Josh Freese is one of my drumming idols. So humble, but a freaking machine behind the kit. Love him.
This man is one of the greatest drummers out there today, period. If you can rock out with NIN and A Perfect Circle, and then go touring with Sting, to then go smash it with The Offspring, you know you're badass. Go check some of the records he's been in and you'll know what I mean.
I saw him play with The Replacements and he was / is an absolute monster. Just amazing.

Came here after the foos announced he was the new drummer. I'm a drummer and cant say I'd heard of him although I love every band hes played in. Lol wanted to learn more about him, not disappointed at all, seems like a great dude and will carry the torch going forward. Really excited

In other words, it’s still work. “Playing” an instrument is work, not always fun, rarely glamorous and necessary to make a living. This guy is one of the best drummers in the world and, just like all of us, doesn’t love going to work every day. Love the honesty in this interview.
God I wish he'd join a perfect circle again. His drumming with them was so damn good. Such weird but awesome fills.
It's a shame. He was asked to comment on how it ended and he choose to pass. He told the whole story about leaving NIN but wouldn't comment on the ending with PC. That was telling.

@MegaSeth301 Watch part 2 if thus video. Josh states EXACTLY why he doesn't work with A Perfect Circle. It's no different than the reason why he doesn't work with NIN.

I completely agree with his assessment of early vs. late career. When you're young and just starting out in your career, you do anything comes your way. Don't be concerned; your experiences will teach you and help you develop a reputation or resume. I'm aware that my initial yes turned out to be a favored later yes. You will succeed if you remain modest.
Great drummer. Very versatile and musical in his playing. And that, ladies and gentlemen, being musical is a large part of what it’s all about. All of my favourites have that in their playing.
I first heard his work with The Vandals and I have followed his drumming ever since. He’s one of my absolute favorites! I encourage people to see The Vandals House of Blues live show with the drum cam….you’ll see the up close awesomeness of this man!

I used to think I liked Wes Borland's Black Light Burns. But then I realized I only liked the first album. And the first album is the only one Freese played on. And wow- I really liked Sons of the Sea and didn't realize that was him too. I like everything he touches.
The first is the only one good because all the band and producers are all ex NIN members 🤷♂️

Even though he's a sort of a chameleon and has played a plethora of stuff, he's actually one of the few today who has a real personality to his playing. You can almost always tell that it is Josh Freese playing no matter what artist or recording it might be.

Who has he not played with.. wow! A perfect circle my personal all time favorite! His drumming make a perfect circle a perfect circle! It wouldnt be anywhere near as great as it is without him believe that! Him and Maynard is a perfect match.. along with the other originals. Billy, the dude from the smashing pumkins.. lol yes i know his name n the bass player... male 1 n the female 1 is great.. paz.. Josh is the best all around drummer! He can do it all n exstreamly well i might add.

I have always liked Josh Freese' drumming and now hearing him actually being punk in his way of speaking and what he tells, without outing someone, makes me really like him a bit more.
