KC Flex ERA 4 Combo LED Off Road Light System Installed on our Jeep JT Gladiator

- It took the better part of a year for Cindy and I to finally get our hands on a set of KC Flex ERA 4 LED lights but I'm really glad that we waited because these things, are awesome! In fact, I wish we could have gotten 2 pairs, one in a combo beam and one in a spot but unfortunately, we were only able to get the combos. In any case, this video will show you just how easy they were to install on the EVO Quarter Pounder front bumper that we have on our Jeep JT Gladiator and have it wired up to our Switch Pros Switch System. Essentially, the same thing as connecting it to the factory auxiliary switch system.

You all definitely have the best and most unique editing of all the off-road channels I watch.
We're truly flattered to hear you say as much. Thank you.
Agree 100%. My friend is starting a channel for his 4rubner and I was like “watch wayalife”.
Amen 🙏 Eddie & Cindy are awesome 😎
By far the best editing in the offroad community and even among the YT community at large. Love WaL videos.
@@sean7899 Thank you so much for that. We're truly flattered and appreciate it 😊
Finally! A simple straight forward install video if these these! I’ve held back installing as other limited videos out there make it seem so complicated! I’ve literally saved thousand on paying a shop to install so many components on my Jeep because of you and being able to be self sufficient! Much thanks!!!
So happy to hear that this video and other videos of ours have been helpful to you. 👍
Who needs those stinkin instructions when we have Eddie. Another great instructional video. I started using and selling KC lights back in the 70”s, thanks Mr. Peter Kim Brown, a great company that backs their product. Thanks KC HiLiTES Inc. , Eddie and Cindy.
LOL - glad you enjoy our videos :)
Got my KC Flex ERA 4 Combo early for Christmas. Got everything installed in under an hour thanks to your GREAT video. Thanks Eddie
Glad it helped
I admit I was a bit skeptical when you said you needed something in addition to the massive amount of lights you already had. But wow, there's no arguing with those results at the end. Impressive output for two such small lights!
Glad we could share this with you 😎
I love your thorough edits and how-to videos! I wish many others did this as well as you do.
Thank you, we really do appreciate it.
Man i ordered these about a week ago and im just sitting here waiting on them like a kid on the night before christmas 😂😂
And after seeing this video i can definitely say im more proud of my upcoming purchase........that im still waiting for as mentioned above lol
I feel your pain! Took long enough to get ours that I almost bought something else. But, I think you'll find that it really is worth the wait. 👍
So from what I’m seeing, just installing the two lights you just hooked up would do everything I would need. Thanks, you just saved me over a 1000 bucks on the light bar. Your videos are the best on RUclips by the way.
Thank you. Truly flattered to hear you say as much. And yes, I personally would be happy with just these.
Lol same!
Ya, but then you don't get cool lightbars on your jeep :p
excellent video. My favorite part was when you showed how they added to your setup near the end. They made a lot more difference than I expected out of them.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for another great how to video. Those really brighten things up. Look great on the rig also. Nice to see Ripley throwback clips!
Awesome! Glad you liked the video and seeing some old Ripley clips :)
Well….the wait for the video was well worth it! Y’all outdo yourselves every video with the edit. I’ll just go ahead and say it again, another “GEM” 🔥🔥🔥, thanks for sharing. Oh…and the lights, well let’s just say “dang” 💯🇺🇸
Thank you. We're sincerely happy to hear you enjoy watching our videos.
Love the Era4s - just ordered some for my JL Rubicon. Thank you for the detailed ‘how-to’ and your Gladiator is sa-weeeet!!🤙
Glad to help!
Thanks again for the great how to video, I ended up buying these lights and installing them myself, I love them, they really are all you need!
Awesome! So happy to hear our video helped you out and yes, they really are all that you need.
Wow I couldn’t imagine you needing more lights but those new combs make a huge difference. Great video guys.
Crazy, right! You really have to see it to believe just how well they fill in the gaps. Heck, I could run just these new lights alone and be happy. Hope you're doing well my friend.
@@wayalife we are doing fine. Thx for asking.
Great light set-up and always good to see Ripley! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like what you see and Ripley too :)
Daaayum! Smokin rig! Just bought a Gladiator last month. I've had a few wranglers, 2 and 4 door since 97, plus driving them in the military in the 70s! Now to start the mods. Man your rig looks great!
