I loved playing this game years ago. I much preferred the 2D sprite aesthetic, but the game mechanics themselves are still enticing to me. I wish there was a way to play this without the PVP since the real-time aspect of it means you really need to be dedicated, but it's still a very charming and unique experience.
So hard playing this while listening to Nook's playthrough lol, the animals sounds are always !!! Love Haven, cool to see more creators getting into it. Steam release will hopefully help it see even some minor greater exposure success.
Thanks for introducing me to this game! It reminds me vaguely of Wurm Online, but without demanding I pay money in order to access the entirety of the game!!! Wow! Thank you again!
If time-consuming was a game it'd be H&H, I’ve sacrificed my social life, career, and daylight hours. I started this game as a teenager. I’m 40 now and only halfway through.
I actually loved this game and got super invested last world but the griefing and just general hostility towards new people had me put it down. I got tricked to teleport to a kill box (they used the same keyword as a market but the capitalization was off), they killed me even though I was clearly a spruce, and kept my body in a giant corpse mound so I couldn’t get it back. It’s really frustrating.
That's why u be a hermit build a palisade and carry a bow. And stick to travel on rivers or use a horse u find in wild. I've never been pked. Like that I'm usually entirely self sufficient. And spruce caps are what the try hards hunt most dangerous game type stuff
yeah. It’s just unfortunate though since it’s one of the worst beginner-friendly games out there. They were bragging about 1800+ for the new world and I’m like. It could probably be twice that if it wasn’t so inhospitable. Not saying separate no PVP series but some sort of flag system or something would be nice.
I played this years ago but eventually quit because it was pretty much impossible to stop Russian griefers while you slept. Met some cool Estonians I wish I kept in touch with.
Yess! This game is amazing I've been playing since 2017 Haven't had much time but I'm a hermit and everyone still seems to be getting established. Will you be starting a village id love to join or do trade
I got fooled by the earlier review this game is not what it seems to make any substantial progress you have to join village or use bots or both -> this is shitty desing and devs themselfs said that they wont attempt to prevent botting because they think the crafting/progression etc is poorly designed, they just wont ever have time to redesign it or you can just invest time, even stupid farming will take away hours everyday if you dont use bots combat is horrible - no space for experimenting (because of perma death and also because lots of moves are just garbage) the majority of players just use paid botting software or design their own, collect everything automatically and 2 weeks after wipe they got best weapons and armor and just go on noobie killing spree, few months after wipe the world is just dead I do not recommend this game at all, you can try it for free but dont be a fool like me, dont give them any money!
I enjoyed Playing this for a little while after the last time you featured it. There's a lot of interesting depth and complexity to the game that i love. The Crafting Building and leveling systems are all amazing. However the combat system is probably the worst design I've ever seen/ experienced. My impression of it is like if you crammed MMO skills into a a Tekken/Mortal Kombat/etc Combo system (which in theory is kinda a cool idea). But it's all still set-up on the F-keys, which you can-not re-keybind & no controller support. And there is the addition of attack/defense types, which you need to balance/predict while in combat. So you've got this very busy combat UI that moves fast. I can really only imagine piano players who are also used to MMO's with lots of hot-bar skills becoming accustomed to it. Trying to learn it by practicing against harmless animals was still confusing and frankly painful. I'm sure i'll get a bunch of grief from long time players that'll tell me to suck it up and git gud or some shit. I'm sorry but, if i'm gonna play games with PvP, I want the UI to be player friendly. And like it's just this stark difference from the rest of the game, everything but combat in the game is super relaxed and slow. Honestly i'm surprised they'd even put it on Steam.
Imagine playing this haven for bots, hearth for us (7feet deep). Anyone that played this game in-depth knows how theres several clients with all sorts of gimmicks to make the next player miserable. Last time, it was murder boats with 1 player and 10 of his alt clients, a volley of arrows? NO PROBLEM! Can only suggest this game for anyone trying to have a bit of fun and not tryhard.
It's not really that difficult of a game and the perma death isn't that bad because you can inherit your old body. I actually genuinely like slow progress of everything... the problem is that the bulk of the community is AWFUL, and the devs seem to only encourage griefing, player hunting and botting. Bad game by bad devs.
The game looks lovely, but the inventory management is too borked for me to have fun actually playing it. I think that the crafting mechanic should have a reasonably large area around you where things are auto gathered, so you wouldn't need to be standing right next to the stockpile, for example. It would make the game way more fluid, as you would just need the resource in the local area but not actually right to you.
Griefing and kills are pretty out of control. If you read the forums, folks constantly say trust no one and if you buy a hat in the store, don’t be exploring with it on because someone could demand “hat or die.”
Last time I tried playing a group of pkers found my settlement but I logged off in time only to log back on the next day and find out they'd walled my entire settlement in and locked me inside. Game over. No way to break out so just a slow death by starvation awaited. Imagine wasting that much time just to grief someone for playing solo. smh.
@@TheGamermage Thanks for the comment. I love pvp but I hate these kind of unfair games where some loser neet group can prevent you from playing even though they lack skill.
wow graphics are looking different, I remember playing this waaay back in 2011-2012

Nook is noode in the beginning of this video! It's a must see!

It is funny how I started again this game 2 weeks ago and now I see Nook play it too.

After a few days checking it out this feels like if A Tale In The Desert was made from the bones of Ultima Online.

not every player is like that
assuming stuff you do not in fact 100% know, just makes an ass out of you.
last time like 5 years ago???
Be careful i have huge axe

this is like a bait take
I never played it, because I play Salem. Did you play Salem and can compare them?
These are the devs behind Salem right? Which were kinda like this?
Yup. This one is older than Salem though.
@@kellerkind6169 Salem was also sold off and has been run by another company(ies?) for a long long time now.

P v e? Or do other players kill you all the time?
