thats actually good numbers. these make 290 to the crank, which means when new it was like 240 wheel max and thats with 93 oct. also dyno seems to be reading about 5-10% low for the hp comparing to other cars ive seen with similar mods (unless you still have catalytic converters, and if so that means you're making great numbers on 91)
So lucky i got 540i 98 next week planning some dyno runs to ser what exacly is under the hood. But currently have dinan intake&dinan muffler and empty catts.
I honestly thought you would be pushing over 300. I’m surprised. After I finish mines I am going to try to run on a dyno to see. If I don’t get at least 330 I’ll be disappointed as well
You need headers and high flow cats as well as raising your rpm limit to 7k ,and yea the numbers he got were really disappointing and strange , by the time im done with mines i should be pushing close to or above 400 at the crank
@@BurninGas8.1 yes I thought it would be over 500 as well. Do you think you should maybe go for a tune that’s specific to your mods and not an off the shelf tune? That driveway reminds me of mine. 😂 I can only dream of a torque curve on my 540i. Well done!
Thanks
Great Video! from Onterrible here got a 98 540/6
Healthy numbers. I don’t think you mentioned, but did you have stock headers on during these runs?
Yes

This is a real number dyno not a mustang my older video of black540 was known to read high... these are still good numbers
Was much more disappointed in the m5 only putting 410 at wheels with tune and mods

What’s the altitude in the area you dynoed the bmw?
Close to sea level

No manifolds are stock
Did you have to do chain guides on 540i
Not yet

I am really reading 257 Bhp ? and torque only 300 ?

In a shop with two fans. Get out on the open road with proper air flow, air exchange. Low end torque don’t lie.