Thank you and congratulations to you on your new Gladiator :)
Awesome product!!! I'm a KC fanboy. I got to say your editing skills are on fire!!! Definitely love the unboxing videos!!! Your box opening style makes it fun and exciting.
LOL - awesome. We're so glad to hear you enjoy our videos 😁
Thank you for another quality instructional video and of course that wonderful puppy flashback. I always look forward to your uploads. 👍
Awesome! So happy to hear you enjoyed the video 😎
@@wayalife all ways. Can't wait for the next one.
Tremendous and a phenomenal product that you installed. It gives your Gladiator a unique toughness appearance. 😇😎🤙👍👍👍🤜🤛🙌
Glad you like it!
It was awesome meeting you and your wife at Jeep Bash yesterday !!! I was so thrilled to tell you about my manual everything Base 2 door !!!! Cant wait to see more content on pippi
Hey my friend! It's was a real pleasure meeting you at Jeep Bash and we were super happy to hear you got yourself a base 2-door. Hope that we can hit the trails with you some time. 👍
Awesome off road lights and good looking as well. Another great video Eddie and many thanks for sharing. I love Ripley 😍😍😍😍
Thanks! The lights are way more impressive than I was thinking they'd be. Always happy to hear you enjoy seeing Ripley too 😎
Those are some amazing lights. I really like how you showed putting the wiring together for the lights
Awesome! Glad to hear our video was helpful to you.
Just got my gladiator and it wants to grow up and be like yours. Great video, I’ll have to add these lights to the list. Love your channel and the pup and the end was great!
Awesome and thank you 😎
Living vicariously through you, one video at a time.
LOL - hope you're enjoying the ride 😎
This is awesome, thanks for the ideas as far as wiring options, it helps a lot!!
Happy to hear our video was helpful to you :)
They really help fill out the light output right in front of the bumper on the Jeep. Looks great
They really do and thanks!
The best channel out there.Only problem is you want to see more...The rigs are insane!
Thank you, we're happy to hear you say as much. :)
Look so good! Might need to pick up a pair for our rig, thanks for sharing 🤙🤙
Glad we could share this with you 😎
Took me 4 months, finally put them on my Power Wagon. Great lights.
The wait is a bummer for sure but glad that you got yours and are happy with them.
Thanks for the video, when you mount your stuff, everything looks so easy 🤪. Thanks for the clear explanation and super video. Best regards from the Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸🥇✌️👍👌💪😍
Glad it was helpful! 😎
I love the way you talk. Very clear. 👍
Thank you! 😃
Best looking Jeep Gladiator of the Year!!! I hope to run into you one day on the trail and meet you brotha🤙🏽🤙🏽
LOL - thank you and that would be awesome 😎
Your my hero, love your video and confidence in what your doing helps me tremendously
Awesome, so glad to hear you like our videos :)
This video helped sell the lights, ordered a set for my 1980 International Scout LS build!
Awesome! Glad we could be of help :)
Great video! I’ve been on the fence trying to decide which lights should go on my 392…PIAA, Hella or KC. You’ve convinced to go with KC. Much appreciated my friend!
Glad we could be of help with our video :)
Wow! Just added the ERA 4 Lights to the wish list. Great stuff.
Awesome! Glad to hear our video was helpful to you :)
Bummer. "Don't know when or if this product will be back in stock"
Ah. Never mind. KC states they will be available in Oct and can be reserved.
Those lights are amazing! Your definitely right, you could by with just those! Wow!
Honestly, I was genuinely surprised at how well these lights work. They almost make our light bar unnecessary to have.
@@wayalife yeah for sure! Just place another pair of those up on the A-pillar and your set! Happy wheeling!
Love the lights!
I think lil red is getting jealous.
Please keep building her!
LOL - we got more videos of her coming. We just needed to spread the love around.
Great as always! Love the puppy!!!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great video! Amazing output out of that pair.
Thank you and yes, we are very impressed with what we see 😎
Hey. Something that I've done in the past if there are concerns for moisture being able to sneak in past some kind of heatshrink-capable thing is to put an excessive dab of hot glue in, then use a hot air heatgun to shrink the heatshrink around the hotglue and connector before the glue has fully cooled. Excess glue will ooze out as the glue heats back up again, but it'll form a nice, almost potted lump.
Obviously exercise judgment on stuff in the engine bay, don't use something with too low a melting point.
Now that's how you light up a Jeep. Very cool
Thank you :)
Best channel on RUclips!!
