I applaud these efforts! Buicks rule! I am curious why you didn't use the all aluminum BBB from TA Performance. Well, great job!
I think it was a good Idea, I wasn't sure at first, but showing what goes into an expensive build like that is just as interesting as the finished product.
I was wondering if they took it, it looks like it's worth the wait.
I'm not sold on the Battleship Gray color yet, I hope it has some color to the lines of the body.
Silver with hints of black and purple lines would look cool.
When will it be finished?
And they got short on time, they didn't run out of money.
They could've cut corners a slapped the rest together in time, but why ruin it?
They decided to show it so people can see what goes into the steps of a custom build. I think it looks cool so far and like seeing the process. When its finished they'll be a bunch of people looking at the next Sema.
That’s genius, take an unfinished project and present it as finished. Probably first ones to pull it off
It looks like a huge Corvette Styling ? Can't wait to see the finished product.
I see Buick and I see Monte Carlo, but ther is no corvette here except the back of the car, but that came with it.

I have been watching Carshows for years and this is the first time ever I see a Buick Riviera 1972 boattail in the shop. What makes it extra special for me is that once I owned this car. However it was a custom 1971 lowrider. Is there more footage of this one?
You need to watch fast n loud. This car was an amazing build. A 72 Riviera turned into a supercar

300000 es elel presupuesto completo, como ves el auto aun no esta pronto, aunque entre motor, llantas suspension y toda la mano de obra 100000 se deben haber ido ya

Great question. Was hoping to see it at SEMA 2020 but thats been cancelled so i guess we will have to wait to see.
you're the only person I've seen so far who's taken the time to look at that car. seems like a huge waste of their sponsors time and money. to bad, that car started out as a super clean survivor and now it's... well I'm not even sure what it is. oh well, thanks for sharing.
Lets see what it looks like finished. They had the balls to show up with it like this and the metal work is pretty darn clean.
BUILT DIESEL MAFIA there’s a lot they did that bugs me about the project, like they said it was going to be something never done before, then they LS swap it, put it on an aftermarket frame, and split the front bumper. There was another rivi at SEMA with an aftermarket chassis and an LS swap, and darn near every “Custom” rivi boat tail splits the bumper. The only thing they did that Impressed me was drenching in the rear bumper to the quarters. But then they did the huge cartoon style defuser and cluttered that up. As you said, we will have to see how it looks finished, but my hopes aren’t high here. As a DFW resident, and the owner of a 72 Riviera I took interest in this, but as it goes on I’m more and more thinking it’s just another cookie cutter resto-mod.

It's not finished, why bring it to Sema? Richard should give his team more time to complete builds!

@@tedkukla4178 if you watched the show then you would know that once you sign up for SEMA, you are committed. Nothing about this car is ordinary so be happy you even get to look at it this amazing piece of art.
The back of the car should have been the front of the car, And they could have put a front-wheel drive train in it.

looks like they ran out of time or budget or both. Disappointing at best. Why show it like this? SEMA needs to be more selective. I watch the show and was super excited as I like 71-73 boat-tails. Seen better on the street.

I don't know why they didn't take another Riviera in worse condition custom build the whole body usingnew steel they could have fabricated it anyway they wanted cleaned up the other one and brought the original one to sema then put them both side by side

Thats a great question. With the show ending i wonder if we will ever know.
Sorry but your gaps are far from perfect. The rear quarters and trunk lid is just one area and the metal work around the rear lights needs more detail so if you want to have a winner you need to do some tweaking. Simply constructive criticism. Going to be a great build looking forward to the finished beast.
