Band from Helsinki, Finland. Wintersun = EPIC Metal at its best. My favourite songs are 'Sons of Winter and Stars' + 'Time' and 'Land of Snow and Sorrow' all songs from the same live rehearsal. And don't forget their concept album: 'the forrest seasons'. Greetings from Switzerland!
Greetings from Finland & welcome to the wonderful world of Finnish metal - first with Nightwish & now with Wintersun. They just played more different chords in just one song that many other bands in their entire discography. No wonder Finland is the most metal country in the world with 700+ metal bands per 1M citizens. No other country comes even close, e.g. the U.S. has well under 100/1M.
Hei there. Kai Hahto, the drummer is now the current drumer of NIGHTWISH. And during 2021 the bassist Jukka Koskinen is playing Nightwish live shows as well.
Thank you for reacting to this song! I knew you would like it. Kai, the drummer, is always sweating a lot and I don't know how he manages to bang on the right apart of his drumkit with his eyes stinging with sweat😂. Other really good songs by Wintersun are "Time " and "Land of Snow and Sorrow". Fyi... Finland doesn't fall under the term Scandinavia. Norway, Sweden and Denmark do. Have a nice weekend!

Jari the singer was in Ensiferum another Finnish band before this-they are quite well known in Finland,and also a good band
Ensiferum is definitely another good band, and one that's tried to keep the fan connection during the pandemic, particularly with their video for Rum, Women, Victory - when the album came out but tours couldn't happen, they basically put it out on their social media for fans to film themselves rocking out to the song and send it to them, then they chose a bunch of those clips and made an "audience participation" music video out of them.
Two key reasons this song is recommended: it melts your face off, every time, and the ties to Nightwish. Surefire way to wake up for the day. 🤘🤘🥁🥁🥁

The lead singer is Jari Mäenpää. He previously was in Ensiferum and Immemorial. Amazing vocalist, considering he lost a lung to Tuberculosis in his youth.
And that drummer Kai Hahto has been playing with Nightwish since late 2013. And the bassist Jukka has joined for their latest tour.
these guys and especially singer and songs writer and maker jari mäenpää is awesome. if this is music not go viking,pirates,robin hood,king arthur time,i dont know what goes :) thanx to great reaction and awesome day there and weekend. drummer and bassist play now nightwish also. finland they come. they other big hits are time,land of snow and sorrow and loneliness ( my favorite,jari make that song to him father who die, song are only lyric version other can find pump studios version like this one ).

Wintersun are so great technical, and I cannot even start to imagine what great shape Kai (the drummer) must is in, I'm getting exhausted just by watching him.
Two suggestion from Wintersun is Time (also live studio session), and loneliness.

Jariis prior band was/is Ensiferum. Their first three albums are godlike if you like this kind of music. Later Ensiferum is still very, very good, but Jari was only on first 2 albums.
Also Wintersuns first album is heavy as hell. And has many awesome tracks and guitarwork. Recommended.
The Drummer Kai Hahto is like playing Whac-A-Mole game with twelve mole hills and game speed set to "Insane", still hitting every mole. ; )

Wintersun is from Finland.
Kai the drummer and Jukka the bassist are now in Nightwish as well as Wintersun.
Jari the lead singer takes his time writing songs and has had 25% of his lung removed from getting TB serving in the Finnish Army.
There is now another guitarist Asim who is also an amazing singer and has a RUclips channel.
Jari is focusing more on singing which is why they got Asim.
There's the Wintersun podcast which is on Asim's RUclips channel.

Well, I was the actual donater of this video and thanks for the information you provided him about this video. I couldn't say it any better than you did it. 😉👍So that is why I didn't gave him background information and just gave him the video and let him enjoy it. 😉 For me it was the quality of the music I wanted to provide him with since he is a metal head. They are so talented but everytime I watch Jari, Teemu and Jukka I am so jealous ( in a good way) of their long fingers 😂.That sounds odd hahaha, but a long time ago I tried to play the guitar. My fingers couldn't or wouldn't do what I wanted😖 so sadly I quit. But I enjoy watching others who can play

Finland is geographicly not a part of Scandinavia, but Finland, (Iceland too), as a society is very similar to the Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Denmark, Norway. These 5 coutries are The Nordic coutries. They formed a passport union in 1960 I think it was. A citizen of any of the 5 coutries can move freely in all of those countries, live and work anywhere he/she likes, and have all the benefits, social security, healthcare, that the citizens of that particular country have.
(There is a golf course across the border. A part of it is in Finland, and the other part in Sweden. No border formalities.)
