I hope your channel goes big and you won't change the way you do reviews. I like the objective approach with regards to the presentation without any flashy (pseudo-funny) expressions. Wish you luck.
I've been watching him for quite awhile now and I don't take anybody elses opinion on controller other than his, I feel like we have a very similar taste in controller and how they should feel and he covers everything i want a reviewer to cover. All everybody else does is covers the buttons and says it's an amazing controller. i find those reviews so pathetic and pretty much just a sponsored post.
I was waiting for your review before pulling the trigger on Razer v3 TE. This si a great, honest review. Keep it up. At this point you are the only controller reviewer i trust. Thank you 🙏
@@thephototechy Mine arrived with the A button sometimes not registering inputs unless pressed harder than usual, only happens when I play with a claw grip so the paddles make up for the issue.
@@XipsiiL bro I have a serious play on sticks which I just can't get used to and the right bumper has a mind of its own at times 😞. If I can get a good unit of the series 2 I'd definitely use it a lot, specially in Xdefiant as that game can somehow feel better with high resolution sticks.
@@thephototechysame here bro, mine has huge play, sometimes over 10% on the left stick which gives really bad drift when releasing, the right also has a lot of play but generally doesn’t drift as badly
Hands down the best video i've watched regarding this controller. I will be purchasing a returned one and manually callibrating it myself hehe. Thank you.
Great review, appreciate your work. I got a v3 TE last week. For me, it’s the best Xbox controller I’ve ever used (and I’ve tried a lot). The higher stick tension is a big plus, the circular output setting works great in Halo, and I really like this back button layout over the alternatives. Only nitpicks so far: the triggers and back buttons are hard and can get a little uncomfortable in a long session, and I wish the bumpers were more clicky like the triggers and face buttons.
Definitely my 4 back button controller too, for 2 back buttons I'm sticking with G7se and Kaleid, hoping to get the HE stics for Thrustmaster soon, those might change things around for me.
One thing Id like to see on this controller is a mute/unmute buttons using left and right dpad and menu buttons. It would make it easier to mute. Im sure it could be implemented in a software patch or on another model.
Don’t the G7 SE/HE is still better and the sticks on the Razer are so stiff 👎🏻 and remember GameSir is soon coming out with a G7 PRO controller with all the same stuff the V3 PRO have + the G7 PRO will have the new TMR sticks 🙌🏻
If you need the extra buttons then definitely, but if you are ok with 2 back buttons on the G7se then I'd say stick with that, unless you actually would like to try that standard output of the V3 TE. the 1000hz on G7se on xbox is definitely something very unique.
Don’t listen to people saying the g7 se is better, I’ve had 2 that broke because the cable wouldn’t connect or stopped working, everyone wants to sugar coat gamesir and dick ride them, like 50% of their batch are faulty controllers.
In the 1000hz Mode ("PC") the controller is using an Xbox 360 driver. Which means : No extra mapping , no trigger vibrations & no share button. Very barebones if you want a 1000hz. Also yes , your pedal mappings WILL WORK in 1000hz .
Hey bro so whatever you'll set in 250hz mode in the app wil still be there in 1000hz mode. Also in 1000hz mode you map the extr buttons on the controller itself without the app, but the app will only work in xbox 250hz mode.
@@thephototechy thank for the reply ! Yes i know , but software like Re-wasd for other mappings would put it back to 250hz Also the xbox 360 driver disables trigger vibrations & no option to use the xbox / share button . So you lose alot for the 1000hz . I ending up using the Xbox series x/s driver in 250hz mode (wired on pc)
@@midboys hey bro thanks for sharing this info, I only game on console so haven't tried any remapping on PC yet. Will pin this so others can find this information 🙏
I’m confused, I see in top comments that you get 1000 hz with Xbox 360 drivers!? Lol sorry can you clarify on this? I own the pro version so maybe I’m out of luck
Great video m8 🤗 It’s an “okay” controller, G7 SE/HE is still better in my opinion and you can get two G7 SE/HE for the same price as one V3 TE and soon the G7 PRO will launch with TMR sticks 🙌🏻 I hate trigger stops, it’s trash, “hair” triggers like on the G7 is way better in my opinion so it’s not just a “you” think, a lot of people don’t like trigger stops.
Thanks for sharing bro, I do think the aiming performance of G7se in 1000hz beat this for sure. Mechanical trigger stops can be good, like I have in teh Hex phantom which I did get adjusted to, here on the V3 they feel of better quality but the increased force definitely makes me want to not use them, as I can press the trigger much quicker qithout them engaged.
I just wanna say i loved this review. Fair and honest, and unlike other reviewers you dont present things that are opinion/preference as fact. Even reading the comments here i see preferences stated as fact. I have a question for you. I have the Gamesir SE and Kaleid. If they have the same sticks why do they feel so different? The Kaleid sticks feel so loose and not precise compared to the SE for me.
