The basic premise for this game is: "Hey, do you remember Prototype?" "Yeah?" "Well what if we did that... but with dildos, aliens and more comedy?" "That sounds stupid... I'm in."
@@IllMatic97 it was a pretty solid game don't get me wrong. But I'm bound to believe something didn't happen behind the scenes during the development of the game. Mostly it's poor marketing.
I've played SR4 twice and I just realized the reason the Saints go on that mission is because the guy they were after was the guy who got away at the end of 3.
That kinda annoys me. They killed him who in the ending had no real reason to be killed and never let us kill killbane who we did have a reason to kill. He was the main villain and you dont even get to kill him. It's like Dex from saints row 2 but worse
@@MEH-tv7re No reason? He went rogue after he was beaten in SR3. Also, you DO have the option to kill Killbane at the end of SR3...but it comes with a terrible price.
I pretty much played the hell out of SR4, because I collected all the clusters, and thought, "maybe I should Platinum this" but then realized I controll the whole map now, and getting the Warden trophy was gonna be a pain when your wanted level can be nonexistent late in the game. I'll 100% it one day!
I Platinumed Saint's Row 3 and 4, had so much fun with those games. Played through Gat out of Hell did everything save for the one trophy on co-op mode.
Yeah it seems about right, plus they seemed to give the villain more screen time than the Third did, basically handled Zinyak like other game villians at the time, like Borderlands 2 with Handsome Jack and Far Cry 4 with Pagin Min as some examples of gaming villains that are there from start to finish to mock and interfere with your progress, not a bad way narrative wise.
Yeah i remember that part, that was awesome. Plus the whole part of that level was based on and inspired by the film They Live, which Roddy Piper starred in, it was a sci fi action film, kinda like something you would expect from the time, but having somebody who isn't normally tied to Action films as the main character which is cool.
I like 2 and 4 equally but for different reasons. 2 gives you that sweet story, progression, and game building you want from a good game, and 4 gives you that cool fun and fixes some odd decisions they made in 3 while refining others.
I straight up adore this game (and 3) so, of course I would love to see more adventures with President Durst! Oh geez, did i just type that? Also there are text adventure missions in both 3 and 4, both dealing with Matt Miller.
8:23 "Oh no! That memorial! I don't know what it is... it's a thing in Washington" A memorial? In Washington, you say? You might even call it a monument! A Washington Monument if you will
My favorite new feature on this game was giving you an mp3 player so the music continued while you were on foot. Especially useful since you barely have to even look at cars in this one.
i mean.... the boss is willing to get their hands dirty, is cunning and capable, but knows when to delegate to their subordinates, is loyal to their employees.....
It’s like if you took destroy all humans, GTA, and you have matrix superpowers. Anyway back in 2015, I didn’t care about the plot until I played saints row 3 and then 4 again, the entire series story made sense with me basically understanding 1 and 2 without having to play them. Main point being I love that SR4 calls back to the previous games by repeating missions from them.
I have mixed feelings for Saints Row 4 as well, like, it was indeed fun and exciting, but didn't like how they pretty much copy/pasted Steelport and there weren't no interesting landmarks nor hideouts anymore.
I missed playing 4. Also I don’t care what anybody says 3 and 4 are the best. An improvement no less. 1 and 2 just felt like full on copies of GTA except for the story and characters. 3 and 4 feels like an over exaggerated parody done well.
Honestly, I mainly put on the classical station. There's nothing like bounding across buildings or running like the Flash and giving a lariat to an alien while Barber of Seville is playing
I beat these games in a weird order, so i bought 3 first and played a bit, but then i bought 4 and beat it. After beating for I bought 2, and beat 3 then beat 2. But I love this series, like when i'm feeling pretty meh I love to play this for a bit, but I can only play for 30 minutes till my computer freaks out dksnfds.
3 was way better imo, the superpowers removed all feeling of progression, plus they completely made vehicles redundant - and i really quite liked the car cusomisation in SR3 tbh. Also - I thought the story went a bit too wild, 3 was the one I liked best - somewhat real but just absurd / unhinged and wild. Was a very videogamey game, if that makes sense lol.
Honestly, the problem is people only think of GTA as satire. This whole game is one big satirical parody of a lot of cliches just as every Saints Row game before. Why do you think in the first game, which came out around 2006, you had to fight against Fast and Furious parodies, Empire/Hustle And Flow/Any BET movie gang, and then the cliche cartel/mobsters? Then in the 2nd game, in 2008, you fought a fraternity, the Yakuza, the Jamaican Mafia, and a mega clothing corporation? Then in the 3rd game, in 2011, you fight James Bond villains, Luchadors, Hackers, and a mega military straight out of Pacific Rim? Then in this game, in 2013, you're the president who goes through the Matrix, to fight aliens while also saving your friends in their Matrixes, that also happens to use pop culture references and Zinyak who is clearly based on Xenu from Scientology. I honestly think this franchise did amazingly in comparison to many of their counterparts, I think it's just best to kind of see it in all of it's layers as a cohesive series.
SPOILER : Aliens destroyed Earth, everyone on it, you and a few friends are holed up on a spaceship that's also a time machine and has access to a Matrix-style simulation where you have godlike powers. What do you do?
I've always kinda found SR4 kinda okay. Even though I beat it like 6 times at this point. Still a good game, but the Third is my favorite felt just right.
I wonder if you can do Mario And Luigi Paper Jam- Whu Happen? How did this game end up as so generic and bland as the New Super Mario Bros. And why it turned out to be the worst Mario And Luigi game?
The basic premise for this game is:

"Yeah?"

Pretty much.
I would say it's a slightly less grounded Crackdown, but I see where you're coming from.
you son of a bitch I'm in
To heist con here we go. 😂
The real Crackdown 3, IMO. But yeah, SR5 is going to have to scale it back a bit, they kinda painted themselves into a corner with 4.
Agents of Mayhem is practically a "What Happened?" episode in its own right
Eh, I enjoyed the game

Zinyak sounds like he's trying to be a mixture of Tim Curry in Legend and David Bowie in Labyrinth

In case folks are wondering, yeah. There is a fight between Keith David and Roddy Piper.

I was really wish SRIV had more missions where you were outside the simulation and doing things inside the alien ship.

I’ve probably played this game 10+ times and the dialogue still cracks me up. Keep playing!! It’s just a silly good time!
I had a lot of fun with 3 and 4. I've put a mixtape in the game to play "What is Love" in loop.
Well they didn't announce a new Prince of Persia. They announced an OLD ONE
That's built from the ground up with new voices, dialog and gameplay tweaks. And I'm more than happy with that.

Just played this again like a month ago. Looking forward to SR5

Finally, the best Saints Row game
Did Matt get to the Keith David subplot with the They Live fight later in the game? Because that alone is worth playing SRIV.

The proper pronunciation of schedule is with the "sh" because that's the British pronunciation. Americans pronounce it as "sk". Really, both are okay.
