That was my favorite thing about TS2. As a kid, I used to run a salon and that was honestly the highlight of my TS2 years. A few days ago, I returned to TS2 for the first time in 20 years..... and words can't describe how happy I am running my little salon 😊 EA are real jerks for never including this feature ever again in the following games.
Charlotte Katie I miss so much. I miss just having a home phone, I hate mobiles. I miss the sleepovers you could have. I miss when my sim would get sunburn or a sun tan. I miss having holiday homes in sims 2. I miss my sims feeling happy because they have moved into a new home. Miss everything!!!
Anyone else knew James was going to forget he locked his doors? Also, the therapist showed up because the kid didn't get into private school so the father sim went into aspiration failure.
Some tips for the next episode: -You can get a job for Nina and hire a nanny. The nanny won’t cost much since the kid will be at school most of the day and she will clean the house and cook dinner -If you want scholarships for college make sure his grades are all A. You just need to do the homework for that. Also getting some skills above level 8 will win you certain scholarships. Creativity is the best option since it makes money too -When their social is very low you can make them call someone on the phone. That way they’ll keep talking until their social is full and make friends with that person on the phone easily -If you buy the elixir of life from the aspiration rewards make sure they are in good mood before using it. Otherwise it will shorten their life -AND BUY A FIRE ALARM IT ONLY COSTS 50

hey james, i have been playing the sims 2 for 10 years and hope that I can give you some helpful tips: -the schmooze points rise kind of equivalently to the relationship points with the headmaster (the top points) and therefore also sink, if you have a bad conversation with them -the priority of the instructions you give your sim is higher than what they automatically do (exceptions being school and work). -sims cancel the tasks they're doing, if their needs are too low, that's why it appears, that they randomly cancel tasks you told them to do. (also the priorities on 'asking for homework help' are a little off, for the sim asking it's high priority, but for the sim being asked, it's low priority, so make sure both involved sims are not doing anything at that time) -send your adult sims on a date, so you can fulfill all the stuff on their wish list, and get to a good aspiration level (with platinum status, it is counted as the best mood, when going to work), but also to get their mood up (improves a lot if the date goes well). also when your aspiration level is below gold, while using an aspiration reward, you might get quite the opposite effect.
did I forget this about the sims 2 or am I imagining things: your sims actually turn around and face you, the player, to complain about their needs. They actually break the fourth wall like that?
I got the full collection on origin last year from a nice support worker. I asked if the CDs would still work today if I buy them. Since I lost the codes He asked if I have the Sims 2 I showed him photos of the CAr I have ( basegame and two expansions) And he then gave me the full collection on origin. I was so surprised and happy.
The psychiatrist was there because his aspiration level was all the way in the red. The aspiration bar is as important as the needs bar. I’m loving this series! Thanks for continuing it. It’s so much fun
Imagine you lock all the doors and give only household members the keys to the doors. And then yell at the guy you invited over for not entering when he can’t open the doors. 😂😂😂
I was so stressed watching James play the sims. In the Sims 2 the sims will not listen if their need is low like they do in Sims 4 lol. Anyway I love these Sims 2 videos!
The house have to be clean, nicely decorated (for the house tour). You need a sim with good cooking skill and make an awesome dinner (ofc invite him to eat). And you have to butter him up as much as you can. Yeah, compliment etc, constantly! Horribly grindy but it works. And if you fail you can bribe him IIRC but it's very expensive.
@@Weasleys93 lol never thought of that one, did it in university though - sleeping with the teachers to get good grades - and it did work but took way too much time because there's several teachers to shag :D
For your next Sim child: you can show up to three rooms, you receive extra points for book shelves and toys as well as decorations. Obviously, the higher the cooking skill, the more impressed the headmaster is going to be. You can also get extra points for serving espresso after dinner or (a bit creepy) getting him to join you in the hot tub. God, I miss the Sims 2, I had forgotten so much and you bring it all back. That game was brilliant!
Sims 2 is my favorite out of sims series... something about it makes me never get bored and want to play more. Can’t say the same for 3 and 4. Even after all these years 🤔
ivenevertriedamacaroon I think it may be because the sims 2 had so much more fun stuff to do on the home lot. The sims 4 really doesn’t. It just has less fun interactions in general. I used to spend hours playing the sims 2 too.
Destinee Cichy I agree with that, the options you get too seem more realistic. Even little things like buying groceries and clothes, ordering food etc make the experience fun. I find when playing the sims 4 I’m often not even on the home lot, I’m somewhere else. So I agree with that too, most of the time if not always I’m in my house on sims 2 quite happily.
Destinee Cichy I honestly think so too, I’ve bought nearly every sims 4 expansion there is, and I haven’t touched it for months. It gets so boring. You hardly get anything with the expansions too. Sims 2 in my opinion has always offered more with the things you get and they just make way more sense? Not saying they don’t put effort and time into it - of course they do, but it seems to me they took more care of their older games. Even 3 is better than 4...
Next time you wanna invite the headmaster, here are a few tips: one sim should have a high cooking skill, while another should have high charisma (for the smoozing), and you should have as much art as possible.