7:30 just letting you know, you can adjust the deadzones to 0 on the wolverine chroma. The slider is a bit weird, you have to move it all the way to 4 or 5 then bring it down to 0.
Hey what's your firmware version on chroma? Mine is 1.2.0.0 and the slider only has 1-4 either no 0 option. Also if your chroma can do 0 deadzone it might be able to do manual calibration as well, using the method I showed for the V3 in a separate video, can you confirm this plz.
@@thephototechy sorry I'm actually mistaken, it does only go to 1. For some reason, I was imagining a 0. The reason why is because I assumed 1 equalled a 0 on the chroma as I find it a lot more responsive than a 1 on the v3 TE. But that is my bad.
@@ALI.x thanks for calling informing bro, I was thinking maybe I have the old batch and there is a new batch out there with V3 firmware on it 😂. What you've just described is the difference of HE vs potentiometer, we really need a proper 0 deadzone on HE in my experience, where as on potentiometer sticks I've used a slight deadzone just to overcome that over sensitive feel. Really appreciate you taking the time and confirming this!
I had the exact same issue as you. My hands cramped as well. I also agree with you on the triggers. Its mouse click but they are a longer pull then the Scuff triggers and it felt slow to me. Right now the Scuff is still my favorite, followed by the Gamsir G7 SE. I do feel though if you are a fan of the V2 you will like the V3. Its not a bad controller, just not for me.
@@thephototechy The scuff is great. Only thing is it can get stick drift. I normally don't buy an extended warranty but I did on the scuff. I have had mine now for two years and really haven't developed any stick drift so far, but have friends that haven't been so lucky.
I got one and was extremely frustrated with it disconnecting mid game. I replaced the usb cable and all good now. Easily the best controller I’ve owned.
Great review, I really value the aspects you cover and the detail you go into in your videos. I'm really thinking this is the controller for me for Black Ops 6 but knowing my luck GameSir will release a Pro controller within a month 😅
Hey bro, amazing feeling controller for sure. Only thing I wish they added was a deadzone % slider instead of 5 options because you're only going to be using 0-2. Anything above that is just ridiculous so if we had finer control that would be amazing.
Also I have the same issue as yours. My left inputs are Slightly higher than my right. It's not horrible but I'm very finicky and I can feel those slight things. Hopefully a Software update could fiX it but tbh the mass audience will not even notice those things so nothing will happen 😭🤣
Ah man I ca't believe you have the same as mine. I don't think this can be fixed via firmware, as my Stealth Ultra has this with a lot worse values, and many firmware updates came for that one, even one with aim output change and this is stilll there, as if the sticks on hardware level can't read some values.
As far as the smart triggers go, I think you’re just not used to it. It took me a month or two for those to feel natural to me when I got a Scuf Instinct since I’ve been using the regular triggers for most of my life. 2 years later and now I can’t play with anything else, which is why this controller is so appealing to me, especially with the price being so cheap compared to the competition.
i can't believe u where used to press the back buttons with the pinkies! I think you are the only one doing this. It's completely normal to use ring and middle fingers.
Hey bro sorry I don't use the little finger for pressing the back buttons, I meant to describe using them for the grip, where the bottom of the grip gives ome levarage to the little finger. for pressing it's mostly the middle finger and on some I can use the ring finger as well, like the V3 TE.
Ordered from Amazon, sent it back the day I got it. Hurt my hands, and I can seriously feel the 250 hz on xbox. I play with gamesir g7 se and it's night and day. Gamesir SE can't be beat
Atm i have gamesir g7 se and black ops 6 is coming so wanna be as competetive as i can , from all controllers you tested is g7 se still the best or this volverine worth upgrade ?most important as less input delay as possible im on xbox series x
Wow great review, just recently got this controller and am loving it. Better than the stealth ultra atleast for me. Wish they had a better pc app though feels so basic and why it isn't part of the razer synap makes no sense.
Great Review. Just something I’ve noticed, it’s very difficult to find you. Typing “Photo Techy” into the search bar without something like “Gamesir” or other Key words doesn’t show your channel. I’m subbed for while, but usually I search for channels instead of scrolling through the list.
Tried the wireless version of this this last week and really wanted to love it because it’s as close to a perfect controller as I’ve tried. EXCEPT.. something about the contour especially below the trigger area made it too uncomfortable on my middle fingers. It basically forces you to death grip it and if you have bigger hands it just doesn’t work. It’s a shame because I truly think this is the best on the market at this point.
Bro you are describing something very similar to my grip issues with this. Had cramps in my left hand the first day, but holding the controller strongly from the sides has made it tolerable for me.
I slapped on a KontrolFreek grip on both sides and it feels amazing. I have larger hands and was worried about that, because it seems to be a recurring complaint, so I bought them when I got the controller and didn’t give it a chance to pop up. I did have to modify the grip because of the length, which gave me a couple of pieces to add at the back of the trigger housing, making it even more comfortable.
