Yoshimoshi

Добавлен 27 авг 2020
What is 'Yoshimoshi"? It's just a nonsense word that I made up years ago and told my then-small children it was the best show on TV. The name stuck, and here we are.
What do I do? I work on projects. Lots of projects. Fixing cars, garage and shop projects, home repairs, electronics and maker projects and everything in between. We'll even take side trips into learning how common items and parts work, mostly by tearing them apart.

Pre-OBD Oxygen Sensor Testing: 1990 Nissan D21
Просмотров 2882 месяца назад
Ever since 1996 we've gotten spoiled with cars telling us when sensors are misbehaving. Today we're working on a 1990 Nissan Pickup that failed an emissions test so we have to go old-school and use a multimeter for diagnostics.
Installing a NipponDenso Alternator on an LA/Magnum Block (True Spirit # 55)
Просмотров 5533 месяца назад
Purists are going to get an eye twitch from this one, but let's face it, 1970's Mopar charging tech wasn't fantastic and I want simpler wiring. The solution? A Toyota alternator. Don't like it? Then don't swap yours.

Applying POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer (True Spirit # 42)
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.5 месяцев назад
To keep the new gas tank in my Power Wagon from rusting inside, I'm going to give POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer a try. I've never used it before and it's not sponsoring the video, but I've heard good things about their products. I won't know how well it works for some time, though, since there's a lot left to do on this truck before it gets gas. POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer: amzn.to/4eZOD5N
Relocating a Gas Tank Filler Neck (True Spirit # 41)

Putting a Ford Gas Tank in a Dodge Tin Grille (True Spirit #38)
Просмотров 5628 месяцев назад
The 1974 Power Wagon had a tank in the cab, which I don't want, and the 1978 tank won't fit with the 1974 transfer case. So what am I to do? Use a 1970 Ford Mustang tank, of course! Time to install the New Process 205 transfer case in my 1974 Dodge W100 restoration project. Unfortunately, removing it required cutting the cross member in two, so I have to deal with both placing it in a different year frame and fixing the cut.

