There are some very heavy metal Miku songs too. Maybe I'll do a reaction on the channel soon to one!
