    - Jordan Houston and Paul Beauregard are Juicy J and DJ Paul from Three 6 Mafia

  • @Capo4sgn
    @Capo4sgn 2 месяца назад +43

Before Kendrick ever utters a word there’s a quintuple entendre:
    1. Euphoria- the definition
    2. Euphoria the show Drake is a producer on. It focuses on high school kids in adult situations especially s3x and mind altering substances.
    3. April 30 is National Honesty Day
    4. The second line of the definition predicts how the beef will go. “They had almost a week to recover from the euphoria of Tuesday’s series winning victory.” (So many Drake fans were excited, dare I say euphoric, that Kendrick responded and were quick to call this mid. Then in less than a week K Dot pulled the rug out .)
    5. The backwards quote “Everything they say about me is true (I’m a phony)” is the whole line from the Wiz when the Wiz is exposed. Richard Pryor as the Wiz a cultural touchstone for those of us who grew up in the 80’s.
    6. In case anyone disputes one of the earlier ones listed… The track is Teddy Pendergast “You’re My Latest and Greatest Inspiration.” Meaning Kendrick dissing Drake is the inspiration for showing up and showing out.
And yes MJ had a pet mouse named Ben, and was also a the title song of his 2nd studio album.

They created a sound called Philadelphia Sound or Philly Soul in the 70s. Kendrick also credited the producer of the song as well. They didn't write his lyrics but they did contribute to the song.

I absolutely agree. I love Not Like Us, but Euphoria is a stone-cold psychological dismantling of Aubrey Graham, bar by bar, zero filler or drag despite being over 6 mins long.
I also love Kendrick's adlibs - so simple yet so effectively done. It really shows how he takes the time to ensure every single aspect of the track is packed with meaning and impact, from his lyrics to his flows to his vocal intonation. The beat and switches are also extremely effective, and the changes in mood from calm to aggressive to cold-blooded to mocking are just incredible.

Intro response: I totally feel you about Eurohoria. However, the fact that people keep calling his proven child attraction rumors only proves the fact that people are zoned out and this country doesn't give AF about children. Those are NOT allegations. Where do people think these videos are coming from? Drake's actions and his "whipped and chained like American slaves" lyrics have been overlooked for far too long and Kendrick just showed us that he's tired of that corny actor getting away with cosplaying BLACK AMERICAN HIP-HOP CULTURE!

Culturally, When someone says what is it the braids it’s like picking at a person. You got shit confused cause your braids are to tight. Hence the tonality and expression on what is the braids. Hurt yo feelings…. He’s mocking him

I love how all of Kendrick’s diss tracks are elite to the point any can be the best, I think it’s comes down to stylistic preference, ‘euphoria’ was an all-you-can-eat diss, it had a bit of everything, the sheer versatility of the bars distributed by the three beats was a masterclass, and ‘6:16’ in LA was a whole diss in the style of drake, beating him with his own game, the first part doesn’t even sound like a diss because that’s how drake does it, warning him and than ‘meet the grahams’ was the cannibalistic horror track of Drake’s whole family being dissected on a eerie, haunted and scary instrumental, and to balance out all the heavy themes discussed, ‘not like us’ was the club anthem to demonstrate how kendrick can do what drake does, even better, as the numbers speak for themselves, but it’s also the thematic end of the entire beef, as Kendrick began with a feature on ‘like that’ demonstrating how/why Drake is not ‘like us’ part of our culture, all of these songs could be considered the best diss, because all of them are so good, for different reasons.

  • @rosagonzalez4739

Modulations of his voice alone were so fire!! (and then of course the lyricism, the psychology, the beat switches, the way it grows in intensity over the course of the song, the layers that keep peeling back the more you listen to it, the role it plays in the arc of songs overall -- outlining and foreshadowing everything he was about to unleash). Damn.

I see a lot of people who don't listen to J.Cole miss the primary meaning of the "I got a Benjamin and a Jackson all in my house like I'm Joe ok" bar...
Remember the context of Euphoria is J. Cole dropped 7 minute drill dissing Kendrick then Drake did Pushups and Taylor Made where Drake asked for a quintuple entendre -something he don't even understand.
Kendrick starts by saying "I ain't worried about no reaper, n***a I'm reaping what I sow ok." -this is a reference to J.Cole sneak dissing him on his verse on Johnny P's Caddy where Cole says 'you'll feel the wrath of the reaper'...
So the next bar he addresses his two sons, J.Cole and Drake saying: "I got a Benjamin and a Jackson all in my house like I'm Joe ok!"
It's a legit quadruple entendre (also Drake didn't understand it) at minimum, here are the meanings:
    1. Benjamin Button (J. Cole -see his verse from Crocodile Tears saying he's Benjamin Button getting younger as the hours pass) and Michael Jackson (Drake claimed this on First Person Shooter) -Kendrick is their father (Joe) and they are in his house (hip hop)
    2. Ben the pet rat and MJ in Joe Jackson's house (who was abusive to MJ)
    3. Benjamin Franklin and Andrew Jackson in the White House where Joe Biden lives (the paintings of the former presidents in the White House)
    4. US currency $100 Bill (Benjamin Franklin) and $20 (Andrew Jackson) -obvious bar saying he's got stacks

I made it as far as 7:23 mark of #3 before some Drake glazing started annoying me. There's a huge difference with credit on Dot's songs - the people credited on Dot's records are contributing music NOT lyrics. Unlike Drake who's co-opting people's music, lyrics, and flow and putting his name on the credits to make people think he wrote the song- Dot (as do most rappers) credits the writers of the beats and other music he's sampling. The two things are NOT the same. People need to stop making excuses for Drake - including the idiots who work with him and let him steal their work.

a few things you didn’t understand goku fully
    1. when said “ you thought the money the power the same would make you go away” means the money can’t change the person you are and you can’t escape you at the end of the day
    2. Drake is a common nickname for drako
    3. Michael jackson had a pet rat he wrote a song for named ben so when he says “ i got a benjamin and a jackson in my house like i’m joe” it’s because joe caught mike playing with ben and killed the rat
    4. “what is it the braids” is a double entendre for both his and drake braids… his because it’s like “ you don’t want to work me because my braids” but also “ bro are your braids too tight you’re trippin”
    5. You missed where he says “i love pharrell for him i’ll inherit the beef” so when he says “ fuck all that pushin p (pharrell) i want to see you pusha t ( guy who worked for pharrell)
other then that you are on point

dude, Im so glad you did a breakdown on these bars. Ive been trying to crack the code since it dropped, and you just cleared and confirmed a lot for me.
I DO have two more for your list, if your interested:
"I didnt point down enough today. Ill show you I learned from those mistakes" could also be Kendrick calling out Drakes cluelessness about the Control shot, then insults his intelligence by speaking in very simple, direct sentences so even a dummy couldnt possibly miss it this time.
"Dont speak on the family, Crodie." (quit talking about gangster shit.) "It can get deep in the family, crodie.' (you keep shining a light on us, and someone other than me might add you to a list) "talk about me and my family, Crodie? Someone gon' bleed from your family, crodie." (they gonna change your family roll call if you disrespect us any further.)
Here is where it gets crazier for me... New Ho King is a Toronto downtown restaurant... Kendrick is saying "you and the lives of your loved ones can be snatched at anytime, anywhere on the coast (and elsewhere). Meanwhile, I can eat a nice, public meal a few blocks from your house without fear because no one is runnin' up on me... for you."

One line that was a sleeper to me “tell em run to America to imitate heritage, they can’t imitate this violence.” Then Drake really tried to clown KDot as someone who ain’t really affiliated.