@@O5IR15 That's a great idea and I thought about doing something similar. Even test cut a piece of poron foam to see how it would feel, but was worried about the longevity of it if I glued it down. I feel like there would be a huge market for a grip for this that solves this issue. I am glad you could get it to work.
@@tylerfrench4996 the KontrolFreek grips work perfectly, even almost lining up exactly with the buttons on the rear. I mainly had to trim the length, since they are just a bit stubby compared to the Xbox One controller. That gave me the needed piece on either side for the trigger housing. I would assume KontrolFreek would be quick to jump on making a set specifically for this controller. As long as the demand was there. Given this controller is a serious 9.8/10 (10/10 once you add the grip) I think the extra $15 for the grips and a couple of minutes cutting to fit is more than worth the added cost. Literally everything else about it is perfect, coming from an Elite Series 2 controller, which my original took almost 3 years to developer stick drift, and the Core I replaced it with is perfect out of the box. My only reason for swapping is the much faster response time on Tournament mode (I’m on PC and play wired even though I sprung for the Pro series Razer), and the extra top bumpers, otherwise I would have stayed with the Elite Series 2. I do wish the sticks had adjustable tension built in, but they feel tight enough without that for me to mark it as a complaint.
I don't know if this is a feature to raise the analog stick a bit higher, but I can pull my right stick up & it make "click" sound, it goes up few centimeter higher for my V3 tournament edition. After the joystick is raised up I can play normal, no stick drift no nothing...... I even checked Razer website for this & there's nothing about it, I checked RUclips & there's nothing about it either....is that something Razer left behind?.
Hey so I'd highly recommend not using any deadzones in the app and that'd mean double deadzone diesn't do nothing. If you have drift at rest then using in game deadzone is a much better option.
Going from 1000hz to 250hz is not worth it performance wise, but if you want the cool features then switching is ok. I personally would've bought it if you could access 1000hz on Xbox
Hey, great review as usual. How does aiming on this controller feel compared to the Vitrix Gambit? Is one more reaponsive than the other? Do the response curves feel similar?
Hey bro so Gambit does have it's own aim feel that I haven'tfelt in any other controller. Those favorunion sticks definitely feel great and perform very well, but my Gambit has a lot of play time now and it's definitely degraded even after calibrations and that built in deadzone which wasn't much of an issue in the biginning, now seems to be worse feeling, might because of me playing with 0 deadzones all this time. The V3 TE is a vey good HE stick performer but it'll still have that HE feel to it, but it'll allow you to play with a true 0 deadzone which is a plus for sure.
In Warzone, how do you recommend setting deadzones? For example, should I set it to 1 in the Razer software and 1 in Warzone? Or would it be better to set 0 in Razer and 2 in Warzone? How does that work?
@@marioramos3415 hey bro definitely use 0 in Razer app and only use in game deadzones if the drift is too much at rest. I find HE can feel really awkward with deadzones applied and truly shine with 0 deadzones, at least for me, as I do use a small deadzone on normal sticks but not on HE controllers
hi, friend I'm trying to know something about the gamesir g7 se: Is it normal that it is more difficult for me to control the recoil of weapons in shooting games? I recently acquired the gamesir g7 se and I feel that it is difficult for me to have better aim compared to the normal xbox controller I don't know if it's me or if it's a software problem or because of the type of stick that the gamesir g7 has. I hope you can help me
@@naimnicolasramirezveloz118 hey bro so I felt that too initially where I had to find my on game sensitivity that worked well with HE sticks. I'd recommend using ng 0 deadzones in the Nexus app for sticks and use linear response curve in game with your preferred aim sensitivity, and definitely try to go a bit higher with sensitivity then you are used to on normal sticks, see if that helps
Quick Question: I have a been using Gamesir G7 se and he for most of the last year, I recently tried the Power A fusion 4 since its the first power a I've seen with HE sticks but for some reason no matter how much I tuned and recalibrated I could not get them to feel as responsive as the game sir sticks. so I am wondering how do these feel in comparison to the g7 se/he sticks? added: is it possible the fusion 4 felt off because i have the g7 set to 1000hz?
Hey bro so personally I can use a controller without the 1000hz on Xbox and still be fine, but the G7se in 1000hz is definitely something special. Tye Fusion 4 also gave me issues as well when it comes to aiming, it's something I showed in my full review. This one is different than the Fusion 4 and will give a more responsive feel, it's still not like the Gamesir but very similar style output, just with lower resolution.