We said goodbye to my darling grandad today, shouting "you locked the doors!" and then giggling along with you once your realised really put a smile on my face at the end of this long, difficult day. Thanks James! x
James playing Sims 4: "Here is a mansion I built." James playing Sims 2: "Broken car in the front of the house. dirty newspapers everywhere, takeout Chinese foods across the living room, our couch was destroyed, our kitchen burnt down, the bathroom is flooding..."
You have to go to a community lot and purchase magazines relavant to what you want to smooze about to become good at it. Congrats on impressing the Headmaster against the odds!
What really? I never did that and i had no problem with schmoozing. You have to feed him first, then hes in a good mood then hes more open to your schmoozing haha. He shows up with really low hunger so hes kinda a grump until you feed him.
No lol in sims 2 cars just disappear of the lot while in sims 3 you can see cars driving all over the town with real people in them feels much more lively
And in roaring heights they brought back the feature of opening car doors and vehicle enthusiasts sims can have a relationship with a car so I don’t think you can say that lol
I love and miss the Sims 2!! Great job of getting into private school. I don’t think I ever tried to get the kids into private school when I played. I just let them stay in public school. Now I just need to find a way to play the Sims 2 again.
Im pretty sure that in the Sims 2, sims are programmed to, when they autonimously (however tf you spell that) sleep, go to the bed with the highest energy level. Because the kids bed was better than the parents that's why you would always find them sleeping there.
OH MY GOD ! This was so difficult to watch I was screaming at my phone like " THE DOOR IS LOCKED " and " THEIR FUN NEEDS TO BE FULL TO DO HOMEWORK " and " YOU NEED AN A TO GET INTO PRIVATE SCHOOL " like christ almighty this was so irritating. But yunno all in all good series
YES OMG!! Same here! I literally felt butterflies in my belly when he said he was going to play with university. I leterally cannot wait for this omg omg omg. I used to make so much storylines in university. I was getting my sims pregnant while they were there and raise the baby there lol.
James, my good sir, this is painful. One does not simply super speed the Sims 2. I'd much rather watch you get into the micromanaging with the care it requires for people to not die. I can't take it anymore, this hurts so much. Edit: okay it's sorta amusing. Oh God he's gonna have the debt collector visit, can't wait
Watching this, it occurs to me that had RUclips and Twitch and better technology existed a decade ago when I was an obsessive Sims 2 player, I might have had a drastically different life path. 😂 IN MY DAY, WE HAD TO DO SCREEN CAPS AND WRITTEN BLOGS TO SHOW OUR STORIES. #ancient
I couldn't stop laughing when the headmaster couldn't get into the house wondering how long it would take you to realize the doors were locked LOL! That was the best part of this video...can't wait until the next one! :D
You just go for the life aspiration, that gives you platinum mood for all the time plus a ton of points to get the elixir. Drink it every 3 days and you're at the same age forever. No worries about the life span.
James, there is something about the way you do your LP, that is unique and totally hilarious. The Sims 2 is absolutely my favorite. I think it's because of the random events inherent in the game. I really miss that in the Sims 4. Please do more LP with the Sims 2.
watching this just makes me mad because I want all these little details like getting in the car to go to work/the school bus, picking to sleep in PJ's or underwear etc. ;(

That is very on point. They’re definitely catering to the people who voted to pay for a whole pack dedicated to washing machines.
Uhhh sims 3 has a lot of fun stuff to do even in the base game I played that game for 3 hours straight lol
Next time you wanna invite the headmaster, here are a few tips: one sim should have a high cooking skill, while another should have high charisma (for the smoozing), and you should have as much art as possible.
20:30 Really bro, you locked the doors of the house only for the family,
"Why doesn't he come eat" LOL!!
YOU HAVE LEFTOVERS SINCE THE MIDDLE OF THE LAST PART JAMES! You keep saying you don’t have food xD
I was waiting for that take-out food to go off, because can't you put the leftovers into the fridge?
@@amandaburn9089 ? you can put food you cooked yourself in the fridge, but not birthday cakes, pizza and stuff like that
@@java_finch That's definitely good to know. Guess take out is best reserved when everyone's going to eat it immediately or for parties.
@@java_finch you can put takeout food in your sims inventory is what I do
Hope you continue doing these Sims 2 vids. Or even a LP. Love this game!
James: WHY AREN'T YOU COMING IN
Me: My dear Semaj,
Also, they're not saluting, they're covering their eyes from the sun. I hated that gesture.
There's a mod for it, much needed since they keep doing it even if they're carrying something and impale their heads ^^
We said goodbye to my darling grandad today, shouting "you locked the doors!" and then giggling along with you once your realised really put a smile on my face at the end of this long, difficult day. Thanks James! x
Sims 2 is chaotic 😂 I died of laughter at the awkward handshake with the headmaster and Semaj's comment
James playing Sims 4: "Here is a mansion I built."
James playing Sims 2: "Broken car in the front of the house. dirty newspapers everywhere, takeout Chinese foods across the living room, our couch was destroyed, our kitchen burnt down, the bathroom is flooding..."
You have to go to a community lot and purchase magazines relavant to what you want to smooze about to become good at it. Congrats on impressing the Headmaster against the odds!