Thank you. We're truly flattered that you would say as much 😎
Agreed!! Best 4x4, off road, jeep channel on yt!
@@00ninja00 Thank you so much 😎
Awesome ligths. Awesome vídeo
Glad you like them!
Such a cool setup!
Thank you :)
Always helpful! Thanks! I am thinking about doing the add a circuit to the parking lights on my JL so they have the amber glow when the parking lights are on. You know... for looks lol.
Glad to hear you found the video to be helpful AND, I almost did that too. On the passenger side of your Jeep, it's the white wire with brown tracer that you want for that.
That’s awesome! Definitely need to get some of those
Glad we could share this with you :)
great install vid! Thank You!!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great installation
Awesome, glad to hear you enjoyed the install 😎
after watching your videos and reading some reviews, i have the same lighting setup, flex 4s on my bumper and the gravity pro 6 lightbar....so much light!!!
Glad to hear we could be of help to you :)
great video, but the ending with Ripley is the perfect closure. Loved it! Ripley is so cute..:-) Thanks for sharing
So glad you enjoyed the video and Ripley :)
Great video, was looking at these for my Gladiator also, jeep safe.
Glad you found our video to be helpful :)
That comparison was really good. I'm waiting on delivery for a pair of the same lights for my front bumper, I will mount them under the bull bar on my JT-R. I was thinking of adding the KC Pro-6 Lightbar, but you might have convinced me to wait on that.. I've got a Rebel bed rack, so I've already bought a bunch of KC lights for it while we are camping, or night trail running, which we don't do much on purpose (I have kids that wheel with me). Night runs can be a bit freaky or disorienting for backseat passengers, they can't see anything and are just getting tossed all over the place.
Glad the comparison was helpful to you. As you can clearly see in the video, these lights can get the job done all by themselves for sure.
Oh aye, great collie action once again. Lights? Aye, I like lights as well.
LOL - awesome :)
Thanks for a great video, after watching I ordered at set...should arrive in 2-3 months 🤦♂️. Anyways, very impressed and a good savings over the LP9's I was planning on buying.
Great to hear that our video was helpful to you. I think you'll be happy with these :)
Nice lights, love the amber back glow. Puppy Ripley!!
Awesome! Glad you like what you see :)
Increible canal, ese Gladiator luce genial!!!

Awesome! So glad to hear it 😎

Cool vehicle
Good job

Looked good yesterday at Jeep bash!
Hey, glad you were able to see it in person! 👍
Gotten lovem
Awesome
Cute puppy, I just bought a border collie last Nov. 2021. He likes to go everywhere with me.
Thank you and congratulations on being a border collie owner :)
perfect 🤟
Glad you liked what you see :)
I love KC products. With that much lighting, vampires or Dracula won't be dare to come out at night and hunt for blood.
LOL - I've been real happy with their products too. I just wish they were easier to get. I know it's not really their fault but man, the wait for these almost got me getting something else.
The rock lights around tires are really good to have. I'll have to look for your vid on how you did those
Here you go ruclips.net/video/mpU9Ghd2wu4/видео.html
Another great video.. and the editing...love it. Puppies are great! Now, why was I digging a hole???
LOL - so glad you enjoyed the video and Ripley :)
Great video! Huge motivation every week to take the gladdy out, everytime we watch a vid you guys put out, we jump in the jeep and hit trails in the sequoias
That is awesome!
You just need one more pair Eddy. I don't think it's bright enough. 😆 All kidding aside, the do the job well.
LOL
Nice
I don't like add-a-circuit clips, because in every instance in my high humidity coastal environment, they get corroded within a few years. I stopped using them over 10 years ago.
Great video and content, as usual. Thank you.
Like I say in the video, there are people out there who will disagree with what I chose to do. I live in Nevada and humidity or corrosion is not exactly something we see out here.
@@wayalife Please don't think I was being critical of your choice in your situation. I'm sure if I lived in an aired, non-coastal environment, I would use the same technique. I did for years with my CJ-5 back in the late 80's and learned from it. I just wanted to throw a coastal rainy man's experience for your viewers. I'm in the panhandle of Florida on the Gulf Coast.
Your content is outstanding. Now that I sold my heavily modified CJ-5 in March, and own a 2021 JLUR, I am a dedicated viewer; using your channel to plan my next mod. Cheers.
@@Verb130 Oh no, it's all good and I didn't take it that way at all. Just saying that it's never been a problem for me and why 😊
Another strong episode...when I saw the title I thought it was a hip hop video.