Good day my brother. I'm getting an update notification on my Xbox app for V3 te but the update will not work. Just sit there and spins in the upper right hand corner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hey bro ! I just purchased the v3 tournament and I set my deadzones on the app to 0 and on warzone to 0 aswell. I have a slight drift only because of the play on the sticks. Should I bump it upto 1 or 2 on warzone ? Also, what dead zones do you have on your game ? Thankyou ! 🙏
Hey bro so with HE sticks I personally find 0 works best for me, that slight drift if the centre point is good should actually be a benefit for aim assist. Normal potentiometer sticks without deadzones can feel uncontrollable, at least at my skill level but HE definitely feel great with 0 or the most minimal deadzone you can get away with.
Thanks a lot bro ! Should the double deadzone checkbox be clicked or is it better not to tick the box since I want to play with zero deadzones on app and warzone ? Thankyou 🙏
@@cchhaarriitthh94 Hey I did get a comment from someone saying the double deadzone ticked introduced a delay, with deadzones set to 0 the box is not doing anything in my tests, I'd say keep it ticked off just in case in some scenarios it bugs out and adds a delay.
Bro they removed the calibration option in the last update, noooo, after the update my controller have some weird outer deadzones and I can not get full range anymore, so sad.
Hey Techy! Someone found the v3 pro having 150 stick resolution instead the 100 stick resolution in the TE sticks, do you think this is a big deal? Ty.
@@pandoro2003 hey bro yes if the pro has higher resolution then it’ll be a big deal at least for me, as the TE is even lower than a dualsense. Also 150 does sound like a sweet spot, now I’m thinking I need to get it myself 😂. Hoped it’s a linear resolution and not like the fusion 4 where we have very small inserts making the number higher
@@thephototechy I had this already got the TE after your resolution video, my TE improved after calibrations, my PRO feels weird, maybe bad unit, but in the future if razer release calibration for these in the app my PRO can improve.
I’m still not quite understanding the double dead zone feature. In layman’s terms what does having it enabled vs not having it enabled mean. Does having is disabled (unchecked) essentially mean it’s just raw input ? As in whatever I use in game that’s what the input will be ? Thanks again !
@@theycallmeozzie hey bro so double deadzone enable will only work if you have a deadzone applied in the Razer app. Personally keeping it off with 0 deadzones applied in Razer app is the best solution, specially how its currently implemented where we have a set amount of output linked to used deadzones in the app.
@@thephototechy appreciate it man ! Also thank you for helping with the sensitivity bug it was driving me insane and I couldn't find a solution anywhere. I'll be frequenting your videos from now on !
Just a comment as someone who owns and loves a wolverine v3. The Xbox s x I believe is capped at 250hz for controllers so regardless of controller capabilities, the hz will never be above 250. Is this right ? I did some research before getting my v3 which lead to this. Great controller though!
As someone who really wants 4 rear buttons, smooth thumbtack rings, mouse clicky, and 1000HZ capabilities do you think I should pick this one up or wait for the Gamesir G7 Pro that’s supposedly coming out.
Hey bro I'm not sure if the Gamesir pro will have 4 back buttons, right now we only have the front image. I really hope they make one with 4 back buttons, and hopefully it'll behave like the Kalied where we get a true 1000hz on PC and still can use 500hz on Xbox.
suddenly if I understood correctly the double dead zone option that's it if you have 5% dead zone and in the game you also have 5% dead zone if you do not check the double dead zone option it gives you a total of 10% and if you activate it you make 5%
Fantastic review! Thank you for sharing such deep insights about the controller's performance. This is my first HE thumbstick controller, so I was surprised to see that there is stick drift. Do all HE thumbsticks drift at 0 deadzone? Should I keep trying to recalibrate the sticks? Besides the slight stick drift, I adore this controller. I wish I never bought my Elite Series 2 and had known this was coming out. I play both MnK and controller on Apex Legends and now have a hall effect (Wooting) keyboard and hall effect Razer Wolverine v3 TE 😆
Hey so with any controller having a true 0 deadzone will show a slight drift depending the play the spring has. This is definitely not game breaking and can actually be beneficial for aim assist. I personally play with 0 deadzones on all my HE controllers as I do find adding a deadzone on HE sticks makes them feel sluggish for me at least. You can check how much register you have at rest and If the centre point is not exactly centre then you might have the drift all on one side which makes it feel like a lot more than it should be. With the V3TE you should have a good centre with no deadzones and minimal drift at rest, depending of in game sensitivity you use.
Hey, I have a quick question. I just recently got this controller and have downloaded the app. I do not, however, have any calibration options within the app. It will also not let me change button bindings within the app. (Im on PC BTW) Also what 3rd party app/website do you use for calibration?
Since I play some games I won't use the back buttons with do you think it's easy to get used to them being there? The elite you can remove the back buttons.
@thephototechy you can make a profile that disables the back buttons and switch to that profile when you play games that you don't use back buttons for. That way even if you did Press it nothing would happen anyway
Can you do a comparison with the TE against the Pro please? I have just seen a comparison between them both and the Pro has a much higher resolution compared with the TE and I like to see this confirmed.
