Thank you for adding this. I miss him so much and how uplifting his shows were. I will probably listen to this many times just to get my Steve hit. He always made me feel so positive and motivated. Grateful to have this and be able to hear his voice and wonderful energy.

aaah he's not too bad.imagine if there was no radio and no djs at all.some pretty horrific comments.he's played a few good records.you can't change your voice can you?it's amazing how casual fun so often turns into very nasty rhetoric and debates!

Steve Wright always livened up the afternoons, the current controller of Radio 2, has blood on her hands getting rid of him and many popular presenters. The last 15 minutes and closer has me crying.

The feature that Steve did called non stop oldies. I wouldn't have classed any of it as non stop oldies. Kid rock is a really old song is it? Non stop oldies I would have asked listeners for rare songs from the 1940's to 1960's. Steve had a warm friendly voice who is sadly missed. He would have fitted in well carrying all the same features to Boom radio where he could play load more songs and not the same ones like the BBC.

I was listening to this show as I normally did , Steve on his afternoon show and when he made his announcement I was gutted you knew he was being pushed to the side for what ever reason . I remember listening to Steve since 1981 I was 18 I’m 61 now all thru his radio 1 and up until 30 September 2022 his last show on Radio 2. Was lucky enough to see him live on Radio 1 Road Show 1st week in August 1982 Blackpool . His shows made you feel welcome almost as if he was including you what a genuinely nice caring honest and talented person he was. I was gutted to hear of his passing and he left a void in BBC Radio never to be filled he was my Fav DJ of all Time and the years flew past listening to him along with Terry Wogan & Jimmy Young he brightened your days and life up RIP All three of them

Even now after this amount of time it's hard to believe no more Steve Wright, just so so sad. Radio changed when Radio 2 booted him out, when he passed Radio changed forever. Bless you Steve, sleep well my friend.

“Might” change? Really Gold? I think you meant “will” change. They’re implying a sense of hope that regular programs return here after a certain amount of time, when instead a few days later, you hear static. Everyone is forced to change to FM at the least, so the choice of words is quite misleading.

Started listening to Steve 1981 on radio 1 right thru to his final show 30 September 2022 on Radio 2. I was 18 in 1981 and he was my go to Dj to brighten my day and got me thru short spells of unemployment in my youth his show was what I looked forward to in the Afternoon. I was lucky enough to see him on the Radio 1 Roadshow 1982 1st week in August Blackpool and then again October 1983 when Steve . Simon Bates and Fluff Freeman did a radio gig in Stewarton community centre Scotland . There has been a massive void left in Radio Broadcasting on the BBC since his passing, to quote Chris Evans Steve was to Afternoon Radio what Terry Wogan was to the Breakfast Show . I will miss his show every afternoon weekday for ever. Thanks for the music the jingles the sketches the characters most of all Steve thanks for the memories pure Radio Gold. God Bless you Mate
