My Father-in-law is from 🇬🇾 GUYANA and makes a version of this every day. He is 70+ years old and is as healthy as a fiddle! I’ve eaten/drank this a few times and I wasn’t hungry for about 6 hours afterwards. He doesn’t use the seeds, nuts or dates. He uses banana, regular milk and oats and whips it up in the blender and heats it on the stove. He’s the Best Dad! 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕

Made this with almond milk instead of water. Also skipped the dates, as it is sweet enough with just the banana. Turns out really tasty with the fresh peanuts blended together. Thanks for sharing this healthy recipe.

I was having digestive issues and found this recipe. Not only is it flavorful and gives me energy to start off my morning, I also pooped stuff out from back in my teenage days. Right when I thought I was done pooping, that's when the s**t got real. After spending an hour and a half of the throne and praying to God to grant my butthole mercy, the relief finally came as one last peanut dropped out.
I felt amazing. Thanks for the great recipe.

Taste great. Thank you very much. I used protein powder for protein due to peanut issue, also I added ice in the blending.
Update-12.16.21, just want to add that by adding plant base vanilla protein powder my energy level lasted 6hours before hungry again. I forgot to mantion I used water & coconut milk.

I did soak the oats, as I normally do not, along with the chia and flax seeds and the protein powder that I always add. It helped to make it very thick and smooth. I also did not see the need to drain and rinse the oats. The addition of the cinnamon was a very nice touch. Delicious!! Thanks from the island of Maui. :)

    Replace banana with apple.
Also you can replace raw peanuts with peanut butter.
You can add 5 6 almonds to it.
You can also add a scoop of your whey protein powder.

Great smoothie. Peanut butter also works in place of the peanuts and I use ground flax meal because it's what I have on hand. So glad that I have started keeping dates on hand and frozen bananas work for me. Thank you for a healthy delicious (cholesterol lowering) smoothie!

I would be more concern with triglycerides than total cholesterol. Eating high carbohydrate food tends to make you obese and increase your plasma triglycerides along side your blood glucose key markers for cardiovascular disease.

If making this recipe for a loved one who has peanut allergies, try using sunflower seeds instead. (For people who wish they could eat peanut butter, try sunflower [seeds] butter, taste almost as good)

Phytates are also in the peanuts and chia seeds and flax seeds, so if you are that concerned about it, you should be soaking all of those ingredients.

Probably, but manageable amounts. In this video, Oats in particular will give some people like me gas issues. Same applies to dry beans. An over night soaking does 'magic'.

Great set of recipes!!! I'll be trying them all. FWIW, if you are using a Nutribullet, add the ingredients in this order:
    ► Step 1 - Veggies (1 cup)
    ► Step 2 - Fruits (1.5 cups)
    ► Step 3 - Thickener (optional, 1-2 tbsp)
    ► Step 4 - Boosters (flavour + nutrition)
    ► Step 5 - Liquid (1 cup or 250 ml)
The cup will be inserted into the blender upside down, thus a different order.

Interesting. Can you substitute walnuts for the peanuts? And usually when I have oats for breakfast, I cook up 1/2 cup oats with 1 cup water. Here you are only using 3 Tbsp, that's less than 1/4 cup. Doesn't seem like much fiber with so little oats. But the recipe definitely looks YUMMY! I will be trying it for sure.