Do you think the joysticks will last? I just ordered the v3 but I never had any problems with the previous razer joysticks. I don’t really see the point in them switching to Hall effect but I haven’t used them yet so can’t say.
I will look forward to watching this in the morning. Still have no idea when the one I ordered weeks ago will turn up. Amazon still says between November and March as a date. I’m really hoping that the date on the Razor website saying this controller releases on the 16th of this month means that Amazon will get and ship then that day. Still haven’t been able to over clock my new Kaleid after the last broke too. Tried doing it a second pc and the t4k app still says “controller not found”.
Hey bro I got it directly from razer's website, Amazon is a bit of hit and miss with new release products. I pre ordered the Thrustmaster hall effect sticks from Amazon, only to be told on the delivery day that it'l arrive some time between December and April.
Hey bro I love your videos, a question if I may ask; that part double deadzones, so when I play Elden ring which is my single player game of choice when I don't want to play Apex, i notice to move the camera i have to move past a certain threshold would that disable double deadzones work to make the camera feel more like a linear deadzone like in apex ?
Hey bro so that's exactly what I was trying to say that we need a custom output option. SO right now if you have any deadzones applied on the razer app without prevent double ticked, you have the double deadzone happening. Now you can check the prevent deadzone option but it'll only apply to what you've set your deadzones in the app, so setting 1 is like a 3% and increases from there. Now Elden ring might have a 10% minimum applied, if Razer allow us a 10% output with 3% set in the app, that'd be the perfect solution. Right now the best I can think of is keeping them 0 in app or maybe try a slighty higher number like 2-3 with double deadzone ticked for elden ring.
How do you find aiming with the wolverine compared to other Hall effects controller? I find my g7 better but I want to make my wolverine feel like the g7
Hey if you can disable the deadzones in the game and using just the ones in Razer app, then keep it off, but you can try it on to see if you prefer that initial quick response. My personal settings are deadzones complete off then double deadzone doesn't do anything so checked off.
Hey bro, I wanted to give you an update on the Nacon PS5 edition. These are the issues I listed when I returned it to the store: R2 button is broken. X button stops working intermittently. Touchpad stops working intermittently. Unable too switch profiles intermittently. Stick drift on right analog stick. Controller goes into charge mode sometimes when I switch the console on and won’t work. I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. Hopefully I just got a faulty controller and this store replaces it because I don’t want them to try to repair that.
Woah bro those are some serious quality issues, specially for a controller at the Nacon's asking price. I haven't used it much since getting the Edge but they really need to add a manual calibration option for us to be able to adjust the centre point, so we have minimal drift at rest.
@@thephototechy I’ve only had the controller for 8 months so I guess I’m stuck with it. The quality from Nacon this time around is shocking. I went through 2 Nacons in a decade of using the PS4 and I only replaced the my first Nacon because one of the back buttons started having intermittent issues. No stick drift whatsoever on those controllers. If only Sony allowed us to use our older controllers on PS5 versions of games, then I wouldn’t be down $200
Great video you have a new subscriber, I'm looking for a new Xbox controller that has the lowest delay and hall effect deadzones. As far as I know, only the G7 SE is hitting 1000hz on Xbox right? Also maybe TLR sticks will be superior and I hear the G7 Pro will offer them. But it will it have 1000hz?! This is madness lol
Hey bro thanks for the sub, as I write this reply I'm going through some test results for the wolverine V3 TE on Xbox, where I used the shortcut to enable 1000hz profile. I noticed we can do the shortcut on Xbox and the controller restarts, and when connect to PC afterwards it's in 1000hz already. About to get all the data to see if there's a difference at all. So far the G7se has been the best performing in 1000hz on Xbox in ally tests. But my SE is firmware 6.30, newer ones coming with 6.33 out of box so not sure about those, need to get one to test.
Thank you friend! I hear TLR sticks will be the future beyond hall effect, so I'm sure I can look forward to a comprehensive comparison... even across firmwares?!?! Wow bro you are killing it GGs out there
Great video butt i have test this v3 to i not like it the tension are to stiff for me to play with micro aim ...have you all ready try the sh5 modules for the eswap contfollers ?
@@thephototechy hi bro you let us know you opinion about the sh5 i really not happy the s5 modules feel so much better hope you have answer what it is about the new sh5 modules
What’s the difference between this one and the more expensive one? I’m thinking of just biting the bullet and getting the more expensive one if it has a 1000Hz wired option as well.
@@thephototechyso there’s like no point in getting the wireless. Also as someone who really wants 4 back buttons, trigger stops and wants a controller that’s recognized as an Xbox controller so it works better across all games on pc I am thinking of upgrading to this from my Gamesir Kalied. Or should I wait for the G7 pro.