I had the same problem when I used to play ts2... after all these years now I know 😂😂
What really? I never did that and i had no problem with schmoozing. You have to feed him first, then hes in a good mood then hes more open to your schmoozing haha. He shows up with really low hunger so hes kinda a grump until you feed him.
Cars in TS2 are so much better than in TS3... and now in TS4 we have no cars! >_
Thanks for playing sims 2. I love this game and I'm happy more simmers started playing it 💞
The sims 2 was my favorite. I wish we could remake it with the polish of the sims 4, but keep the content from ts2 and ts3.
There people out that have painstakingly redone every texture on the Sims 2 to be more modern.
I'm crying. The anticipation for James to realize what's going on with the principle was the best part.
BRO you are the only sims youtuber i can watch without instantly getting annoyed 💎🔥
I love and miss the Sims 2!! Great job of getting into private school. I don’t think I ever tried to get the kids into private school when I played. I just let them stay in public school. Now I just need to find a way to play the Sims 2 again.
Love this game so much! Makes me wanna reinstall and play again! Thanks for sharing James!
Im pretty sure that in the Sims 2, sims are programmed to, when they autonimously (however tf you spell that) sleep, go to the bed with the highest energy level. Because the kids bed was better than the parents that's why you would always find them sleeping there.
BILLS pay your BILLS. The red ones by the sidewalk
I had a poor af family... well it was Brandi Broke lol but she was so bomb at cooking that she managed to get all her kids into private school
So happy you're doing a let's play on the Sims 2 ! Thank you for the nostalgia man 👌
Please continue these man, I don't know how many times I have watched your apartment life play through with Stacey Stencil lol.
Watching these videos makes me want to play Sims 2 again 😂
Such an iconic game
I even miss the action sound effects 😂
I'm excited to see you play university! That was my favourite thing to play when I was a kid :P
YES OMG!! Same here! I literally felt butterflies in my belly when he said he was going to play with university. I leterally cannot wait for this omg omg omg. I used to make so much storylines in university. I was getting my sims pregnant while they were there and raise the baby there lol.
@????? You couldn't but I used cheats 😂😂
James: *lockes door*
Also James: "He won't go into my house! I think I broke him"
James getting angry at the Sims 2 for 36 minutes straight
I feel like the overall base game detail on sims 2 is better than sims 4 now
James: I'm not made of money.
Also James: *chooses more expensive mirror that has less environment* 🙃
James, my good sir, this is painful. One does not simply super speed the Sims 2. I'd much rather watch you get into the micromanaging with the care it requires for people to not die. I can't take it anymore, this hurts so much.
Edit: okay it's sorta amusing.
Oh God he's gonna have the debt collector visit, can't wait
Love this series. Miss the sims 2 so much! Thank you for this ❤️
Oh I'm in my nightie...why am I saluting him?! 😂
He plays sims 2 with constant fast forward too lol ^.^
This makes me so nostalgic and I really want to play Sims 2 again now
Why not just have your Sims rob a convenience store, Semaj? EXPOSED.
enjoyed this so so so so much, you're friggin hilarious! (still playing sims 2, hated the other versions)
Someone should try to do super sim challange in Sims 2
It would be more difficult with the life spans, and how the life juice tank barely extends it.
Rena Ami Akai ah :( but it would be cool
@@renaxakai3 barely extends it? one drink gives you 3 more days and you can drink 5 times from one tank, I'd say 15 days is not bad at all
You just go for the life aspiration, that gives you platinum mood for all the time plus a ton of points to get the elixir. Drink it every 3 days and you're at the same age forever. No worries about the life span.
@@deniz_dee yup, I have done it in sims 2 and that's exactly how I went about it. I had a super sim legacy family, it was a bit absurd.
James, there is something about the way you do your LP, that is unique and totally hilarious. The Sims 2 is absolutely my favorite. I think it's because of the random events inherent in the game. I really miss that in the Sims 4. Please do more LP with the Sims 2.
Sims 2 was just awesome it had more entertainment for the whole family like fixing a rusty car 😂
Maaaaaaaaaan, I'd love the entirety of Sims 2 remade in the Sims 4 engine - IMAGINEEEEEEEEEEE
watching this just makes me mad because I want all these little details like getting in the car to go to work/the school bus, picking to sleep in PJ's or underwear etc. ;(
Sims 2 was honestly my favourite and man the feels. This makes me want to replay without cheats so bad XD
You are blessings me with these Sims 2 videos omg
You make this look like so much fun that I'm about to re download the entire series! Thanks so much James!
Yaass! Love seeing the sims 2 again!
When your happiness falls down to the end (in the complete red) at therapist will show up :) Love the sims 2! Hope you will keep playing!
they are not saluting James, The sun is in there face James!!!! ITS THE SUN!!!!!
im loving this series so far!!!!! so excited for upcoming videos. love you james!
It kills me that he's paying to change the colour when he could just hover over the thingie and change colour before buying it. 🤦🏾♀️
This made me feel all the nostalgia so I had a little play on Sims 2 today 😁
I'd forgotten how labour intensive it was...so many breakdowns!
