But often when its up to temp and has been on for a while, it just stops heating. the temperature will still read the temp it was set at but the oven will not try to ignite again. i have to watch it constantly to be sure its lighting the gas. it usually tries to light 3 times and if it doesnt it then will not try again... I had a house cleaning business for 25 year's, I got to know my appliance part store and started fixing people appliance because they couldn't wait a week, or just didn't trust repair people. Sounds like you are well versed with appliances! :) That's awesome! And I agree, those sheets that you are talking about are really helpful! Sometimes new parts such as motors will come with step by step instructions as well. Glad to hear that my videos helped out, thank you for watching and commenting!
I find very thick clear tape is good for the longevity or sometimes it will fix membrane pads. It will pull depressed buttons out enough for proper operation, but it has to be very thick type, I put on when new with no problems.
I do clean those small round caps on the burners as pictured in this video by just heating them up on the other burners, get them hot enough to turn the crud to ash then let cool
Thank you for the suggestions! :) I actually already have enough data written down to make a top 10 video on washing and drying machines. But I don't work on enough fridges and dishwashers to make a good top 10 video out of those. Not yet anyway. And I don't work on microwaves at all. So hopefully sometime in the next month or two there will be two more top 10 problems videos!
Ya, it's annoying but it's FIXED!!! The readout would go completely dark at some point during a 44 minute timed bake (for instance,) on the Whirlpool Electric oven. *I'll set a timer on the iPhone parallel to the Whirlpool oven timer next time till it is fix just in case it happens again - recommended, (and it worked!!) The cook top has worked perfectly (no cook timer involved.) SO, AFTER THE Whirlpool chat woman in TN kindly suggested I 'unplug the unit for at least 60 seconds OR throw the circuit breaker off (that's easier) AT WHICH POINT it apparently resets its main circuit board.' I cut the circuit breaker to the oven for 15 minutes or so and LO and BEHOLD - after flipping the circuit back on, it worked perfectly on a 42 minute timed bake for a tasty vegetable, lean pork tenderloin stuffed roast. (The time for the timer I set on a guess re: the size of the tenderloin and chopped size of vegetables - I set the iPhone timer for the same time.) Came out medium to medium rare, vegetables cooked to perfection - no misbehaving oven this time around! So, (like the TV set fixes when they're 'misbehaving' too, cause they do misbehave from time to time as well - 'bugs in the machine!' , JUST UNPLUG them for a few minutes to 15 minutes (to be safe) or so and it should fix the issue. YEAH! mmmmm

Well done video. I only have one little question. Since the oven temp goes up and down to maintain the set temperature, how does one know the temperature isn't accurate? (and not just her cooking?)
Too funny... this Tuesday my wife calls me on the way home and says the oven will not light. I Google the problem... "clicking igniter oven won't light". The first thing that comes up is to clean the igniter, #2 on your list lol! Fortunately the igniter was extremely easy to access. It looked grungy/dirty. I polished up the cage and the probe and reinstalled it. I hit Bake and then Start... one click and woosh the burner lit. I really enjoy your videos and thought the timing of this one was 2-days short... kidding.
Glad to hear you were able to get the oven fixed! I appreciate you sharing what the fix entailed! And thank you for watching even though you already fixed it! :)
@@WordofAdviceTV I spoke too soon. A couple of days later and it will not ignite. I found the igniter for cheap on Amazon and installed it yesterday. It still will not ignite. I hear it sparking (clicking) and can hear and smell the gas, yet no ignition after it clicks 3-4 times and stops (I assume this is normal for safety). Could it just be a dirty burner or orifice where the gas comes in? If it sparks and I hear/smell gas, what else can it be? Thanks.
@@kenhoward127 Hey Ken! Sorry to hear about the oven troubles! I would first take the bottom panel off inside of the oven, along with the flame spreader and look where that spark is sparking to. Sometimes the ignitor or the bracket around it gets slightly bent and it either sparks to the wrong place or it is not close enough to the burner tube. Or like you had mentioned, it's possible that some of the gas slots on the burner are plugged up. That should be pretty easy to clean with a brush or a toothpick. Stay safe! :)