Hey @phototechy, I have had the pro wireless, my issue is aiming feels a bit inconsistent with this controller, I have to switch to my g7 se if I want to win my games. Do you encounter inconsistencies with this controller? Mind you I also go wired. I just want this controller to work!
Hey bro you really got me intrigued as what you describe might be the uneven output on your unit, which sounds way worse than mine. Can you please try playing with 0 deadzones in app and double deadzone not checked with standard output. Also recently I made a video about stick resoulition impact and at the end I showed a way you could potentially test your controller, to see if output is equal in all diections. Please try and do that test on HCI website, just to confirm you don't have any wonky output on your sticks. Also do check if you need to updae that early firmware for the pro model which fixed some issue with the drift at 0 deadzones. ruclips.net/video/fkV3QLNQrps/видео.htmlsi=LPV_KaYqC-qpTGIL
I did the update via computer so yea no drift at 0, my issue is that controller feels weird wen aiming like as if there was delay or lagg idk my g7 just feels responsive. I play console, will this websites fix the problem or just help me confirm that there is a problem?
@@Mrchiefsaygg it'll just show the uneven output, so far I haven't seen a fix for this. A little uneven output is ok like maybe a 5% more or less either side, but a lot could potentially be the reason you feel it being very inconsistent. Now you've mentioned G7 which uses potentiometer sticks that and even the G7se will feel a bit different to this one as the output is different to this one having a bit lower resolution.
I don’t think people who own an elite 2 as their daily know what they are missing out on. This controller is 20x better the feeling is instant. I just switched from an elite 2 to this one a week ago and the feeling is night and day. The elite is trash
My comment got deleted 😢 great video, and visual representation of the calculations (standard, circular) have you thought about adding a stick tension section in your videos? Great video as always, I posted a link where Xbox support explains the calculations for elite V2.
Hey bro strange about the comment issue. I'm working on a solution to measure stick tension with a force meter. I do have a motorized solution to push the meter linearly so will be able to get accurate results. Definitely make it my next purchase.
@@DA-qv7vf they've used a linear output values algorithm, also we have option for 2 different diagonal values as well, but that HE feel is still there. So truly feel good with linear settings in game and 0 deadzones.
Hey bro the double deadzone will increase the first output value of the stick according to the deadzone you've chosen in the app. I'd recommend keeping the deadzones to 0 in the app and then you don't need double deadzone at all. if there is some drift at rest then use in game deadzones to get rid of it, but having a slight drift is actually helpful at times.
I get buzzing on the headset with this controller , its annoying but one way around this is to have a known good series controller connected whist this is also connected , functions as normal Longer term solution ( i dont know the details) is a steelseries gamedac for xbox Shame about the slight buzz , it isnt bad and i can turn volume down to combat it , but theres no place for that in such an expensive wired controller I think i will keep it and just get a gamedac gen 2 for my birthday
My only down side for me after using it since release is man it does feel smaller then the regular Xbox controller and I feel it affected my gaming aim for a bit lol I think I’m used to it now 😅
120% price increase from wired. Unless you're playing from across the room but even then why buy a pro controller if you're going to play wireless anyways.
Hey, This needs immediate testing. None of the razer wolverine line nor do other 3rd party controllers have a true 0 deadzone. Test the drift and the movement against the new gen controllers and the elite series 2, you'll find they're much more sensitive and faster than these controllers. The deadzone also doesn't disappear in the wolverines picture when you set it to 0, the dot just gets very small, hinting that the deadzone has not disappeared, but just as small as it can go.
Hey so elite series 2 has a lot higher resolution than the V3 here, that controller at centre will show a lot of movement, V3 with 0 selected is like a PS controller but again a little lower resolution then even that.
Yes, but it's also with the standard Xbox controllers, not just the elite 2. I've flicked the sticks and let them sit neutrally to test deadzone setting, there was more movement on the standard and elite series, with the same deadzone settings. It could be a resolution thing. I've picked up several controllers and out of box they seemed to have inherent deadzones regardless of them having setting that stated otherwise or allowing me to bring those settings to 0. Repeatedly, they have shown us our "options" and they don't match up with the standard, we should take that at face value. Why otherwise would we assume 0=0 if that has never been the case in the past? At the same time I can not speak for playstation players. I just know everytime I pick up a non official brand controller Radial is what it has, or it comes with inherent deadzones 1 of those 2, and they're both no-nos for me.
Bad controller, right analog tension is not consistent, up & right require less strength to move than bottom & left. Bad for muscle memory in FPS game😅
As someone who watches a lot of controller reviewers you have quickly become one of the best ones. Perfect balance of accessible and thorough
Bro I really appreciate all the support!
I hope your channel goes big and you won't change the way you do reviews. I like the objective approach with regards to the presentation without any flashy (pseudo-funny) expressions.
Wish you luck.
Hey thanks a lot for the kind words, really appreciate all the support!
Thank you 🙏
Hey bro thanks for all the support!