I see that you didnt show an end play measurement. Is that something to not be overly concerned with?
Absolute priceless knowledge for us without the precision instruments
Best yet! Simple for simpletons like me!
I love the instrumental Arcade Fire
Does this work on a 6 volt regulator and generator?
HI SIR WHICH MODEL AND MAKE CARB IS IT. NICE VIDEO.
It's a Holley 0-8007
There are several things here. I do not agree with. We'll start with the simplest. When you measure the timing hashes on the cover against your caliper, those are not equal measurements. You're trying to measure an arc with a straight line measurement. Tose things don't jive. The arc is a longer distance. Then that straight line, you're measuring with your caliper. There are other inaccuracies here, but i'm not going into it any farther. The one I pointed out is good enough for starters
Absolutely! On a 6-inch circle, the different between a chord and an arc of 5 degrees is a whole 0.0002 inches!
It's a shame they don't offer this anymore. Maybe I can find one at Goodwill......
Would love to know how the Engine Performance turned out! I know from back in the day a chev timiing marks were at about o'clock position and later engines are more like 1230 o'clock was probably some emissions ideal, like your content!!
How would you remove the pin that holds the spider gears together. It sits under the ring gears… would you take the ring gear off to reach the cross shaft pin
Yes, remove the ring gear and it's easy to get to
Como se llama el producto
We had the total set of Neway in our shop. Used them 40 years. It came with a low speed electric driver, pilots, head stands, water based cutting fluid. Same as flywheel coolant or crank grinding coolant. Can also use a cleaner like spray 9. The proper sequence is 60 degrees, 30 degrees, and 45 degrees wet. The 45 will look like chrome when cut wet and lightly coasting on the seat to polish. No need for dykem. If you must, use magic marker. To color the seat. A skilled machinist like myself can do 16 seats in 16 minutes floor to floor. Great production machine. All those single blade seat machines like Serdi suck. They take forever and have to much deflection. Awful machine! Screw around half a day to do a pair of heads. And overcharge customers! We charged $220 for v8 valve job and surface heads. 8yrs ago that is. That's including disassemble, cleaning, cut seat, valves, assemble and resurface heads.
Okay guys…. My OCD is going nuts… Can we please pressure wash the greasy pig BEFORE we start the disassembly process??? Just saying Less crap everywhere and filth in the parts washer
I think you could have put some fluid in it and let her rip!! That thing looked great inside!
Probably, but since I had no idea what the intervals looked like beforehand, with my luck it would have gotten me a couple miles from the house and then stranded me.
Sorry man.... this is not how a hone is done... and you certainly don't run the drill that fast Milwaukee on 2 proves you dont have clue
Totally. Glad you're here to right the world.
mopar!
I was almost ready to break it and buy a new one 🤣 Thanks!
Great video, I have a 99 two door Tahoe I’ve had since 1999 and would wto do this to my frame. I’m glad I found this channel.
2 years later: at 15:17 I did not see you put the spring back in? Yes, I did get my HF Mill about 1.9 years ago, and the first day I used it, my mill head dropped a smidge and broke the gears, got the belt kit ordered and it has been fine ever since. I really like the mini mill for what I do.
Appreciate the video. My experience with this is as follows. Model: LDT7808SS. AE error. Discovered leaking drain hose directly under the front of the unit. Replaced hose for $15. The hose was badly deteriorated like it was dry rotted. Not sure what would have caused this, but we do have hard water. Put everything back together. Cycle would start and then immediately stop, with no error codes. Controls/lights also seemed to be behaving erratically. Thought it might be the control board. These were $300, but they don’t seem to be available anymore. Bought a used one for $35 on eBay and installed. Dishwasher is now working again. The old control board was visibly fried. I’m wondering if some water got on it when the drain sprang a leak. This was frustrating to say the least. Not a lot of information online about these.
The same dishwasher in this video I had also replaced the control board in. It was just a horrible machine.
at glance, it is a valve related problem the rings are solid on these engines and rarely breaks many that install new rings on old pistons does not take care of the top ring groove wear and they install new rings on distorted grooves so the top ring breaks as soon the engine is sollicited to its capacity..
you mentioned getting the year waranty, will HF honor that if you chop the cord off?
What did you do for levers/linkages? Nobody sells a kit for that.
Ok, so who grinds the valves to match the seats? How do you equalize valve depth? Are the valve guides In spec?Too loose?Too tight? This should be done by a professional.
Totally!
This is done way easier with a hammer and matching piece of metal and a steady hand 😅
Why not use hot water or steamer?
It's 2 stories up, and it would take well over 100 gallons of hot water to try to do that gutter length. 100 gallons that would turn to ice on the ground
@YoshimoshiGarage your certainly right
More springs better hold
I use bearing race installer for brake rotors & drums
So what if the gauge shows half tank when key is off, and its empty. When i add fill it up to full arounf 2 gallon it stays full when keys off and when i turn it back on iy siws the same thing, gas gauge goes down slowly when i drive it.
Good video
Good video and all the important parts are shared, Thank you
Great video with honest issues. I'm about to tackle this same job so I appreciate you taking the time to point out the things you found. Now, taper bearings or Green bearings, that is the question??? Thanks again!
I've been using green bearings for 30 years with no issues. Daily driving, trail driving, etc (not just straight line)
I hate this dishwasher so much
100%
@7:48 May I have your opinion on how much brake grease you put under the Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder Boots (Dust Seals)? I'm installing new Wheel Cylinders and the Shop Manual (we have 2009 Nissan Sentra) advises to put that grease on Piston Cups and Boots (Dust Seals). On the original Cylinder boots (inside) there was some white grease, which became hardened. I plan to put there on new Cylinders 3M Silicon Paste (Dielectric Grease), since the one they advise in the Shop Manual NISSAN lubricant (KRE12- 00030) I could not find anywhere but on Amazon in Japan, and also it is not quite clear there if it is that particular grease (everything in Japanese), but not sure how much. Practically nothing clear on YT or anywhere about it. Thank you for the great film, especially for demonstration how to disassemble the Piston Cups from the Pistons.
I'd use just a thin film to prevent corrosion. Anything light would work as these shouldn't get hot
@@YoshimoshiGarage I see the purpose now, so it is against corrosion. Thank you very much for the replay and explanations.
dude 5 minutes of complaining and that FastForward's how to fix it
True, but it was free.
It is called a parking Pawl not a parking sprag
Thank you for super 😊 awesome 💯😎💯 video and knowledge ❤😊❤
Mine gauge won’t drop below 3/4s of a tank goes to full when you fill it up what would cause this
Lower resistance makes the level higher, so it's probably shorting to ground somewhere. I'd start with checking the wire.
Never getting a lg dishwasher ever again. This thing has been a major headache with random errors every 6 months or so. Thank you for the help and saving me some money!!
great video, 5:10 answers my question. and i adjusted the limits without disconnecting anything, and it still works got a little better. feels like it’s turned all the way counter-clockwise. idk
Perfect video on how NOT to use POR15 fuel tank sealer. First of all, you must use POR15 degreaser and then metal activator from their product line to achieve best results, not just random brake cleaner. Your tank is new and not greasy? Haha... What about leftover flux from soldering at the factory, etc? Also, you should never never ever shake POR15 fuel tank sealer. It introduces air bubbles. You must open the can and stir it well until it becomes uniform in colour. From your example we see it wasn't uniform colour. I wouldn't expect great and lasting result of this job
10/10! We all appreciate your expert advice and look forward to the video.
Fixed! About one hour and twelve bucks to Bezos. Thanks for saving me a bunch of money.
Thanks!
is there a part can be changed of the charging system\alternator so it charge with 100 amp instead of 80 amp to fully charge battery faster?0
No. Alternator output is determined by the physical field and stator windings. Increasing amperage output generally requires a different alternator
The "top guys" do not cover this step in any video Ive seen. Its kinda crucial since I spent an hour trying to figure out wtf I was doing wrong. Thank you💯
Great video. 😊
When you air checked at -9:00 you say you’ll hear thud and see the piston move. I hear a thud that sounds right but nothing moved??
What is the correct space for the rings
Thank you !!
Just watched this. Always felt I didn't have enough knowledge or skill to do this myself, but now I feel much more confident. I also like how you presented it... slow, calm, and detail-oriented. Thank you.
Thanks! I have a slightly different LG oven but same panel. Ordering the part now- glad to see it's an easy fix. I used some select language when I realized that stem was PLASTIC. Sheesh.
