- Jeremy Vine appeared on Ken Bruce's show for the final time on 3 March 2023, paying tribute to the presenter.
Jeremy Vine is the final long time presenter left on Radio 2's daytime line-up.
Ken kept his dignity intact when he left, which is something the BBC needs to learn. A Gentleman.
I have been a 2 time popmaster contestant and won to boot. I can proudly say that I had a total of 16 mins of his time on the airwaves.. I will treasure that. His calming tone and his proffesionalism is never going to be beaten.
What was a great radio station now is an absolute shambles
Ken Bruce's departure leaves me with absolutely no reason to listen too radio two .
You're not alone.
Tony holds the fort well on Sat mornings for me !
@@ponyboycurtis9345poptabulous !
I done recognise radio 2 anymore ken as gone and steve wright god bless him.
Ken is superb. Always has been and always will be.
I stopped listening to Jeremy Vine a long time ago but thought what he said about Ken was great.
That familiar voice on radio 2 will be sadly missed
"Ten hours a year? ... Somehow, it feels longer."
I fully agreed with Ken on that one!!
No reason to listen to R2 now.
Thank god for Greatest Hits Radio!
GHR in my opinion has slowly become just another commercial radio station playing the same old box of songs. I find myself listening to Radio 2 again now
Swapped from R2 to Greatest Hits when Simon Mayo started drivetime, and was pleased to see Ken arrive too. As for Vine, what an absolutely revolting, sanctimonious bell end.
Helen Thomas if this was a private company you would be sacked. Unless
We have Vernon Kay to look forward.....heaven help us
Friday 3rd March 2023
Jeremy vine on next, time to change channel !
surely Kay wasn't the BEEB's first choice to replace Ken. Surely not. There must have been someone......ANYONE better than him. Dear Oh dear, BBC.....What have you done?
RUDE
Been told that station is still going.
left after steve wright..
Ken brue.
Gòod
The wokey BBC has lost yet another master of his profession, and anothet listener and TV license payer.
After this Jeremy is phony . Thanks Helen 😢
I imagine that Ken would have better things to do than spending it lunching with sanctimonious insincere Vine
Imagine letting a fantastic guy like Ken go. Probably didn't fit the diversity agenda of the bbc.
@Zender Man I beleive they couldn't offer a concrete contract.
@@YARROWS9 Bruce is on record as saying the BBC offered him a new contract but it was a tad delayed but by then he had decided to leave anyway
I liked pop master a lot but I actually prefer Gary Davies
Bye bye auld Ken. At 72 years old, you are being replaced by a younger fresher faced DJ. You are no peter pan. It comes around to everyone. You have had 40 years employment at the BEEB. Good luck on your new enhanced contract at Greatest Hits radio.
Oh sweet jesus 😳
Bitter lemon.
@@curvycaro6314 Ken is not bitter at all. Way past his sell by date and gets a lucrative contract at GHR.
Not him. You, fool.
@@tommcmanamon8327he choose to leave
Used to love these handovers-the seething unbridled contempt each person has for the other was barely disguised.