I have a Samsung Gallergy Electric stove and range; long story short the oven doesn't want to come to temperature when preheating. Tried the recommendation Samsung gives of removing all but one rack and still the same. Got it to about 260 or so and seems to cap out, but I've noticed while it's heating up that on the display it shows what appears to be the top and bottom heating elements switching back and forth; not sure if that's normal or a sign of something amiss with one of the heating elements? I used the broiler all the time to brown sandwiches and that seems to work great, so perhaps a bottom heating element issue? I tried again just now and got it to about 260, then decided I'd try turning convection on instead of bake and it preheated to 350 pretty quickly. Thanks so much for any quick tips you can provide, I subbed and liked this video and appreciate you making these for average Joe's and Jane's trying to save their holidays and spare themselves 1k and the hassle of removing/installing a new appliance!
You are awesome 😎 I’ve tried “appliance touch up paint” and toilet ceramic touch up paint but the gas Frigidaire oven/range - around the range the previous owner must have used steel wool to clean and scratched it. It got rusted. It looked awful. But each of the paints I tried just get heated up too hot (from the gas burner inside it ?) and it turns the paint brown. Any suggestions? Maybe I could just replace the top range white piece ? Thank you for your good attitude and helpful, nice advice 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼

can you tell me how to remove the oven door on a fidgedare gas range? it is about 12 years old Model # FGF316DSF , it does not have a simple flip gizmo to open up the hinge. thanks great video
Thanks for your great videos! Would you please give me a word of advice for a range/oven that smells like something is burning. It smells like something electrical is burning. This does not happen all the time and it started happening a few weeks ago. The oven is clean and I don't see any food residues or other materials in it. This is an electric Samsung range/oven. Thanks in advance!
Yes my wife and I have a Kenmore elite and the other night I came in to the house and asked my wife what's cooking she said nothing I said why is the oven on then and here the Royal burner was on any suggestions on why it would come on all by itself and not short on the board would be nice if you could drop me a line
I just use regular crimp connectors that you would use for a furnace/ac. The oven will probably be replaced before that crimp connector will get cooked :) That's what I was taught anyway and I haven't had any problems.
Ahhhh... I just watched it again and saw the part you are talking about. That video had so many cuts! I even annoy myself with the constant cuts but with longer videos, there's no way I can film the whole thing without mistakes. I guess I overlooked that part. Thank you for pointing it out but at this point I think I might just leave it since it's not a massive blunder :)
@@WordofAdviceTV No worries! I get it because I have made vids. too. Just my "word of advice" an easy way to make ur vids error free is to let a friend watch it (entirely) before posting
@Jo Tu Thank you for the advice Jo Tu! :) My wife used to do that for me but after a few hundred videos she doesn't quite appreciate that job as much any more heheh But it's alright.. I usually re-watch it myself but since this one was half an hour long, I didn't re-watch the whole thing. My mistake. Anyway, the fact that you made it to Sabbath mode means you watched most of the video, thank you for watching it all! ;)
I have Whirlpool Gas range Model WFG374LVQ 1 , The oven lights but within 10 seconds goes out, won't heat up. I have replaced ignitor and control board. But still it won't stay lit. Broiler works fine. What else could it be.
Question: If I changed the time on my Dacor range while the oven was on, could this cause a control board issue? I think this may be the case since my oven issue started around the same time. It only gets warm now, the element doesn’t get red hot.
I smell a wire burning type of odor. If the oven doorgasket is Hard and crusty. Will that allow enough heat to come out of the oven and make the wires smell like they’re burning?
Have you ever come across an oven that reaches its temperature, but then it keeps going above the temperature desired, and the bake element stays red hot? On a kitchenaid
I have modern electric oven with the flat surface. The hot surface indicator light stays on 24/7, I tried shutting the breaker off and turning back on but it still stays lit. Any way to fix ?
There is but usually that involves replacing the burner. On most ranges the hot surface indicator light is powered by the bi-metal thermal switch which is part of the radiant burner assembly. In other words, the burner assembly is causing the light not to go off. Have you tried searching for videos on that specific problem? For example: "GE hot surface light not turning off". There are also a bunch of videos on how to replace burners as well, if you need them.
@Tom Dee Usually each burner will have it's own indicator light, is that not the case on your unit? In that case you would have to open it up and test each burner with a meter to see which one is the culprit.
I got one for you. I have never had this before. Customer just sent me the video. mechanical gas oven thermostat turns on by itself and turns off by itself. He showed me gas valve is off and the burner is on and running. Has anybody ever seen this before. All the years I have been repairing this is a new one on me.

