    I was in the hospital with my mom for a week, I missed sewing. I took my crochet, but that ain't the same. I got to sew for the 1st time today. So happy.

    Good morning. So happy to hear your little guy is doing good. I agree when our grands are ill it cuts straight to the heart.❤ I love my Bernia, but must say "she can be finicky when it comes to types if thread, a little bobbin error. It us frustrating when we can't find the problem quickly. I love fried okra!

    As a rule, when you get a mess underneath, it is a top threading problem. It can sometimes easily be fixed simply by rethreading. If I get fuzz or a small thread struck in my top tension disks, it will cause this problem.

    • @myhobbyhomelife
      @myhobbyhomelife  2 месяца назад

      @BeckyAndersen365 I am thinking that was the culprit because it seems as soon as I rethreaded, the issue stopped.

  • @auntdodo1sews
    @auntdodo1sews 2 месяца назад

    I find the best way to avoid rat nests is to gently hold the threads to the back as you begin to sew or use a leader and ender at the beginning of stiching and the end.. ALSO, make sure your bobbin shuttle is clean and there are no threads caught.

    • @myhobbyhomelife
      @myhobbyhomelife  2 месяца назад

      @auntdodo1sews oh this was more than a small one. This nest would go the full length until the machine would lock up. I think there was just something wrong in the threading.

    • @auntdodo1sews
      @auntdodo1sews 2 месяца назад

      @myhobbyhomelife Yup. I think the thread plays tricks on us. It has its own magical powers to go from a perfect stitch to "let's see if we can drive mommy nuts."

      @myhobbyhomelife  2 месяца назад

      @@auntdodo1sews I agree completely.

    I would rethread your machine and there possibly will be a lot of fluff in your bobbin casing. So you need to take it ALL out and get rid of it. Don't blow into the area...it just pushes it in further. I think you have lots of fluff down in that area. I just cleaned mine out.

    • @myhobbyhomelife
      @myhobbyhomelife  2 месяца назад

      Actually, mine was completely clean. I think it was something awry with the threading because as soon as I rethreaded it seemed to be ok.

    Try retreading your needle feed, that happens to me!

    • @myhobbyhomelife
      @myhobbyhomelife  2 месяца назад

      I did a completed rethreading of everything and I think it was the top thread.

    Ear infections are the worst. And when they are so little they can't tell you where it hurts.

      I know it. I was telling my daughter about a week before that I thought he had an ear infection because he kept pulling on his ear.
