BROOOO this is my favorite west coast album of all time, i'm sooo happy to get a reaction from you. this is another reaction to watch while washing my ashy feet😤😤😤
Wearing Red was definitely intentional. He grew up in a Blood hood. Having all the sets on stage at one time is like having all the heads of state from both sides of World War II on stage after the war. A peace summit of sorts. Nearly 60yrs in the making.
you know, while it is outside of the rap sphere, this entire description reminds me of Bob Marley's 78 One Love concert, where in the middle of the performance he called out the name of two politicians on the crowd, which were both supported by rival gangs in a time of political turmoil, and had them shaking hands on stage together stuff of legends, you know?
You’re absolutely correct. The music is about the people, the pain and the history. Drake doesn’t understand the gravity of that. I’m glad you took time to learn & understand it’s much more than radio or record sales. *Hip Hop is our voice*
great reaction man, awesome things being said, I wish we could see your reaction to the entire show, because you've only seen the ending, but the whole thing is an amazing representation of what is the West Coast
i like when you talk about stuff you don’t necessarily have enough knowledge about to have “good input”. you’re aware of that fact, so it does give a pretty unique perspective IMO
1:32 most of them are artists either from different sets and gangs or are affiliated in some way. Whole lotta good ass artists too, that get slept on by most people which is a shame.
I've really been looking forward to this one. In my opinion, Makaveli is close to a perfect album. It's artful, it's dark, it's masterful, and nothing else like it exists. No skips.
Thank you Bob for the thoughts, your channel has been inspirational because I love hip hop but ive never been able to articulate my thoughts about it this well, a lot to learn
long time viewer first time commenting just to say i hope you take the time to enjoy pacs earlier albums 2pacalypse on as it really informs the evolution of his thinking and what he was actually trying to say
The irony is that this is 2Pac's most angry and dark album. Half of the songs sound like those vent mails you write but don't send out, which makes this feel weird as a pusthomous album released only 2 months after his death.
People so worried about what he wearing. Dude had no background track rapping for a hour and a half straight and yall worried about a hoodie lol. Changing lyrics and everything
Great insight I agree, Kendrick has been struggling as an artist with a message I'm sure he hates that he can't reach everyone but he's definitely made significant impacts in his own community
What a well thought out reaction. For someone who started listening to hip-hop recently, you really do "get it." Even better than some of these oldheads. 😅
0:43 And this is why I love you and this channel so much. You understand that you don’t feel the need to give your input on things you don’t have a firm grasp on *yet* and allow those who do to have their shine.
He is! I think this is a clip from the intro to his yet-to-be-released Makaveli reaction :) either that or he said this in the intro, and clipped it out and won’t include it there, but either way, he’s saying this right before he films his reaction to Makaveli
As a GEN X Tupac fan, the part with Kendrick rapping “ Not Like Us” was spooky. There was a vibe. This was more than just Drake .Yes Kendrick wore red for his hood but Tupac spirit was in that moment/ red hoodie. That red hoodie had me in an all types of feeling traces. I wasn’t paying attention to this Kendrick vs Drake beef until that concert.
You might want to watch the entire concert. It’ll make things more digestible. It gave a huge spotlight to West Coast artists. The night had more to do with revitalizing west coast hip hop than Drake. You’ll remain lost without seeing the full show.
Kendrick did what usually happens with the Black preachers during a sermon. Preachers will off slow but take their sermons to a crescendo. That was what Kendrick did when he said I send up to Puc.
Man this was not only uniting gangs for a nite. watch the whole concert. nobody in Hip hop history has ever done this before, nobody else could. This is Kendrick’s hall of fame move. no fucking question. The artists he gathered here, were incredibly famous artists themselves and he brought them all together. The gangs will fight each other tomorrow again but the artists felt a moment of unity of the west coast that will be hard to forget
4:17 no bob you wouldn’t be considered a culture vulture. It’s not drake rapping that makes him a culture vulture but he fact that he’s playing a role (as you already know).
Y’all just make this stuff up I swear. He came in the game hated cause he was being himself lol Now since he grew bitter cause of all that hate, he’s playing a role
@@DesignzRUs nah he’s playing a role all the xxx sneak dissing and the fake gangster bars about having someone around him catch a body like that and having chubz do this and that, ctfu if you think he’s not faking you need your head checked. Just look at the fake accents he puts on. Don’t get me wrong I like his music but he’s definitely one of those people who has to change themselves to fit in.
The Drake hatred is insane, never have I seen so much bandwagon jumping in all my life. Also one successful black man getting a bunch of other successful black men together to public hate on another successful black man on a national/international playeform on Juneteeth doesnt seem great to me whether there were folks up there from different gangs or not. But if yall Want to gas it, go ahead
That will do nothing for gang culture lol. Snoop been united bloods/Crips, The Game did before and other artists. It was just a west coast moment and thats cool. But it's not that deep
You can't say its not that deep when gang crime went WAAAAY down after Snoop did that. Now we can dig in and try to figure out why that didn't hold and things went back to normal after a while, but to say this is no that deep is wildly ignorant. Anytime you can get opposing people to recognize the other side as human, showing respect and sharing a moment together, you are planting a seed. Will that seed take hold for every person that was on that stage? Maybe, maybe not. There are so many variables that go into all it that I would ramble off a novel listing them. They all clearly respect Kendrick We have NO idea what they all have been doing or planning behind the scenes. I have a feeling this whole gang unification is going to go deeper than just this concert. I feel like they cooking something up, but only time will tell. We aren't apart of it, we have NO idea how deep this goes or if there is a bigger plan. We have NO idea or any way of telling how this will affect things in the future, but to say its not that deep is just ignorantly dishonest. And I could truly get into a more nuanced discussion how this is way bigger than what Snoop did, but at this current moment I am not trying to bring negativity or try to belittle what Snoop has done.
tupac is smiling ear to ear rn in cuba
Fly high Tupac 🕊️
Was not expecting to open a bob video and stumble upon a vlairity comment outside of shawns chat lol its a small world
A lot of y’all won’t realize how legendary this was unless u know everybody that was up on that stage and in the crowd. THE WESTCOAST IS UP RN😤🔥
Working on RUclips edits for this reaction now, but I wanted to splice this portion off into its own video (2 birds, one stone kinda thing)

stuff of legends, you know?
When he opened with euphoria and changed the lyrics to “give me Tupac’s ring back and I might show you a little respect!”
1994 Source Award was when Tupac wore the red sweatshirt with white trim and Cross necklace.
Been watching you for about a year & honestly I wouldn’t have minded a 10-15 vid on your thoughts about the show, you’re one of the few that get it
I've been waiting for this album reaction

Even the chain was the same as tupac's chain. And we know kendrick never wears chains. Definitely a callback outfit.
Exactly that was the key. Crooked I said Kendrick doesn't really flaunt wealth so it had to been for a purpose.
kendrick always has a very small thin gold chain but keeps it tucked under his shirt
Great take Bob, there are some real culture vultures out there but it's crazy to me that someone would say that about you
You get it. Great job Bob.
Hey Bob I Know that you are not a big fan of Nas
But I recommend that you react to King's Disease 1

Juneteeth Bob not June 19th there's a big difference
