    Thank you for taking the time to make this video, it saved me so much time and money! We don't own the same stove as you but has the same parts as the oven. The part broke some time ago and we've just been limping it along until it completely broke and would no longer work. Ordered the part on amazon and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. I really appreciate all the time you took to make the video. Thanks again.

    Thanks for this! Knob broke off Monday, I ran across this video, and I had it fixed by Wednesday just under 48 hours later. I first looked up the part on the Sears site, but was then able to find it on Amazon using the actual model number. $6.95 with free shipping with Prime. Swapping it out was simple and it’s as if this never happened.

    Excellent work! I was quoted $350 to fix it. I knew what was wrong but didn’t know what the part was called. Thank you! I order this part from Amazon $7.50 (I got 2) I know it will break again. This is the Achilles’ heel of LG stoves.

    Thank you, this helped me fix my oven dial, thankfully in my case it did not break and was only jammed.. I think it was the metal piece that appears at 08:47 that came loose and prevented the smooth rotation of the dial.

    Thank you so much for this video. My knob broke off several months ago and I was dreading the repair. I got the part at Amazon and your video helped a lot. I don't know why LG would make the oven control a flimsy plastic piece which will probably break again. I'm going to keep a spare on hand.

      Right? 5 of them are metal and have never been a problem, but the oven control is just cheap plastic that gets fragile with heat. I can only guess how much it would cost to have it repaired by a technician. $200 maybe? For an $8 part that should have been metal anyway.

      @yoshimoshiGarage we've attempted ours but no luck. We have an electric LG glass top, model LSEL6337D that we literally just purchased from Home Depot 17mo ago 😠 my hubbie is a jack of all trades but this has him stumped. We cannot take the front panel down like you did but the last 2 screws are under the top.. which is what he's stumped on because it won't come up enough to get the last 2 screws!! Are we missing something? We've both watched your video a dozen times lol help!!!

    This is really excellent (just subbed👌). Perfect for my nearly identical situation. If you don't mind answering a question, you noted that the 4 screws holding the control box to the oven faceplate did not have to be removed. However, it looks like that may be the only way to change out the shaft assembly, since there is a disk portion of the new shaft below the faceplate larger than the through-hole - what are your thoughts? Thanks 👍

    • @YoshimoshiGarage
      @YoshimoshiGarage  Год назад +1

      They don't have to be removed to take the control panel off the stove. You do have to take them out later, yes.

    Thank you for this video! My oven knob broke off about a year ago and we have been turning the plastic part until that didn't work anymore. I ordered the part from the Sears place and got to work on the install. In my excitement to fix it, I didn't pay close enough attention when I was unplugging components and now I'm not sure how to reconnect the power to the faceplate. In your video, the two white connectors are already behind the metal housing thing. Do those go on the white strip with the small metal prongs on the board (close to where the oven knob housing is)? Thanks!

      Unfortunately it probably requires a knob, which is ridiculously expensive for what it is

  • @CornerFieldFarm
    @CornerFieldFarm 19 дней назад

    My oven knob is stuck on the stem in the wrong position. Off reads self clean, etc. Also, when I turn it, it clicks but usually needs 2 or 3 clicks before it changes the settings. Our LG is only 7 years old. Every knob has issues. Our burner knobs go past off back around to low. These are the junkiest, most expensive appliances we've ever owned.

    • @YoshimoshiGarage
      @YoshimoshiGarage  19 дней назад

      They're definitely junk. I won't buy another LG appliance. Sounds like maybe the oven control switch itself is bad on yours. Replacing it is basically the same as the stem, just a couple more screws but a lot more dollars

    Thanks for this! I took mine apart to fix the issue however now I’m having another problem. I’m not sure which screws go where lol totally my fault. Would anyone know where the screws that look like these go on the cooktop controller (2 screws part no. 1SBF0402418) and (2 screws part no. 1TTG0402422)? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    • @YoshimoshiGarage
      @YoshimoshiGarage  Год назад

      1SBF0402418 look like the ones that go underneath by the over door to hold the lower part of the metal housing to the oven. 1TTG0402422 look like maybe the screws that hold the controller into the frame? I'd go look at the exploded views on the sears site to see if you can place them.