Once my Elite kicks the bucket definitely picking up this controller. Good review!
Thanks for all the support bro! Hopefully you have a good Elite copy unlike mine which has issues already.
Went through two Elite 2 controllers neither lasted a year - Razer Wolverine V2 or V3 is the way to go

Hey great video, I have on my radar the BigBigWon Blitz 2 (TMR version). 2000Hz polling rate, 1000Hz for gyro, and extra shoulder buttons
Oh man I've seen that one, definitely looks great, but I'm on console only currently. Hoping to check all those options soon once I have a gaming pc.
This is my daily controller now. Latency feels the best on Xbox.
Definitely my 4 back button controller too, for 2 back buttons I'm sticking with G7se and Kaleid, hoping to get the HE stics for Thrustmaster soon, those might change things around for me.
@@thephototechy how many ms of latency?
Is this a good upgrade from the standard series x controller
One thing Id like to see on this controller is a mute/unmute buttons using left and right dpad and menu buttons. It would make it easier to mute. Im sure it could be implemented in a software patch or on another model.
Oh yes that'd be a useful feature, I do use that on PS5 at times.
Excellent review, thank you. Seriously thinking about upgrading from the Gamesir G7 SE.
Don’t it’s 0 deadzone is terrible gamesir is way better
Don’t the G7 SE/HE is still better and the sticks on the Razer are so stiff 👎🏻 and remember GameSir is soon coming out with a G7 PRO controller with all the same stuff the V3 PRO have + the G7 PRO will have the new TMR sticks 🙌🏻
If you need the extra buttons then definitely, but if you are ok with 2 back buttons on the G7se then I'd say stick with that, unless you actually would like to try that standard output of the V3 TE. the 1000hz on G7se on xbox is definitely something very unique.
My g7 se and he are way worse than my v3 te. Easy to calibrate the v3 te...much better IMO @RealMadrid_BarcaFan
Which means :
No extra mapping , no trigger vibrations & no share button.
Yes i know , but software like Re-wasd for other mappings would put it back to 250hz
Also the xbox 360 driver disables trigger vibrations & no option to use the xbox / share button .

Great video m8 🤗
It’s an “okay” controller, G7 SE/HE is still better in my opinion and you can get two G7 SE/HE for the same price as one V3 TE and soon the G7 PRO will launch with TMR sticks 🙌🏻
I hate trigger stops, it’s trash, “hair” triggers like on the G7 is way better in my opinion so it’s not just a “you” think, a lot of people don’t like trigger stops.
Are you sure that the g7 pro is coming and with tmr sticks ?
@@maikelstapper4347 Yes I’m sure, Gamesir confirmed this on X and even teased the G7 PRO multiple times 👍🏻

@@thephototechy no problem and yes that is the case, makes sense. Thanks for your understanding!
Bro now you got me intrigued about the scuf and it's 20% off right, not good timing as I was 💬 ng of buying a force gauge 😂
Bro thanks for all the support! That G7 pro image does make it look great, I do hope they add 2 extra buttons on that.
On Steam eliminating any extra deadzones is very easy❤️
Hey bro I know PC has so many advantages, currently I'm only on consoles, hoping to get a PC soon.
Always great reviews thanks 😊
You are most welcome bro, and accept my thanks for all the support!

After a week straight of comparing the V3 wired wolverine vs the vader 4 pro, I kept the vader and sent back the razer.
@@elhomoflow hey bro thanks for mentioning this, definitely will look into this.
What would you choose between this and g7se/he??
Not really clear from your vid whether or not to keep double deadzone enabled
Hey so I'd highly recommend not using any deadzones in the app and that'd mean double deadzone diesn't do nothing. If you have drift at rest then using in game deadzone is a much better option.
I have the gamsir G7 SE, do you think i should stick with it or upgrade? If so what would you recommend as the best? As i have had my eye on this one
@@thephototechy Thanks a lot! To finish this, I wanted to ask if you recommend checking the option to avoid double deadzones? I play Warzone on PC.

hi, friend I'm trying to know something about the gamesir g7 se: Is it normal that it is more difficult for me to control the recoil of weapons in shooting games?

@@pandoro2003 hey bro yes if the pro has higher resolution then it’ll be a big deal at least for me, as the TE is even lower than a dualsense.

I think you need to update your controller because they patched that. I read that It was a calibration issue but with the update it should be fixed :)
Had to return. Power a fusion pro 4 is much more comfortable.
Hey bro thanks for sharing. The PowerA design always feels great for sure, specially for people already used to the xbox controller.
Bro these ones are definitely going to be felt under the fingers and you'll need to slightly adjust the grip to not press them
@@thephototechy yeah. I do have much smaller hands so it'll probably be easier for me to adjust but it's a shame these are completely non removable.