🤣 too funny! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Come for the Jeep vids, stay for the puppy highlights !
LOL - so glad you enjoy them :)
Eddie and Cindy, thank you for another outstanding video. Two questions, first about the ERA 4 and ERA 3 - Looking for adding Bumper and Ditch lights to my gladiator. Should the stronger of two go front facing and then the other be the side lights. I do not have a cabover light bar at this time. ( this might be more of a forum question as well)
The other question is something I spotted thru the grill on the gladiator, is that an additional fluid cooler (steering or transmission)with the white frame around it.
Thank you again for the work you both produce and as someone stated earlier, "come for the jeep videos but stay thru the very end for the Ripley segment"
I would always add the stronger lights up front and on the bumper. Adding something like that to the a-pillars will cause too much glare on the hood.
I was set on the lp4 from Diode Dynamics........You just threw a monkey wrench into that plan! Those are some dang good lights! 👍
I have no experience with the LP4s but I really am impressed with these KC lights. We actually had to dial the camera back to help capture what we were seeing and without blowing out the image.
New cooler behind the grill? Awesome vid as usual!!
Actually, it's the PSC ram assist cooler and it's been there for a couple of years now. The black paint on it has just faded away and so now you can see it. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@wayalife ahh got yah!! I knew you you had that I guess it was the color like you said haha
Had purchased the KC Apollo 151 (halogen) and they were worthless. I just bought these to replace them. Can't wait til they come in!
Yeah, halogen anything can't really hold a candle to the new LEDs and these ERA 4s are truly amazing.
God said let there be light. Then you turned on your gladiator. Love the videos.
LOL - so glad you enjoy our videos :)
Great video. If connecting to factory auxiliary jl switches, where do you connect the white wires for amber back glow? Thanks
Well, you can use one of the other switches for them but for me, I might recommend tying them into the DRL's. There is a white wire with a brown tracer on the passenger side one that you can tap into.
👍
I did a spit take with my drink when you put just the KCs on at the end! Haha
LOL - they really are impressive all by themselves.
Those things are awesome!! I may just replace my A-pillar cubes with a set of those! Depends though, I'm not looking to spend Baja Designs / Rigid money though. Hopefully, they are more reasonably priced.
These aren't the cheapest light but I personally feel they put out the kind of light that make it worth it. I could totally run with just them.
@@wayalife I hear you. Probably worth the investment. It was impressive when you just had them on. Like daylight!!
Even back in the 70's, KC lights were the envy of all my off-road friends. Wiring with my brother back in high school - Him: Cut the red wire. Me: OK, snip. Him: Oh wait! You cutting the factory wiring scared me.
puppy is so cute
LOL - thank you. Glad you liked seeing Ripley :)
Sweet set up. ☀️lllllll☀️
Thanks! 😎
Very nice I've always wanted kc just can't afford them
They aren't the cheapest lights around but they do work well.
Great video as always! Do you lose any visibility through the windshield at the top with the Pro 6 light bar? I’m tall so I find myself looking through the top part of the windshield when I’m at stop lights for example.
You may lose a little given what you just said.
I just got the KC Flex Era 1 Kit. Would love to see a vid on installing these on the rear of the Gladiator.
You mean something like what you see in this video? ruclips.net/video/ngr7HsSj_pQ/видео.html
Hey buddy what beam pattern would you recommend for the a pillars. I have amber floods on the bumper.
You really want spots on the a-pillars. Spread beams will cause way too much hood glare.
Did you upgrade your camera?
Can those amber back glows be hooked up to the running lights on the vehicle or sidemarkers so they’re on when vehicle is started or would they need an added fuse for that
Yes, I have several friends who have done this.
Hi Eddie, great video, where did you put amber backlight on the button panel? same button? do you occupy another button for the amber light? thks in advance
I connected them to my rock lights.
Love the lights and install video!! One question I do have is, what is the buzzing noise when the Jeep is on accessory mode? I have a 3.6 JLU and it does it as well, I’m sure it’s been answered before but I can’t find an answer or where it is actually coming from.
It's coming from everything that uses electricity when the Jeep is running.
Great vid. Man. Thanks! Who makes that behind the fairlead light mount?
EVO and it only works with their Quarter Pounder bumper.
GJ as always. Where can I find one of the light mount brackets you showed there?
The mount is made for an EVO Quarter Pounder front bumper.
