Yuval you are the only one who can do a reenactment and have it just as entertaining as the first cut. Great Job and very nice piece. I hope you are back to work very soon. God Bless my friend.
Greetings Yuval, looks like we will be in a similar situation in the UK soon, it's a nice way to spend time alone. Thank you for sub titles those of us that are deaf or hard of hearing have to guess what's going on mostly, please include more if you can. Your box is really creative, unique in fact, beautifully made, the Celtic knot baffles many, but you have made it look more do-able, thank you for that, I'm sure lots of us will be having a go. Many thanks for your videos, they are inspiring.
Thank you S.!! I used to subtitle most of my videos, but it comes and goes, depending on my mood while editing them. I'll will do more of those in the future! Yuval
Ah the Celtic knot. Something I started once for my Uncle but, sadly, he passed away before I could complete the project. I will start it again, though. Probably a lot sooner, thanks to your vid. Thanks Yuval, a lovely project.
Thanks Matt! You should finish your project, it will also bring some closure... I'm trying to find projects I can use my new tools with, I've just finished setting up a router table inserted into my work bench, and I've got a couple of ideas on how to use for some segmenting work... Yuval
Gorgeous box! A tip for this technique: If you have a saw with a wider kerf, stop before you cut all the way through & simply slide the slice of contrasting wood in. The lines of the celtic knot will always align perfectly when turned doing this (I'd never try to make a celtic knot cutting all the way through again.) Stay healthy my friend. (I haven't forgotten about shooting a video showing how I have my dental drill connected, but had a health scare & haven't done much lately because of it... hope to get to it soon.)
Thank you!! And I know about the not cutting to the end, but like you said, you need to have slices matching the kerf of the saw. I did that in an old video where I used my table saw for the cuts, I didn't cut to the end and made slices similar in width to the saw width. Take your time with the video about your system, I'm not going anywhere, I can wait! :) Yuval
Thanks James!! A rolling pin is something I've still not done... unless I find an interesting twist I can put into one... I'm always trying to something a little different, so anyone could find something new or inspirational in each video. Yuval
Thanks Kerri!! It was nice working on a knot that small, I wasn't sure the effect would come across at that scale, but it worked out just fine :) Yuval
Love the way you recreated the shaving flying around :D It's gorgeous ! I love the colour, the elegant shape and the idea of making simple cuts to end up with such a beautiful piece. That's great ! Good job Yuval :)
Thank you Sylvie!! I always wanted to be in acting, woodworking is just a hobby... ;) No mention on your Sharky being used again??! It's the perfect tool for the job! Yuval
Very nice work! Found the video through a FB group and glad I did. These Celtic knots intrigue me, I just completed 2 pens using a slightly modified method from yours that worked great but I think your method of clamping will work better for larger items (2” and larger). Thanks for sharing!!!
You're welcome Kennett! I'm glad you found me ;) You can see the small piece, the finial, was actually a little distorted, I had a mishap with the last glue up and it slid. But that didn't stop me :) Yuval
@@yuvallahav I'm fired up to have a go with different colour woods... I've done some segmentation wood bowls, but will try some fine cuttings as you've done. 👌

While I have always thought you’re a great turner, Yuval, I didn’t realize that your true gift is in re-enactments! Hilarious, my friend. Oh, the box is nice too! 😂😂😂 Happy turning, .....Gord
Thank you Gord!! I think I will tackle some patterns and segmenting next, I have some multi coloured boards of wood I'm not really using, so might as well experiment with those next. I think reenactments like those are a good compromise for the once in a while technical glitches we all suffer from ;) Yuval

Your re-enactment was done so delicately, so exquisitely, so impeccably timed, and more - Is your day job in the film industry?🤪
LOL Mike! It seems my little reenactment has garnered more comments then the work itself... so now I'm thinking of submitting it to the Emmy's next year!! ;) Yuval
A very pretty bowl. I love the shape and the Celtic knots. The procedures you go through to produce the piece are very good. However the captions disturb the work flow. By the time I have read the caption, their subject is over and something else has started. Also the initial music was distracting so I muted the sound. Then about half way through you started narration. So I lost a lot of that because I muted the audio. My point is: forget captions, voice narration is preferred. I can listen and watch at the same time but I cannot read captions and watch the action at the same time.
Thank you for your input Glyn! As for narration vs. captions, if you read through my comments over time, I have a lot of hard of hearing folk that have asked specifically for captions. I know that reading and viewing is not something everyone is accustomed to, but I think I will work more in the lines of captions while narrating the captions themselves, maybe with a little more information, that way you wouldn't have to concentrate in reading while watching. I'll also make them more viewer friendly. Yuval