@thephototechy you can make a profile that disables the back buttons and switch to that profile when you play games that you don't use back buttons for. That way even if you did Press it nothing would happen anyway

Hey there PhotoTechy, have you ever considered reviewing the GuliKit KK3?
Oh yes bro, but currently only on consoles, once on a pc then there are many controllers I'd like to try for sure.
@@thephototechyThank you so much for your response, to mine and everyone elses comments. Keep up the good work, you're awesome
How do you find aiming with the wolverine compared to other Hall effects controller? I find my g7 better but I want to make my wolverine feel like the g7
So should we have prevent double deadzone on or off ?
Hey if you can disable the deadzones in the game and using just the ones in Razer app, then keep it off, but you can try it on to see if you prefer that initial quick response. My personal settings are deadzones complete off then double deadzone doesn't do anything so checked off.
Hey bro, I wanted to give you an update on the Nacon PS5 edition. These are the issues I listed when I returned it to the store:
R2 button is broken.
If only Sony allowed us to use our older controllers on PS5 versions of games, then I wouldn’t be down $200
Nacon analog stick verry shit! Ds4 and dualsense better than nacon.
Hey bro the SH5 should be arriving soon, had to order from Thrustmaster directly, waiting for them.
@@thephototechy hi bro you let us know you opinion about the sh5 i really not happy the s5 modules feel so much better hope you have answer what it is about the new sh5 modules
@@thephototechy you make a video about the sh5 modules ? for me feel weird compared to the s5 modules
how many grams of force is need to move the sticks
Hey bro working on a way to measure this, currently unable to.
The extra top buttons looking very interesting if you get used to it
They're good I wish more controllers had them
does v3 TE's trigger is vibration or not ?
thanks in advance.
Does anyone have the numbers on how much higher input latency VRR adds to audio/video?
What’s the difference between this one and the more expensive one? I’m thinking of just biting the bullet and getting the more expensive one if it has a 1000Hz wired option as well.
Wifi, replaceable thumb caps and a carrying case. For double the price
I think it's just wireless capability, carrying case, extra thumbstick tops and rubber grips. Internals have been advertised as the same.
@lizardon7096 the v3 is way better than gamesir
What is the first game you were playing?
@@jgonzaga23 hey bro mainly testing that n Xdefiant and COD MW3 currently
Oh nice. I might try defiant too.
@@thephototechy I have the g7 se and I wrote to razer asking them if they will update bcs this wolverine can be 1 of the best out there
I don’t think people who own an elite 2 as their daily know what they are missing out on.
@@thephototechy you are the man.
how's the sticks, linearly speaking ?
@@DA-qv7vf they've used a linear output values algorithm, also we have option for 2 different diagonal values as well, but that HE feel is still there. So truly feel good with linear settings in game and 0 deadzones.
do the thumbsticks feel stiff on this controller?
Can you use the tournement mode on a xbox?
Great video quality
@@iBlueClovr thanks for all the support bro!
how heavy is it w/o the wire?
I hope they make a v3 for playstation also!
I don't really understand what the double dead zone is for, I don't know if it should be activated or not?
Hey bro the double deadzone will increase the first output value of the stick according to the deadzone you've chosen in the app. I'd recommend keeping the deadzones to 0 in the app and then you don't need double deadzone at all. if there is some drift at rest then use in game deadzones to get rid of it, but having a slight drift is actually helpful at times.
@@thephototechy suddenly in the razer application I set myself to 0 and I uncheck the double dead zones
@@Luwra77 hey yes that's what I'm keeping and works really well with standard output selected.
What is the latency?
What’s the most recent firmware
I get buzzing on the headset with this controller , its annoying but one way around this is to have a known good series controller connected whist this is also connected , functions as normal
Longer term solution ( i dont know the details) is a steelseries gamedac for xbox
Shame about the slight buzz , it isnt bad and i can turn volume down to combat it , but theres no place for that in such an expensive wired controller
I think i will keep it and just get a gamedac gen 2 for my birthday
Didnt they just make the v2?
The back buttons needed a redesign badly
My only down side for me after using it since release is man it does feel smaller then the regular Xbox controller and I feel it affected my gaming aim for a bit lol I think I’m used to it now 😅
Every controller seems to have its pros and cons. Have yet to find a "perfect" controller yet
You and me both bro.
I'd rather use wireless. The cable gets in the way of my computer desk.
120% price increase from wired. Unless you're playing from across the room but even then why buy a pro controller if you're going to play wireless anyways.
Hey bro the wireless one definitely looks great but out of my range for sure.
@@bahgoesthesheep Why buy a pro controller at all then? Pros win using a stock controller.
Bad controller, right analog tension is not consistent, up & right require less strength to move than bottom
& left. Bad for muscle memory in FPS game😅
My gamesir G7 beats this controller for FPS game all day
No gyro. Last gen controller.
Which kontrolfreeks work on the razer wolverine v3 te is it the xbox or ps5???