Electric stove. between glass windows decided to try to clean. Inside top of door 2 screws. 2 glass panels sprung open. Gently tried to clean with spray solution of vinegar and water. Brown streaks were not coming off decided to spray solution on & let soak overnight. Next morning with solution soak paper towel lightly touched one of glass panels to clean immediately at touch both glass panels explosively shattered!! Glass was stuck in wood floor, walls, ceiling, cabinets literally everywhere in my hair arm's hands glasses protected my eyes!! I had to throw away my shoes & all clothing. Had to take clothes off & bag outside & comb glass out of hair. Thank God I had dryer in the kitchen full of dry clothes. For over a year I was picking tiny pieces of glass out of ceiling, floors ect. Not sure why it happened. I was told that there is a type of gas between the two glass panels. One shattered in chunks and the other one shattered in thin shavings. I could have lost my eye sight permanently if I didn't have my reading glasses on. Please do not be tempted to clean Brown streaks 34:32 streaks

Great video
Thanks for watching Michael!
Keep up the good videos very informative videos👍
Thank you good sir! :) I have another two lists remaining that I will eventually make... Washer and dryer.
Since a gas oven does not have a flame sensor, does the flame igniter stay hot while the oven is calling for heat? Thanks Love your videos.
It was great help the gas burner video.
Can you help me with this small problem I have brought a second hand gas cooker and unfortunately it has no markings on the oven starter or which one is for which part of the oven getting hot I would appreciate if you could help me. It's a ariston gas cooker
can you tell me how to remove the oven door on a fidgedare gas range? it is about 12 years old Model # FGF316DSF , it does not have a simple flip gizmo to open up the hinge. thanks great video
Why would my burners work, and not my oven? Brand new oven, tried on two ovens. Same problem.
Yes my wife and I have a Kenmore elite and the other night I came in to the house and asked my wife what's cooking she said nothing I said why is the oven on then and here the Royal burner was on any suggestions on why it would come on all by itself and not short on the board would be nice if you could drop me a line
An excellent video!
My stove gets 120 volts on each side of the wires probes , but I don’t get 240 volts together.
Any inputs ?
thanks
Check your double breakers , one of the circuit breaker trip
Check your double breakers one of them might be trip
Hmm is it a gas stove or electric stove?
What Specific type of crimp on terminals do you use that can hold up to the heat.
I just use regular crimp connectors that you would use for a furnace/ac. The oven will probably be replaced before that crimp connector will get cooked :) That's what I was taught anyway and I haven't had any problems.
Good video but think you would want to know that you have an editing error (a bad splice) in the "Sabath Mode" section of video.
My mistake. Anyway, the fact that you made it to Sabbath mode means you watched most of the video, thank you for watching it all! ;)
Do you work on AGA cookers ? Where are you located?
Fridgidare oven gas no oven no clock no burns no tripped circuit breaker power at outlet any suggestions?....
I have Whirlpool Gas range Model WFG374LVQ 1 , The oven lights but within 10 seconds goes out, won't heat up. I have replaced ignitor and control board. But still it won't stay lit. Broiler works fine. What else could it be.
I have a Frigidaire installed a new oven igniter an the igniter is not glowing an how would I look for an open circuit
Will that allow enough heat to come out of the oven and make the wires smell like they’re burning?
i have viking range top modeldgcu165-sbsb the igniters are clicking all the time i wonderwhats the problem
Can you do one for washers and dryers?
I do have one for washers and I have the list for dryers but have yet to film it.. Thank you for the suggestion!
@@WordofAdviceTV I will definitely check those out, thank you.
How would I know which radiant burner is causing this ?@@WordofAdviceTV
@Tom Dee Usually each burner will have it's own indicator light, is that not the case on your unit? In that case you would have to open it up and test each burner with a meter to see which one is the culprit.
If I leave one burner at a time unplugged (then power on) and the light goes out, would that be the culprit ?
I have never tried doing it that way but that sounds like a logical approach to me. That should work!
I got one for you. I have never had this before. Customer just sent me the video. mechanical gas oven thermostat turns on by itself and turns off by itself. He showed me gas valve is off and the burner is on and running. Has anybody ever seen this before. All the years I have been repairing this is a new one on me.
If my igniter is new and gets lighted right away? what is wrong? also the igniter does not turn off. thanks
Please help PLease please..... I have a bosch HEI7282U/09

Got a question for anyone: I have a KitchenAid gas range
Model: KGSK901SBL00
I can push any button on the front panel and they beep and function as they’re supposed to, except for the Broil button. When I touch it, absolutely nothing happens. No beep, no function at all. Thanks in advance.
