    I was cringing the whole time thinking you were going to accidentally touch the body to that filter on the back! From the camera angle the car body looks SO close to it, lol! Thank you for the demo - I am using GC for the first time, on a bike build, so it was really helpful to see it done here first. Regarding the tack cloth, it always feels greasy to me, but I will give it a try. Do you ever filter the clear when you pour into the airbrush? It has been 4 years since you posted this video, so you might not see this comment, no worries!

    Just curious, what size needle do you use when clearing with the 150.

    Great finish Dave. What size needle is in your airbrush?

    AWESOME. I was going to ask you how you clean all the Micro Sol and set off the body before clear coating. The dish washing detergent doesn't hurt the paint or decals then I gather? That's been my concern. Thanks mate! 👍😉

      +Homerlovesbeer2 Dish washing detergent will not do any harm to the paint or the decals. Its safe to use it.

    Wow does that gray *POP* with the clear. Excellent work.
    Do you use silly putty to mount the stick to the body?

    Is it okay to apply decals to the matte paint before clearcoat? I've heard that decals can 'silver' if they're not sandwiched between two layers of clearcoat.

      +Matthew Pham Gravity Colors dry to a semi gloss finish so it wouldn't be a matte surface to apply your decals on to. Also if you use a decal solution it helps the decals to adhere to the surface and silvering will not occur.
      You can still sandwich the decals between two layers of clear coats, but in my opinion and experience with gravity colors paints it is not necessary. But if you apply your decals to a perfectly matte surface then you should do a clear coat layer first and apply your decals on that "scratch" coat layer.

    I'm thinking about dabbling in urethane and this looks like my first product. Just curious - do you know the cfm rating of the spray booth you're using? Mine is I think a 385cfm fan across a 12x24" surface, so I want to make sure that's enough ventilation to exhaust the fumes. Don't wanna go killing people in the house.
    Also, can I use lacquer thinner to clean my airbrush after spraying the 2k clear?

    • @GravityColors
      @GravityColors  4 года назад

      That booth fan is a 440CFM rated fan. 385CFM is also plenty. It will do the job for sure. yes you can use lacquer thinner to clean your airbrush after spraying 2K. Make sure you clean it right away after your have finished spraying your 2k clear. 2K clear will start to get hard in 45 minutes.

    Did you wash the body and other parts after you had applied the decals? If so, how many days did you wait before washing?

    Was wondering how long do you wait to wet sand the clear coat after you apply the final coat of clear?

    • @GravityColors
      @GravityColors  8 лет назад

      24 hours is recommended to wait before wet sanding

    Another quick question....approx how much thinner did you add for the final coat? Approx what ratio? Beautiful job. Cheers 😊

    • @GravityColors
      @GravityColors  8 лет назад

      +Homerlovesbeer2 The default ratio is 3:1:1 then for the final coat it was 3:1:2 used. Added an extra part of thinner to the mix.
